Hi Everyone,
I'm from Orange County, CA and have been flirting with the raw food lifestyle. I'm looking to take the final plunge and go 100%.
I need to release a ton of weight (150+) and heal/balance my body in general. I've enjoyed the increase in energy and mental clarity I've already experienced increasing my raw intake.
But, in all sincerity, the main thing I love about being raw is that it is the only time I feel I truly am able to live according to the dictum -- "Eat to live, not live to eat." As a compulsive overeater, from a family of compulsive overeaters, this is a HUGE evolution for me.
Being raw is actually not about the food, but about GAINING a life free from food. I'm looking for food to become just the healthy backdrop/wallpaper to my life, so that I can more completely focus on things that bring me meaning and true happiness.
On that note, the things I love to spend time on while free of toxic food and its effects, are: Reading/Contemplating philosophy, metaphysics, spirituality, physics, world politics. Painting, drawing, journaling-- I'm a faux-finish artist. Learning electrical engineering at the moment, with my first internship coming in a few months that I'm very excited about.
If anyone would like to discuss these subjects in private messages or instant messages, as a means to keep our minds focused and off cravings or bad habits, please contact me!
