System upgrade to take care of the spam

Hi Everyone,

As many of you have noticed, there is a ton of spam coming onto the board within the last couple of weeks. We try to remove it as quick as we can.

Also, i am doing an update to the board and it should be complete by next week. Its a huge system upgrade so it will also take care of the spam.

I was unaware of the 60 seconds between reports. That would definitely be annoying. I'm guessing it was put in place because of the spammers posting so fast... admin was probably trying to slow them down a bit.

But... now we'll have much less of it. ;) I'm looking forward to NOT spending 2 hours deleting spam tomorrow!

There is not 60 secs between normal posts but just between the spam reporting. It did delay things.

Wow...thank you SO much Aleesha and Alissa! For some reason, with the spam on the board yesterday, every time I brought the board up into my browser it wouldn't let me do anything...post, report...nothing. Could be my ancient computer (my GF always tells me her mac is better than my Dell lol), but it only seemed to happen when I brought the message board up. Now it's working like a charm...

It is always like that. When you report spam you have to wait 60 secs before you can report again.
It has always been that way but did not matter so much when there were a few to report.

and... now that we have some new spam protection on the site, we'll still get some but not nearly the amount as we were. no more spambots - which is goooooooood.
