I was just wondering...

What is your favorite Skin moisturizer??... Lotion Alternative??...

I would like to get rid of my Body/Face lotions specially my FACE MOISTURIZER but... what is a good alternative?
And, can you add scents to your moisturizer?....

Thanks everybody!!..

coconut oil is what I use.

I'll second that. I actually started using alternative skin and hair care before i even thought about turning raw.

I also use the insides of banana peels on my face and shoulders. I donno if there is any science behind it, but it feels great in the bath.

I use rock salt in the bath as well as fresh lemon, lime, orange or apple juice for my hair.

I was actually loosing my hair about 3 years ago at the age of 20 and its all grown back now.

I do not use anything on my face.
After a while you will not need it as your skin will re-learn how to moisturise itself.

Skin- Coconut oil . I've been thinking of throwing in some scented oils to mix it up. I think that is perfectly fine. :)

Body Wash, Shampoo & Conditioner: Dr. Bronner's Castile Hemp soap (Almond) leaves my skin and hair clean and moisturized. I use his 'citrus conditioner rinse' and LOVE IT!

Face moisturizer - Live, Good quality Olive Oil

Products : Terressentials face wash, toner & face lotion
http://www.terressentials.com/facialcare.html I used to use these which are wonderful but they're a bit pricey but if you have the cash, totally worth it!

My big thing has always been natural, organic, fair trade ingredients and all of these have them. :)

I use jojoba oil on my face in the winter, shea butter mixed with it on my body. Summer it is humid enough here I don't need it then

Jojoba here also. I shave my head as well as face almost daily. Something I'm noticing lately is as I consume more coconut oil, I seem to need less oil applied externally. May just be because of less time in the sun and wind.
Sunflower oil seems a little tacky or gummy to apply, but I will use it at times.
Olive oil works as well but I like how jojoba quickly absorbs, blends better with a little water in the palms to stretch it, and doesn't remain oily looking or feeling all day. I have in the past added herbs for fragrance. I've also added essential oils like a clary sage, or a sage, peppermint, chamomile blend. Sage and Rosemary were the actual herbs I'd used, which were pressed down and soaked for a few days and then removed. I don't know if that is the best technique, but it worked.

Oh, I also add a few drops of jojoba to my Bronner's castile liquid soap because I find it too harsh for shaving as is. It does help lessen the sting from shaving and then I don't usually need any oil after toweling off.

Happy New Year!

Coconut oil for the face, every night is what does it for me. Often I just apply all over when still damp from the shower. To cleanse my face I mix 3:1 Jojoba/castor oil.

For soaps and solid shampoos there is a friend, a local woman who makes all-natural soaps and whatnot and sells them in her store and online as well. They have coconut and olive oil in them and are very moisturising and come in non-fragranced/perfume free versions. Most are scented with essential oils. The clinic I work for advocates and sells these products as well, particularly for cancer patients.

I have had problems with Dr. Bronner's. For some reason I have found it to be very drying. I am toying with going back to applying sweet almond oil after a shower, as I have had good results with it before.

Cold-pressed organic Coconut Oil is all I use on my Body.

For my face, I wash once every two weeks or so with Aubrey's Organics and moisturize every morning with Aubrey's Organics.

Anything else makes my skin catastrophic. :D

I have been using jojoba on my face and olive oil on my body. I just started using almond oil, supposed to be really good for the eye area. I also use castor oil under my eyes at night.
