Hi Everyone!

A Raw Student of mine asked me if I had a recipe for Mustard Greens... Other than putting them in a smoothie or possibly in a Salad, I don't know what else to do with them. Seems like they'd be too overwhelming in flavor for a Salad, though I've never tried them that way. Any suggestions?

Thx,
Nee'

Aren't mustard greens a featured food in traditional soul food? Anyone know any of the particular seasonings and herbs that might distinguish that cuisine? It would be fun to develop a recipe with that theme. I'd imagine I'd cut the mustard greens with something to mellow them though. Some type of massaged greens.

So far I've only juiced them and downed them. Sure feel good afterwards.

Hey Stina, thanks for the reply!!!! Yea...my Mom used to make them when I was little.

When you juiced them, what did you add with it? Or Smoothies? What combo have you juiced the greens with? The flavor is quite strong...what do you think would mellow them? Sure Banana would, but what else?

No......nothing yummy......some mustard greens, cucumber, celery and lemon. Then whiskey style, just nail it back!

I'm going to play around with mustard greens and get back to you with a savory dinner recipe!

Could you make an Indian-style dish by massaging the mustard greens with coconut oil or avocado until they wilt and then adding Indian seasonings (like turmeric, cumin, fresh ginger, cayenne, curry powder ...), some garlic, maybe some green onion, and some tomato? You could dehydrate it to warm it up and serve it with 'bread' or crackers made in a dehydrator, along with a 'raita' that you could make with 'yogurt' from cashews, shredded cucumber, and other spices. Would something like this work?
