I am totally hooked to my morning cups of either Yerba Mate, green tea, or chai.

Is drinking tea allowed on a raw diet? I know the temperature of the water goes WAY above 118 farrenheit

it is. you can also make it raw by making "sun tea" you put your tea bags in the a large pot of water and let it sit (in the summer it sits in the sun)... and let it steep naturally.

but many raw foodists drink herbal teas!

well tea is not raw actually. The one closest is white tea which is the least processed. as for herbal tisanes well it depends on the herb if it's raw or not.

From my limited research it actually depends. There are organic companies that will not use a lot of processing in drying the herbs for their teas and mates and these would be considered raw. The rest are actually highly processed to get the herbs dry faster and as such are considered to be not raw.
For me personally i like to go to the market and buy fresh herbs and hang them to dry and make my own teas (yes i use boiling water).:D
at this point in the game for me (EARLY) if someone told me i cant have tea their life may be in danger ;)

You can dry your own herbs and make raw tea. I have a lot of dried fennel that I make tea with sometimes. I dried it in the dehydrator.
Most teas including yerba mate have caffiene in them.
You must remember that there are no raw police and if it helps you to have a cup of tea then you do that until you are ready to stop. It is not ideal but then nobody is asking you to be perfect.

All I know is tea makes me feel so so good...

Especially organic raw kombucha, the wonders it does.

It's best to do my own sun teas but during the colder months I just heat up a pot and use some organic tea bags or mix up my own dried herbs/roots/spices. A little big of fresh squeezed lemon and ginger juice, raw honey and some fresh vanilla bean make for a great nighttime experience.

I just make lemon, mint or lime tea. I put some boilded water in a big pot and put the ingredients in and let it steep for as long as I feel the need to. You can also sweeten it up with honey, I'm sure theres loads of things you can put in it to make it sweeter.

You can also do it with room temperature water, but it takes a long time for the ingredients to mix in my experience.

I know Tea isn't Raw and its probabily not the best thing you can drink, but is it really "bad" for you or "toxic"?

I know that I have read that Advanced Glycemic End Products are high in tea but I can not find where I read it.

I found a raw green tea at whole food. This is one thing that i didn't give up. If you want raw tea, you can do as suggested and use the sun or you can also use water that your hand can tolerate (not boiling but warm).
