When I eat a cooked meal i.e. Fish, potatos, baked beans and a sliece of bread. I feel great cooking it, feel great eating it, but once I've eaten it I don't feel very good for about an hour afterward. I don't feel sick I just feel negative. I also notice I feel lighttly drained of energy.

Whereas when I have a raw meal i.e. huge salad or banana smoothie I feel really good afterwards. I feel good preparing it, good eating it and i also feel good because I've eaten it.

About 4 months ago I wouldn't have noticed these feelings. I know may body is going though some physical change due to adding in raw food (I'm about 70% raw most days) but I didn't expect these mental changes too. I notice things more and can interact with people better. Does anyone ele have tese feeling about raw food?

Yes, my energy gets drained out of me with cooked food. I'm remarkably more cheerful and brighter eating all raw.

I definitely feel more clear minded when eating lots of raw. And as you mentioned interacting with people is different. It's easier. I always had some kind of a social problem growing up. I have a lot more confidence now.

Yes, warm foods are definitely sleep inducing and kinda mind-numbing. Then we compensate with confection and become hyper and buzzy. Nasty game. Nasty trap.

A note: I use to love Shakeaway (a bespoke mikshake bar). One day I tried a HOT banana and Wispa (chocolate) milkshake. Within 30 mins I could barely walk, and my energy was zilch; I seriously could have laid down in the street and gone to sleep. I was perfectly well before it. Heating foods does something significant to it that results in energy loss.

I still crave cooked foods tho. As I said I feel great cooking them and eating them, but once they're eaten thats when I feel bad physically and mentally. I don't know if its just a guilty feeling or wherather there is something deeper in my mind going on.

SAD food makes me sad. it makes me feel lethargic, depressed and listless. Raw food makes me feel alive, alert and aware.

It's nothing to do with guilt with me... it's simply reality.

In the beginning of my raw journey I felt the same way. I ate raw until dinner time, one night I had a raw dinner and felt great the whole day. So my opinion is why not try raw for one whole day and see how you feel?

Yes! It's odd isn't it? Cooked really dulls and numbs us... It does also make me feel really NEGATIVE... which is odd! On raw I'm very positive.

And, you mentioned that it helps you interact with people. That is one of the main reasons I'm trying to go raw, I find this too. I can get so absorbed in other people, without feeling uncomfortable or putting to much focus on myself in a social situation (I have social anxiety, so this is a huge plus). Also when I speak, I can focus really well on what I want to say, I use my hands a lot more when I talk and am overall more absorbed. I also am more sensitive to the emotions of other people when they are speaking and can feel more connected to them. Raw definitely causes us to be way more in tune with our bodies and everything around us, what a gift

Well I just had a raw breakie and raw dinner day so far. I did have a bit of cheese with dinner, but it was only a little bit. Lets see how far I can go with it. I do feel great if a little hungry for some hot food.

Why not focus on sharing more of what you are eating that is raw and simply leave out the details/specifics of what you are eating that is cooked. What you focus on is what you create... so this way you (and the people reading this) also focus more on the raw aspects of their daily life rather than the cooked.

Interesting thought. I actually don't think about cooked foods like I used to, but I do think of raw foods alot more when I'm preparing food.

Honestly James, I keep saying it but just eat more fruit. It tackles every craving. I should know because I failed every diet because my cravings were mistaken for lack of willpower. On raw, I now know cravings are hunger for nutrition.

Yes, I feel significantly better when I greatly increased my intake of fruit, makes eating raw much easier, creadings gone.
