Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Seems again I be the first one to start the 4th day of this treat.

For me it is already in the afternoon while others still sleeping:D

Already finished my vegetable juice for the second time today, still not feel hungry and this moment I feel great.

In the morning my leggs felt a little heavy but after a morning walk all was fine.

Wish everybody a great day.

I'll be out of the house super early in the morning and won't have a chance to write later (again, it's rent collection time, extremely busy)
Water with lemon
smoothie with fruit and greens - I'm making enough to go thru morning since I am starting day very early
for lunch a big salad with avocado, sunflower seeds
if need be, i'll have some fruit
and dinner I'm making a cauliflower salad (if I get home early enough) otherwise I'll make a fruit salad and have a slice of sprouted wheat bread.
and my favorite to close out the nite - kiwi

This is fun - I'm enjoying the comraderie and all the different combos I can do

Hi all,

Breakfast was blueberries and macadamia nuts.

During the day I nibble on something when I feel hungry, which was a bit of watermelon and an avo.

Dinner: A big salad with sprouts, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, sundried tomato, capsicum and avo.

I have to say this..... just LOVING the idea of not having heaps of dishes and pots with fat and icky black stuff stuck to the bottoms!!! :D

I'm starting day 4 here, and I feel like I'm starting to come out of this detox funk that I've been in. Have had a sinus congestion/headache thing for the last 2 days, but I've avoided reaching for pills.

I've had fun trying out new foods and raw recipes. Had some delish spicy green soup last night! :)

I see I'm not the only one with a headache...
Thanks for the advise. I'm drinking more water (even David Wolfe said, that's important - I forgot about it :p )
But still not feeling well. My mind rejects the food - I feel hungry all the time - would do anything for a pack of crisps :D

I haven't had a chance to log in over the past few days. The New Year has been a little crazy and I'm only 4 days in. But I've been sticking with raw foods.

After jogging for 30 minutes this morning, I had 3 bananas and two 20 ounce bottles of water.

On my way to work, I stopped at the grocery store and made myself a salad from their salad bar...lettuce, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and banana peppers.

Also I bought grapes, two oranges, blueberries and rasperrries!

That should last me an entire day!

Good luck everyone! :)

For breakfast and lunch I had a coconut and beet borscht. Will have again for dinner, but I must eat something else with it, since having the same thing all day will drive me nuts.

Good day everyone.

I woke up and saw the sweet and spicy sweet potato chips thread. So I made some of those this morning. But I of course modified the amount of spice, cus I like spicy. :D I don't have a dehydrator so I just stuck em in the stove at 170 and wedged a wooden spoon in the door to keep it propped open. Not ideal but it's what I got. LOL

I drank the rest of my gs from yesterday. It seems that a full blender makes about five and a half to six cups. So I only had a little more than two cups today. Gonna make another one later today. These are so delicious. And last year when I was reading about em I thought they would taste....green. But they taste so good and they're packed full of greens.

Hi all! I've been doing great!

I've had today:
chopped apple/walnut/raisins with cinnamon...
GS w/ spinach, banana, blueberries, a few cherries, hemp seeds
Dinner: I'm thinking a GS w/ spinach, celery, cucumber, avo, dulse, carrot, OR I might have a cucumber/mint/jalepeno salad I have the recipe for and just eat an avo with it....both sound yummy.

I'm off to the kitchen to put together the cucumber salad so it will be ready just in case, or I can have it tomorrow.

I feel ABSOLUTELY GREAT TODAY!!! I am down 3.5 pounds, which is remarkable for ME, I have a really hard time losing weight, so this is great and I am at a weight right now that I haven't been at in awhile. You know how your body gets kinda stuck...well I am below the "stuck" mark!!:D

peace.

Well, eating the raw tacos yesterday really set my throat back a lot.

Drank my smoothie this am (frozen berry cherry mix, banana, apricot, clementines and red kale) but even that hurt my throat.

Will probably stick with water and maybe eat the other half of my avocado later since it's soft.

I can't wait for my throat to heal and this cold to be over.

Raw food challenge is going well. It's Day 4 and I've lost 3lbs already which I am guess is water weight. Lost 2 inches off my waist too.

I have so much energy and I'm sleeping much deeper. I feel so much more productive.

I got my first craving today. I took my first nap in the past 5 days- I was up at 6am and did lost of organizing, content writing, business planning etc.. until about 2pm.

I dreamt about food ( green smoothies type liquids were attacking me...no lie). Then I woke up craving a cheeseburger, but I dared not indulge.

