Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Hi again everyone!

My day is almost over here in Aus, have a lovely day, everyone who is just starting theirs!

Today I started off with a green smoothie, banana, lettuce, spinach
Handful of macadamia nuts
3x corn on the cob... I love the way the kernels pop when I bite into it! (It must be very fresh though, if too old, raw corn can taste really floury)
One orange
Banana and coconut smoothie
Nori rolls with carrot, zucchini, sprouts and avo. (AGAIN!!) What to do when avo goes out of season???

Was reading an old thread "what would you never eat?" Was very funny! Just the mention of greasy burgers, margarine, KFC etc put me off, big time.

JEANNIE: I love reading your posts everyday...and I apologize for not saying it earlier! It's great to know someone on the other side of the world, participates in this challenge...eats the same kind of foods that I eat!! THAT IS EXCITING TO ME!!

Someone (sorry I can't remember who it was) mentioned that there are some that don't eat very much and that they were personally eating A LOT of food every day....I personally did not eat very much yesterday!! BUT, there are days when I eat a lot more, I am just trying to realize when MY body is telling me it is hungry!!! On Friday and Saturday, I felt like I ate TONS and my stomach just never felt full. It actually felt like it was getting ready to GROWL all day long.....then yesterday, after lunch, I just didn't feel hungry, more thirsty, so I drank some water for dinner and waited for that "hungry" feeling, and never got it.

This morning, I am hungry, but not starving....and even though this was NOT the goal of skipping dinner, I lost 1.5 lbs. when my weight was kinda stuck at the same weight for the last 4 days....my body was HEALING something that was more important than dropping the weight. I AM OK, WELL, MORE THAN OK WITH THAT!!!! This is the whole reason for me staying raw!!!

Today's food plan:
barleymax
clementines (a few of them, I AM LOVING THEM RIGHT NOW!!)
GS w/ spinach, avo, celery, cucumber, sundried tomato, spices, DULSE!!
Dinner time???? not sure yet, maybe salad??? maybe another GS??? I will jut have to see what looks good!!

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT RAW DAY!!!

I'm back on track now that it's Monday...my carnivore hubby throws me off on the weekends I hate to admit. At least he likes and asks for green smoothies every morning.

B: Green Smoothie (I love these things so much): mango, pineapple, banana, rainbow chard

L: Nori roll with miso cheez, cucumber, fennel...grazed on veggies I cut up to take to the game later.

D: Smoothie most likely. We have our weekly D&D game resuming this week. I'm bringing Spicy BBQ Kale chips and a veggie tray to the game. :D

ETA: Ended up just having orange juice before the game and gnoshing on the veggie tray I made.

My latest trend for dinner is so easy and delicious. I threw my salad into my food processor with a couple of dates and a small handful of pumpkin seeds and pureed it into a pate. I cut a bunch of cherry tomatoes in half stirred it up then spread it on flax crackers. Its awesome! I really feel like I'm eating something substantial. And its easy to pack for work since I work evenings. And I can easily change the flavors around. Its great for now. Maybe I'll have some other great little trick next week.
Hope this trick helps someone out there!

What a day!!!

A new friend came and took me to lunch at a little cafe around the corner. I had a large salad of crisp Romaine lettuce with oil + vinegar, shredded purple cabbage, Kalamata olives and avocados. It was delicious and FILLING.

For snacks all day I munched on soaked raw walnuts (we have a local farmer who provides these for us at a huge discount), raw pecans, and citrus. I must've eaten 10 little nectarines and blood oranges!

For dinner, I made a pate of soaked walnuts, soaked sundried tomatoes, yellow onion, Celtic sea salt, and cumin all ground together in the food processor with a splash of cold-pressed olive oil. I spread this over a bed of organic baby spinach leaves and sprinkled a little Bragg's Nutritional Yeast over the top as a garnish.

Delicious!!!

I may have a spoonful of raw tahini with a swirl of organic local raw honey for dessert... yes, I think I will. That sounds wonderful, too. :)
