I have surplus:

romaine
spinach
watercress
avocado
bananas
(and loads of other fruit and veg)

and would like to make a green smoothie for dinner.

Can anyone suggest the correct proportions for a good tasting smoothie as it will be my first one? TIA

keep it simple. spinach is the best green to get you started.

add a handful of spinach and some water. blend.

add in one to three bananas - blend

then top with what other fruit you want - about a cup. blend

enjoy!

You might like to watch this smoothie video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXr8-jru1KE) - it's my favorite green smoothie video and what started it all for me. Keep in mind she's making that quantity for herself and her children though.

I like Aleesha's advice of starting with spinach. After adding fruit and blending - keep tasting it to see if it's sweet / palatible enough for you. I still taste as I go.

I love adding some (not all) frozen fruit because I like my smoothies thick and icy cold. *Ü*
