Hi, I hear that some women experience irregular periods on high raw. I figure they are referring to missed periods. How about when you get them once a week? Is that just detox?
This has only happened this once -- my normal cycle just ended on the 9th - last week. It started again today, on the 20th. I was so  I've only been this raw for a couple of months.

Hi! Yes, I'm one of them who have had irregular periods... I didn't get it for about 6 months at the beginning of last year. Then it came (spotted) for almost a month. 2 Regular after that, then it was gone again for 3 & 1/2 months!
In the meantime, I've been to the doctor who wanted to put me on Progestrone for the rest of my life!!! No, thank you!!! I decided to drink Raspberry Tea, which I feel has helped me to know that I *AM* ovulating, even though there was no flow. I also make sure that I juice Beets on a Regular Basis which helps with Iron.
I feel great. Before Raw I used to cramp so much!!! I haven't experienced that in SUCH a long time!!! I *KNOW* that improving my diet has helped me and I'm healthier than I've been in my life!!! I also exercize on a regular basis now, so I'm not gonna worry when I skip one, or two, or three...
As for stopping and starting the way you have...well, I wish I could give you more insight on that. This is just my experience. I will definitely say, be sure that you keep good records of this...

my cramps got worse on raw. i heard that menstruating is a form of detox, so it makes sense.
my cycle this month hasn't been as bad! i'm not eating all raw food, but i incorporated a vitamin regime, perhaps that has helped.

i have found that after fasting for an extended period of time, my periods are still very heavy but not lasting as long as they were.
my best period ever (last month) was during a recent water fast and although i thought this period (that i'm just completing now) was worse... i'd have to say it was a bit heavier but it was another really good period. (shorter duration). so these last two periods were my best periods to date in my life.
my bloating was worse this time though.
i have no advice, so nothing. just thought i'd chime in. periods - to me - are not a sign of detox cause honestly... i've fasted so much i can't imagine there's much to detox and yet i still have heavier than normal periods (at least for the two heavy days i'm having now)... so???
no answers here... just rambling...

Mine were off too. Not having them as much as before. I make sure I get enough iron from beets. I drink raspberry tea daily. I buy it loose. I do believe this helped regulate me.

Thank you, ReneeH, for sharing your experiences. That's really interesting. Kinda makes you rethink what's normal. I will definitely continue to keep track. I was so bummed about it's sudden reappearance. :( But there is no one to go to to make it stop ~ that I know of...lol Congrats on your regular exercise and healthy lifestyle ~ sounds wonderful!
Thank you, JennaHoneyBear. Glad to hear things are getting better for you.
lol, Aleesha ~ Thank you for your honesty - "I have no advice, so nothing." Truly, thank you for sharing some of the things you've been through ~ it was helpful.
Thank you, margoss. Hopefully this is just a one time "cycle readjustment" that I'm going through, and mine will taper off as well. Raspberry tea came up twice in this thread ~ think I will give it a try ~ sounds yummy. :)

Oh -- I also wanted to add that it is way heavier than normal but without any cramping or pain ~ so that's one good thing. I will keep you posted. Thanks again, everyone!

Hi! I ended up just spotting for a week exactly. It was just barely there... It seems to be gone, so I'll keep you posted!

So it ended up lasting a good 4 days. That's down from my usual full 7. :)

Sounds like detox to me, but I don't know. I haven't had one for close to a year now..
