Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!
HOW DID I BEAT JEANNIE HERE??? Hope you are doing ok, Jeannie???
Anyway, yesterday's food was awesome....mostly awesome because I didn't cave in to what my SAD eating family was eating.
food:
clementines
banana w/ buckwheaties w/ cinnamon and almond milk
Salad: baby greens, olives, hemp seeds, homemade cucumber/jalepeno/mint dressing, oh yeah, and SPROUTS!! The sprouts really made the salad and even DH tried a bite with the sprouts and commented that the sprouts gave it a good flavor!!! (he is a SAD eater and used to turn his nose up to things like sprouts!!):D
I am feeling so awesome about what I have chosen to eat, and with $$ so tight, I have started sprouting all the seeds/mung beans, etc. that were in the cabinet waiting for me to use....I am "making it" on very little money spent on my own food, and I am loving that I have begun to feel MORE dedicated to ME, even with money being so tight!!
Peace.
Jeannie

Lol, you must be up early, tvillemom, and I am just about to go to bed, thanks for your concern!:)
I couldn't believe how much cheaper organic produce is in other parts of the world! I live in a very small town in the outback , 800km from the nearest city, so fresh food is very expensive to transport here, so we do end up paying more... but I still don't get why organic carrots are 4x the price of regular carrots!
My menu for the day:
Green smoothie left over from yesterday
2 nectarines
some pecan nuts
Huge sprouts, carrot, capsicum and avo salad
carrot juice
Have a happy day all!

juicing with hubby and then will convert it into a GS with other ingredients so I can add my MACA and other stuff (I tasted bottled oj and it was awful, totally dead, almost painful to try (only a sip) to think I used to enjoy it when I didn't juice oj even as a SAD)
fruit salad
sweet potato casserole and small salad
grapefruit or kiwi
I've noticed I'm eating less and craving the delicious, nutricious GS more then once a day. Once I clear out fridge of other foods, I'll sstart getting into GS for dinner. Also, so much easier then preparing two meals on the eves I enjoy cooking for my husband.
Also, never in my life, no exaggeration, have I experienced 3+ BM a day. This is truly a miracle, it was maybe one every 3 days and that's with the use of laxative. Thank you, raw food. delicious.

As I type I am enjoying a small bowl of delicious blueberries!
On my way to work, I stopped and bought a big salad full of greens, spinach, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and olives.
I also bought a mango and three bananas.
Although I buy what I like and enjoy the food very much, I plan to start trying a few raw recipes. Outside of smoothies and salsa, I've never actually "made" anything raw. But I think I want a little more variety.

Missed a couple of days with posting...but all is good.
Another yummy GS for breakfast. Have a couple of oranges on the counter for lunch. Handful of almonds. And a Seinfeld Big Salad for supper!
Everyone sounds like they are doing well. I love reading all the posts and gathering ideas!
Kudos for sprouting, Tvillemom!

I didn't have such a good day yesterday, not that I didn't eat raw - just what I ate did not agree with me.
I made a broccoli salad from a recipe I found and when I tasted the dressing out of the blender it tasted good. When I nibbled on a piece of the broccoli it was okay (broc's not my fave), when I mixed the two together and let it sit as instructed...uh uh. It did not taste good at all. I ended up having to dump it. The worst part was that the small amount I did eat kept coming back on me unpleasantly all day. It affected how everything tasted for the rest of the day. Turned out the only thing palatable ended up being some OJ.
Hopefully today will be better.
Started out with a Green Smoothie
Orange Juice
Buckwheat Sourdough Flat Bread (cafe grateful)

I too have off days where everything is just - ugh. It gets better! :)

I'm doing great except that I gave myself sour stomach from eating oranges that weren't properly ripened. Yuck, made everything else taste weird.....

Back again!
So the juicer was is the dishwasher when I got home at lunchtime. So instead of honeydew cucumber juice for lunch I took the water & meat from a young Thai coco and vitamixed it with cinnamon. WOW!! If you never have, you really should, it is quite a treat!!
I did snack on honeydew cuke juice and just finished green juice for dinner.
Good night!!

Today was good. Menu:
green tea, water
green smoothie
banana, apple
corn chips with cheez
miso soup with vegetables
large salad and marinated portobello mushroom--yum!
I do not like mushrooms! After repeatedly reading about how good and filling portobellos are when marinated, I decided I had to try one. I'll definitely be making them again! And sooo easy and quick!
Hope everyone has a great raw day tomorrow.

Hello guys :)
So, for the last.. week or two, I have fallen off of the raw.. And guess what! My depression and anxiety is back all over again. My fatigue is back. My attention is terrible. I am an angry person again...
So I'm going back to raw! I've had enough. But I'm finding it extra hard to get back onto raw, because I have to go through another heavy detox period all over again... But it's worth trying for, believe me.. for the reduced anxiety and depression... For the happiness and contentness with how I feel in my body, it is worth it! Tomorrow is day 1
Love to all