Lol this raw food challenge is turning my world around

- I don't feel like posting me meals and didn't feel like posting it yesterday. It's been the same. I actually getting bored but trucking on. I know it's a phase. Tonight and tomorrow I am going to look into some easy recipes I can make without a dehydrator.

Horrendous pounding headache for about 12 hours. All I could do was sleep. I had already called out sick to get some paperwork done at home and ended up sleeping almost all day and getting nothing done. But, hey, if it is all for something good, I can stick it out.

When I woke up I had 2 avocadoes with garlic salt.

A few hours later, banana/dates mashed up on top of flax crackers. Pretty good.

I did make jicima fries this AM and blended up coconut meat and coconut water. Will probably have them or one of them later on.

I do want to soak some nuts so I can try some recipes out for some work things

Update- Had some jicima fries and made this date/nut/coconut milk/cacoa mixture. Had a few bites of it. It doesn't harden up, but it is almost like really crumbly granola bars.

Mitea, your dream is hilarious! :) Good for sticking it out through the cheeseburger craving.
I find that when I begin to get bored of raw, it is very important to exercise the joy in simplicity... On an empty stomach take a simple whole fruit or veg and really savor it very slowly in every way possible, notice how it appeals to each of the 5 senses and spend a lot of time eating it in an almost meditation like manner. It can really bring appreciation back for the beautiful food nature gives us :)

Today I felt really good phsically but a little off mentally. But my body feels filled with energy and a tingling kind of content.
It was a very high fat day today, I wanted to avoid the cravings I've been having and thought maybe I should transition slower..

B: 4 bananas
L: The biggest cucumber EVER! About as big as the length from my wrist to my shoulder and fat! Chia iskiate (which is just soaked chia seeds with lime juice in water)
S: 1 Avocado, and a head of romaine

"Day Four" is actually my "Day 1" because I am doing my month from Jan 4-Feb 4 instead. Just FYI.

For my first day, not so bad. I have to say that mentally, this is much easier than doing a juice fast! Is it wrong that I feel comforted to know I can eat a bunch of delicious fruit whenever necessary?

Breakfast = an apple and clementine.

Lunch = salad with tomatoes and sunflower seeds, along with some walnuts.

After work, pigged out on fruit -- two bananas, an apple, a clementine, and a few pomegranate seeds.

Dinner was a few celery and carrot sticks with almond butter plus some cashews.

I am doing this without a dehydrator, btw. I do have a juicer. I'm just trying to focus on simple, whole foods.

Hello everyone!

Rawkin' the 100% raw over here and enjoying the subtle improvements already... reduction in the pain from the hemorrhoids and a LITTLE more mental clarity for starters, but unfortunately - increased gas. OUCH!

We have been moving for the last few days and today was the big Final Haul, so it's been kind of hectic.

I've also been having intense, regular contractions for several days now. Today has been the worst. Spent 2 hrs with the Midwives, and they did an exam - I'm not actually going into early labor, just experiencing Braxton-Hicks from low calcium and dehydrator + extreme stress of late.

Looking forward to getting those under control, as well. :)

I love raw! Hope all are well. :)

Glad to have one more day under my belt. I started to get hungry after my classes today as I was running some errands, thankfully, I had some fruit with me. Today's menu:

green tea, water
buckwheat crispies with cashew milk, apple, cinnamon & raisins--yummy
apple, banana
salad with everything I had to put in it
onion rings
granola
nachos from Ani Phyo; chipolte cheese, taco meat & salsa. I also made refried sunflower seed beans per tvillemom and put it all on onion crackers topped with avocado--yummy
orange

I've had a few cravings, though nothing bad, but I've been through this before and know I can overcome it! Goodnight all!

I had some strong cravings tonight. So I watched "Food Matters". That helped. :p And now I'm eating dates.

Made another GS today. Collards, cup of water, 2 oranges, 3 kiwis, 1 banana. I wasn't buzzing with energy and feeling amazing like I was with the kale or the spinach smoothies I made over the past few days.

I had to change a few things since I worked late -
I had the fruit and smoothie for breakfast
Lunch was the salad with a slice of sprout bread
snack - clementine
Dinner started with a grapefruit then about 1/2 cup of sprouted oats, added cinn and aagave and had a grapefruit before
ended the eve with a pear

My grapefruit was delicious - I think my tastebuds are experiencing nervana

Does this sound like alot of food for one day?
I'm reading the posts and some are so streamlined. How do you do it?
