Hi there,

I'm new to being raw and have lost a tremendous amount of weight. I am trying to gain back 10 - 15 lbs. and having a difficult time. Part of the problem is that I have not been eating because I am having a lot of trouble finding things that I will actually like the taste of and eat. Or like enough to eat enough of it to count.

Any ideas or recipes for high calorie foods would be awesome.

Thank you!!!

Off the top of my head, I'd suggest avocados and nuts as a couple possibilities. I wish you the best!

Nut based dishes and smoothies with a nut milk base. I make almond milk in the vitamix and don't strain it. Alissa's Fudge Balls for a snack.

all great suggestions.

what is it you DO like to eat? that would certainly give us all a starting off point to assist you. saying you don't like much of anything doesn't really help us to suggest things.

I am eating a lot of persimmon lately and they are very high calorie. For breakfast this morning I had 3 and that amounted to 815 grams which was 570 calories. They also taste great.
So far today (as soon as I have finished my smoothie) I have managed to get 2167 calories and got all of my vits and mineral requirement and that was without any avocado or nuts.

Thanks guys! I really like sweet and salty things, I am trying to learn to like vegetables and more robust flavors. When I was just vegetarian, I ate a lot of carbs. Right now I very much miss bread and raw bread just isn't the same. I find myself really wanting sandwiches and pastas and things like that.

Currently, I have found one smoothie that I love: banana, protein powder, vit mineral green powder, goji berries and hemp seed butter. I would like to find an avocado smoothie recipe.

I have been eating a lot of soups and peanut based cacao recipes. I just can't seem to sit down and eat large portions.

I really miss cookedfood, but I don't want to go back to eating it.

Thank you everybody!!

Wow! What did you eat? The persimmons were part of the smoothie? Thanks!!

you can add avocado to any smoothie or make chocolate puddings and guacamoles (salty oily ones!) with it

sounds like your body is detoxing and you are missing/craving cooked food as you release the effects of eating it.....you also may need minerals if you have preferences for salty food lately and are craving carbs -even though we eat mineral-dense food on raw diet sometimes travel times and the soil they're grown in leave us needing more, this is especially true when detoxing.....maybe add some mineral drops to your water?

hang in there...your appetite will come back again soon......sending you healing blessings of love and light <3

Thank you!!! Yesterday, I lost more weight with what felt like a stomach flu, but I'm sure was detoxing. I am craving cooked food so bad, even though I don't want it and want to stick with being raw. It's just so darn hard! :(
