I had bought a lot of lentils from walmart and publix because they were on sale and I'd been cooking them for soups and as a side dish for my family. Lately, I've been watching and reading a lot of information on sprouting them. The idea intrigues me and I actually sprouted some lentils. I was worried that it might not be good to eat them sprouted unless it's 'organic'. So, the question is; Can I eat sprouted lentils that is not labeled organic? I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and they are not 'organic' because I can afford them. But if sprouted lentils has more benefits than lentil soup, I would like to eat them sprouted instead, organic or not! :D

Also, do I need to steam it or boil it just to make sure it's 'safe to eat'?

Thanks for taking the time to read! :)

You do not need to steam or boil them as that will kill them and the advantage of sprouts is that they are alive.
Regarding the organic V conventional issue. It does not matter if it is cooked or raw. Cooking does not remove pesticides.
I do not think that any of us are fully organic but if you can you should follow the dirty dozen rule and try to buy the foods that are highest in pesticides organic and the rest conventional.
Lentils are not on the list of high pesticide foods. Sprout and enjoy.
