Greetings All;
I am a long-time reader (under a different username), first time poster.
I experimented a bit last year with raw and am committed to making a full transition during 2011.
This is a soup that I make a lot. I'm from Canada, and it's cold, so I was looking for something with a little warmth that might pack a good nutritional punch.
Ingredients:
2 cloves garlic minced
2 inch piece of fresh ginger minced
1/4 cup of sesame seeds (black or white - I use both)
3 tbsps of chia seeds
handful of dulse
dash braggs
1/4 diced extra firm tofu
Optional: 2 cups fresh greens ie. spinach or mixed spring
Directions:
1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil
2. Add listed ingredients
3. Let sit a few minutes to cool and soften dulse
4. Let sit a few more minutes if using greens
Unless I am mistaken, this shouldn't cook the ingredients, merely heat them through, and sesame seeds in a soup are simply wonderful.
Thanks everyone for the great recipes!
