View Full Version : Weight Regain
often when people come to raw they release weight and then their body finds what is referred to as their 'true weight'. so in essence... it goes down and then comes back up to a healthy place naturally.
..
Okay.. argh! I don't want to regain my weight. I'm happy with how I look and I don't want it to come back. Is it inevitable??
Some of us need to be thin (not normal, actually THIN) for our line of work otherwise we get dropped :O so I need to keep all the weight off and maintain. Please help!
(Please don't suggest I find a new line of work. I love my job! I only need to know how to avoid gaining even a few lbs back)
I doubt you are going to get large on a raw food diet.

no one can answer this question for you. only time will tell. some people are very thin on raw live foods and others are not.

i just saw this post of yours in another thread... i'll quote it here:
I have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and I find that even if I'm only 50% raw (with daily juices) my anxiety is much lower. I feel much more able to resist my compulsions and I just let the obsessions wash over me. When I've been on a day or two of junk again it's like I'm back to square one.
I haven't experimented yet in going 100% but I'll update if/when I do.
if you are looking to releasing weight and finding your 'true weight' (since you chose to quote me in your OP)... then you need to be 100% raw to find that. until then... you may very well yo-yo with your weight.
as Alissa says so beautifully... it's not what you are eating that's raw that's causing the weight to not be released... it's what you are eating that isn't raw!

Sorry I can only offer you my own experience. After a few months raw I dropped to a very low weight for about three months, and then bit by bit, I gained about fifteen pounds back. The only thing is, I'm not sure how much of it is due to the cold weather. Most raw-fooders tend to have more salads and smoothies in the summer, and heavy foods during the winter.
I can almost guarantee you that if you're eating "normally" right now, even your long-term weight on raw will be less than it is now.
