Hi,
This is only my second day on a raw diet. I really need to do something to change my life. I am suffering from arthritis and have watched the scale climb higher and higher over the past few months. Something has to change before I end up in a wheelchair. I had a hip replacement 5 years ago and was recently told I need to have my other hip replaced.
Yesterday I managed to keep my food raw, but I did have one cup of black coffee. I intend to eventually give up coffee, but I couldn't take the major headache which slammed me in the afternoon.
I am tracking my food on fitday to make sure I get enough calories and taking a multi-vitamin. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Last night I felt calm, the calmest I've been in a long time. It was like I could think clearly again and I felt peaceful. This morning I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a truck. I know some of it is my arthritis, but I don't think all of it is. I just feel drained. Hopefully this feeling will go away.
Sorry for rambling.
Ann

Hello, I was in your shoes two weeks ago. I'm still 100% raw. I stuck with my tea four days into the lifestyle change. I wanted to wait for the weekend because I knew I could handle the headaches better and just go to bed then. Stop the coffee when you're ready to. In the few weeks I've made the transition the energy, luxurious sleep, clear, younger skin and weight loss as outweighed the detox symptoms. Be prepared for those, they DO pass.

I presume that it is osteoarthritis that you have.
I began to develop it in my fingers about 3 years ago. I managed to control it using glucosamine and astaxanthin supplements.
I tried a couple of times to give up the supplements but on each occasion the pains would be back within a week.
I have now been supplement free for about 7 weeks and I can say that I cured my arthritis.
The only changes to my life that could have caused this is that I changed to a low fat raw diet and I do The Five Tibetan Rites. I can not say which caused it or if I needed both. I have read of other people getting relief from arthritis using the Tibetan Rites.
I know that your condition is far worse than mine but I expect that the cause is still the same so maybe the cure is also the same.
I have in the past recommended astaxanthin supplements to others with arthritis and they have seen great improvements as a result.

Thanks so much for all the support!:) Well, it is day number 3 for me and I feel so much better than I did yesterday. I have noticed a positive change in my arthritis in just this short time. I didn't have to immediately take my pain medication this morning and usually it is the first thing I reach for to help me get moving in the morning. I am blown away that I have already begun seeing results! Still haven't given up the cup of black coffee in the morning, but I'm sure I will eventually get there. One step at a time.
Just wanted to add, it is 2:30 in the afternoon and I still haven't taken any pain medications. I usually have to take it back to back to get even a little relief from the pain.

Welcome,
I feel same as you in the morning I hardly can get up and feel headache I belief mostly because of the coffee, I have stopped it completly and before I took at least 10 cups of coffee in the morning.
I'm in my third day juice fasting now and the second day so far was the worst, but I did not give in and continue my juice, in the evening I felt a lot of energy and went for additional walk at night.
Now the third morning I still not feel all that but at least better then I was yesterday I believe everyday we will climb up higher and feel the energy coming towards, I hope you will do fine and lets us keep things posted.
Take care,
Mark

Happy to hear you didn't give up and are having more energy.
I did have a headache earlier this evening, but my energy has been great today.
Take care,
Ann
