Hey there. Just wondering, if you make morning juice and plan on juicing again later in the day, do you feel the need to wash your juicer each time? It's such a pain to wash it but I don't want to mess it up somehow by leaving the pulp all in it and everything. (I'm new to juicing if you can't tell, lol)

yes i do. it's waaaaaay easier to clean right away. once the pulp gets stuck on... it's like super glue!
you'll get into a routine, only takes a minute to clean up after yourself. ;)

Yes, always. I agree with Aleesha, it's far easier to do it at the time than to have to come back to it. No bueno!

IF you are in a rush... fill the sink with water and just put everything in the sink. At least it won't 'super glue' in place!

Yes, you have to wash it every time. In addition to creating a cleaning nightmare later, the pulp will spoil and get gross if you live it in there even for several hours. You can make a big batch of juice all at once and save some of it for later if you want, just add a few drops of lemon juice and store in an airtight container.

Some juicers are much quicker and easier to clean. That was one reason that i went with the Champion juicer. Its a cinch to clean.....I would say probably under a minute.

I run water through the juicer ... then I take it apart and clean it -- but the water bath done when running gets most of the stuff out before I take it apart, so it cleans up in minutes.
Yes, I clean it everytime time I use it.

What juicer do you have?

I have a continuous juicer so I just juice what I need for the day and clean up. If you juice one glass at a time, yes I would clean up after each use. Like everyone says, it gets gummy if you don't and the pulp starts to get funky pretty quickly.

Well, if you don't you run the risk of pulp getting "welded" to the parts as people here mentioned. if this should occur, you can use water with some salt and vinegar to remove the stubborn material.

I have an Omega VRT and a Samson, and if I know I'm going to juice again in a couple hours, I occasionally DO NOT take them apart to clean them, but rather run water through them. (I actually save/drink that water too!)
So I guess I'm in the minority here!
But I don't think? it would be wise to do that in a Champion (cuz stuff would probably stick in the teeth) or in a centrifugal juicer, where the little nibs would probably get clogged.

If I'm in a hurry I will put a plastic bag in the pulp catcher and just tie it and toss it - then rinse the catcher out.

That or get a dedicated wash tub (dollar store) that way other dishes from other family members aren't putting nasty oily utensils/dishes in with your juicing parts. :eat

By the way, I just want to add that I never use soap on my Geen Star juicers. I just rinse all the parts really well and scrub them with that toothbrush thingy. Just thought I'd add this because I had a friend who thought she had to use soap every time on her juicer and it took her a lot longer to wash it.

the soap would make the cleaning process twice as long, rather have a little bacteria than some organism killing agent in my juice!
hot water is all it takes before and after use, unless you dont use it every day then home made washing agents would be better.
but if your like me i just blast all the parts with a pressure hose outside my garden!

Nope, I don't wash mine every time. If it's a really hot day and it might spoil I do, but on cooler days no, it doesn't dry in time.
I just got a hold of a hurom juicer, thats SO MUCH EASIER to clean the the flippin Champion! But even then I'm just running a little water through it and leaving it. I'll get back home tonight and juice my dinner with it then rinse it out.
