Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Hello everybody on day 5.
Still on mu juice fast, today I added more carrot and tomato because the have a bit more calories so that I did not loose too much weight in a short term last week I lost about 1 KG a day I think that is a litlle to fast because I do not have much overweight.
The Juice intake include Celery, Cucumber, Spinach, Parsley, Carrot, tomato, lemon and sometimes Garlic.
Energy levels are good and come more out of my office then ever before to at least have a short walk.
Before I start work in the morning I take a 30 Min fresh walk outside it clears my head a lot.
Everybody enjoy the day.

Well, another long day.
water with lemon first thing every morning
juice - kale, spinach, romaine,carrot, apple,beets,grapefruit,orange, lemon
fruit - clementines then sprouted oats,cinn,agave for lunch
may need a snack - clementines
kale salad with tomatoes,cuke dinner, slice of sprouted bread
kiwi before bed

The end of another good raw day!
Breakfast: Big bunch of grapes and a few macadamia nuts
Lunch: More grapes, planned badly, was late for work so that's what I grabbed on the run
Was sooo hungry when I got home, had some sun-dried tomatoes for a snack..
Dinner: Green smoothie with beetroot leaves, lettuce, baby spinach, bananas, and.. more grapes!
I have some chocolate fudge mix in the freezer, trying to freeze so that I can make nice neat little balls and roll them in coconut but... made the mix too sloppy, not sure if it will work. Otherwise, plan B will be to rename it... chocolate fudge ice cream...and eat with a spoon, no worries!
Regretting buying a cheap(ish) blender...it was okay for my pre-raw days, using once a week for the odd smoothie, but this one is not cutting it :(

TODAY:
GS (Parsley, 3 cucumber skins, Pineapple flavored water % honey)
Papaya
Salad (1 long big radish, 3 medium carrots, and radish tops W/O-oil)
more papaya
strawberries
and leftover salad.
And if I get hungry... I'll have apples...

Can Someone Help me with this Constipation?
I am on Day 5 and have only had water and water w/lemon juice -so I'm fasting today to solve this bloating/consitipation :(. I had no bm yesterdays and had to strain to get somethig out today. I feel bloated and gassy. Even emotionally i feel "clogged". I feel that with all these fibrouse foods I should have regular bm's...no?
This isn't the first day this happened since starting the challenged. On the third day i solved by drinking 32ox of water mix with 8tbsp of Braggs ACV, just thinking about doing that again makes me want to vomit.
I am also taking the super colon cleanse tablets and slacked yesterday ( i feel that the only reason a had a slight bm today was because i took them this am and afternoon).
I feel like I should be able to have bm unassisted, esp. with products that include senna. I don't want to become dependent on those.
HELP please.

Mitea - Are you drinking enough water? First thing in the morning drink a liter or more of water. And drink plenty throughout the day.
Good day everyone.
Drank the rest of my GS left over from yesterday. I'll probably have another at some time this afternoon.
The cravings are just....... well, gaaaahhhhh.
Any more good movies to watch. I've watched; Foods that KIll, Food Matters, The Beautiful Truth, Food Inc.,.... I seem to watch one of those movies and it gives me motivation to eat something other than SAD.

My meals today:
- Smoothie: 4 bananas, lettuce
- 5 oranges
- Smoothie: 3 bananas, lettuce
- Smoothie: 5 bananas, lettuce
- 7 apples
- Smoothie: 4 bananas, 3 kiwis

Hello
Another Raw Day. I feel fantastic, no headaches, no hunger for meat or sweets.
But :( my boyfriend (was with me on this challenge) had to quit because of severe kidney pain + bad headache from yesterday. I'm afraid about him. He drinks a lot of water, not mix the food, eating till 8.00 p.m. I don't know what are we doing wrong - or it's a really bad detox.
Please help :(

Since I've been drinking all these smoothies I haven't been as thirsty as normal nor have been drinking as much water. Guess I need to add more plan water to the mix. I feel like I will never leave the bathroom now...

water is making me more bloated. I like pregnant now. I don't know what to do. I may go and get a colonic tomorrow....sigh :( i am urinating. i fee l like I need to bm, but nothing

Mitea, I'm also a little bloated and constipated this afternoon. I think that in my case, it's related to eating almonds while still full from my morning smoothie. This is the second time it's happened to me, and that seems to be the common factor. I just went for a run to hopefully get the bowels moving...
On the other hand, mentally I feel clean and clear. My wife is making a raw 'fettuccini alfredo' right now... yummm.... :D

Haven't eaten anything today, so far. I took out some stuff I had in the fridge- jicima fries and leftover salad.
I am really hoping that the horrible sleeping patterns and what feels like a cold coming on means this is all working!

Good evening all! I was in a car accident on my way home from work last night. Ordinarilly, I would have let the stress send me on an eating binge...but I remain determined!
So far today I've had 4 bananas, a handfull of almonds, and two salads of mixed greens, tomatoes and cucumbers!
Keep up the good work everyone!

I'm 1.9 meters tall. When I started eating raw foods, I weighed 82 kilograms. I was vegan for six years before I changed to eating more raw foods. I don't know if following a vegan diet affected my detox, but I remember eating A LOT of raw food for a long time, maybe 8 months or more. But my health is great now, better than I have since I was a child. In fact, I burned my wrist making caramels for my children the other day. The burn healed in just four days!
Remember to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Too many nuts cause digestion problems. Perhaps he had the headache this whole time, and just started to notice it yesterday?
Remember that you get out of the bank what you put in, plus interest. Good luck to you and your boyfriend!

@Blaque- glad ur okay and staying calm.
@phytoman- yeah I just did a 2 mile work and still nade. i think i just need to calm down. stressing about this isn't going to help my colon relax. so i slight warm so veggie broth and I'm going curl up with a book and take a warm shower in a bit....:confused:

my whole day changed for eating plan -
I had a small bowl of mixed berries and a few pieces of mango.
Towards lunch time I had a clemintine then a little while later, my 1/2 c sprouted oats with cinn, and agave.
I had a piece of sprouted raisin bread for a snack.
And that's about it. Oh, and some orangejuice. I got home late and have been giving my hubby TLC since he isn't feeling well. Cooked him a dinner he has wanted all week. I'll prbably have a kiwi before bed.
I am also very bloated, the way I used to feel on reg food, Yuk! I was feeling so light up until now, perhaps a change is coming?
Feeling abit down (headed to 58 y/o and not liking it!). And business is very stressful during the first week of the month. Looking forward to all the benefits all of you are talking about.
I increased my water today.
How much water is best to drink above the regular 8 - 10?

Mitea, that happens to me if I am eating too many fats
Maybe try and remove fats for a few days and see if that helps

A little late lol!
Yesterday I had a banana with raw almond butter for breakfast.
On the way home from for I lucked out and found this awesome little cafe, http://www.bluenilecafe.net/menus.html, they have an off menu RAW menu and I had the most awesome sandwitch thingy on raw onion bread, OMG I have to learn how to make this stuff becasue it is sooo very good!
Dinner I had raw crackers and some Chili Lime Zucchini Sooo goood! I was actually a recipe I came up with for making some crackers to dip in gucamole, but I ate half of them before the dehydrates, LOL!

You may need to exercise. This always helps me. Even if it is just a brisk 30 min. walk everyday, this will probably helo out a lot. It will also improve your health and your heart! Good luck!
