I am sure everyone has dealt with people that just don't get this lifestyle, even after seeing the positive benefits....but I can definitely say the proof really is in the food. So far I've given my mom samples of the foods I've been making and getting her "approval" was something that I never thought possible, we are talking about someone that had been raised on and can whip up the most delectable "cooked" italian dishes. Now, she raised us eating very healthy, always veggies, salads, fruit, pastas (except for me and a wheat allergy), etc. SO I was blown away when she was sitting there with some zucchini spaghetti and requesting some more!! So far she has liked every dish that I've made. I do see a convert somewhere down the road...and imagine I don't even have a dehydrator yet, wait till I make some stuffed mushrooms!!

Hey Angelina! I converted my mom to raw foods earlier this summer! :)
She and I have always gone on "health kicks" and when she started learning more about the benefits of a high raw/100% raw diet she started and has lost almost 40 pounds! Her name on this site is "shari" - we've both kind of been out of the loop on rawfoodtalk.com but she has actually stuck to the raw food diet better than I have!

Keep making those yummy recipes for her and she'll be able to tell the big difference in your health too! :)

Isn't it exciting when you cana give back to someone you love??? My mom started a 30 day challange October 1, and she's enjoying every second of it.

Way to go!

How wonderful you're sharing such a great thing as the raw food lifestyle!!! My Mom passed away 10 years ago and at the time she was downing tons of fried foods and a gallon of milk every two days. She had ballooned up to twice her size just in water weight when her adrenals shut down from steroid medication her doctor put her on for recurrent sinus infections.

Had I only known then what I know now perhaps she'd still be here. *sigh* However, all my family thinks I'm nuts health wise and philosophically so she might not have even listened.
