I'm in the middle of my 30 days of raw. I've heard so often that I shouldn't worry about what I'm eating or how much as long as it's raw. I eat lots of fruit and big green salads and I juice, but I'm concerned I'm eating too many nuts. Today, for example, my salad dressing had blended nuts in it (that was lunch). For dinner I had a nut and veggie pate over lettuce. Then, later, I had some raw cashews. Should I be worried about this? Or for now, since this is my first try at raw, should I just eat what I want and not worry about it? I'm concerned both from a healthy perspective as well as being able to lose weight.

What about you? How often (and how many) nuts do you typically consume on an all-raw diet?

The first time I tried raw this past summer, I ate a lot of nuts. It was fine for me, they are really filling. But I hardly lost any weight. I still felt amazing and so much better than eating SAD.

However, the second time going 100% I haven't been craving the nuts. I am losing much more weight. I guess it really depends on your body at the time. What your body is telling you, it needs.

You're going to have to do a lot of experimenting to find out what amounts of what foods your body feels best with.

For me, I have to watch my nut intake - I'll gain weight eating nuts every day. I save them for an occasional recipe. *Ü*

Some can feel totally healthy and lose weight on a high fat, raw food diet. I'm not one of them. I'm of the high fruit, low fat school of thought. I limit my fat intake to 2 ounces a day. That's a handful of soaked nuts or seeds or half an avocado, usually before my dinner of salads and veg. This way keeps my fat intake to about 10% a day, a frequently recommended amount for a successful raw food lifestyle.

My first year of raw, i went nuts with nuts and raw gourmet food, gradually my body guided me of balancing thing out better.

If you feel satisfy, go for it. If feel saturated from eating too much nuts, then cut down.

Please soak your nuts always to make them easy to digest.

You can try sunflower seed instead of nuts. They are rich in omega 3.

Have fun on your raw journey!
