Well, you helped me with one miracle so I'm turning to you to help me with another needed.
My nose continually 'runs'. Non-stop. Pain in the you know what. And embarrassing, especially when with clients.
I have gone totally raw and loving it. No nuts, only sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Bare basics and keeping it simple. Even when I wasn't raw and stopped dairy, it still did no good.
So, any ideas? I've tried homeopathic remedies, even when desperate used my husband'sallergy nose spray (uch!).
This would be my next miracle.

Do you live where there is a lot of polution? I know when I moved from the country to the city I got a runny nose like that. It only goes away when i go out of town and comes right back when I get home. I'm praying that we get some good sales on my business so we can move out of the city again.

I have several allergies to pets, and some pollens in the spring/summer. About a year ago I invested in a air purifier. It has done wonders for me. Depending on what is causing your runny nose, this could help. There are some really expensive and some a lot cheaper. It helps me sleep better, and fresh air in the winter helps me a lot. Even if it's just opening the back door for a few breathes.
I used to be on zyrtec and nasal sprays. They helped somewhat when I wasn't raw. Once I starting eating a high raw diet, I'd actually catch myself forgetting to take my meds... So eventually I did away with them altogether. But it took awhile.

Thank you for answering - This has been going on since a teenager, I am now 57. I have lived in the city and the country and now the desert.
I have used a very high end air purifier, loved the fresh air but didn't do anything nose wise.
Thank you, though.

How long have you been raw? The only other thing I can think of is have patience and maybe it will clear up over time. With being raw for a long time that is. Toxins and impurities may stay in the body longer than others??
Wish I could give ya some relief cause I know how much it sucks to not be able to breath normally. I always slept with my mouth wide open breathing thru my mouth. Not fun. :(
Good luck hope you find something.

BlackKat - are you saying after an extended length of time of eating raw, you stopped sleeping with your mouth opened? I do that also.
And I noticed (paying close attention to solve this ) that I am holding my breath, not on purpose, it is just very subtle, I don't even realize I'm doing it. So, I am staying aware and taking deep breaths as well as normal breaths, as if my respiratory system needs help doing it.
It's only a couple of weeks totally raw. Before that doing most of day raw with a cooked dinner for approx one month. So I am a newbie and realize this may take longer.
I was impressed how quickly my having daily constitutions began. All it took was being totally raw, and staying away from nuts.
I look at all the recipes and alot of them use some type of nut to make. So I know there are substitutes. just have to figure it out as I go along and read as many threads as possible.

I don't have a Raw answer for you, but something else....
I have a book called "Your Body Speaks Your Mind" & it talks about a constantly runny nose representing "Unexpressed Tears" in life "Your emotions are literally running out of you".....just non-food for thought~;)

Boy, that's an understatement. I didn't think to check Louise Hayes book.
Well, now that I'm finally happy and have peace in my life, and I've resolved the most major issues (of, course something always pops up) and I'm eating raw, it should clear up. It's going to heal, this raw diet is magical, and brings me closer to God and my true self. I keep telling myself to use an exercise I learned at Avatar, and forget. I better make a big note.
Thank you for the reminder. That was great of you to give me the info.

If the discharge that's coming from your nose is clear (as I imagine it is), then this is considered in herbalism (Traditional Chinese Medicine) to be a sign of "coldness." I would be curious as to whether you have other signs of coldness including cold hands and feet, fatigue, paleness, etc. I doubt this has to do with clearing toxins, as primarily the skin, the kidneys, the liver, and the colon are the organs of detoxification and elimination.
A TCM practitioner would probably advise you to find more warming foods to eat to counter this coldness, and many of the things they would suggest wouldn't be part of your raw plan. Would you consider using teas or infusions of warming herb/spices like ginger and garlic? Of course, the choice is always up to you.

Is that by Louise Hayes? It's always fascinating tolook at that aspect of disease. Thanks

Stina, thank you.
MelanieBear -that all describes me except for fatigue - if anything, I am hyper.
I love chinese medicine, had a great vietnamese monk in Vermont as my practitioner. The 'medicine' he gave me had to be boiled, etc. Healed me of a major disease. When he touched me it was as if liquid gold ran thru my veins. Unfortunately, I've since moved to a small desert city that can't support that type of person. The chinese MD here uses stuff from a bottle (Yuk!)
Even though on raw, if there is something that can heal me, I would do it. I am flexible. I had a friend kill herself because people told her not to take a medication she needed. And a friend die of cancer because she refused traditional medicine that could have saved her life.
I'm not a fan of ginger or garlic, but if that's what it takes, then I will have to atleast try it. Thanks for your input.
My husband found on the internet that it is related to light. Oddly enough, when I am in certain places it happens more then other times. I can go hours in our home without the drainage. Usually, though, once it starts it doesn't stop. It could be I'm allergic to something and too stupid to know. I don't have any other symptoms.
Maybe it will stop now that I am off dairy and other foods.
