Hello!! I have been doing raw since October but now for the first time have gone 25 days raw. The most i have done before in a row was about 10. This week i have not had a lot of energy and have been bloated. For the last 10 days or so my sinuses have been draining since i started "water therapy" (drinking tons of water) and i have been asthma free for the first time in 15 years...AMAZING!!

But then this morning i woke up and had a hard time focusing for a few minutes and was a little dizzy. I didnt feel all that great....droggy! When i was blow drying my hair the room took a spin and i got bad motion sickness. It took everything i had to not get sick. I was VERY nauseous for a good hour after and the rest of the day have not felt good. I have a slight headache and just feel dizzy and my stomach feels not so good.

Is this part of a detox? I have never experienced this.....

I was just about to post a something similar! I'm on day 11 of 100% raw. Day 2 and 3 I experienced bloating, gas and tummy turbulence. That has eased now. Yesterday I started to experience lower back pain and joint ache. A little research and I found out that if toxins are coming to the surface in the colon, it causes this and makes it a common detoxing symptom. But also yesterday and today I have experienced dizziness, off balance, drunkenness and faintness. Generally behaving like a shopping trolley. Immediate fear was lack of iron but I am meeting my daily requirements. I would love to hear that this is another detox symptom and quite common. Is it, again, toxins drugging our systems which creates that drugged feeling?

greent, how much water is tons of water? too much water isn't good for ya. try to max out at about 3-4 litres of water per day... spread out. you can begin your day with a litre, but then just drink each time you pee. i usually drink about 2 cups of water each time i pee... then i'm done my water by noon so i'm not up all night peeing...

I drink 1.5 litres first thing in the morning and then about another 2 litres throughout the day.

Dizziness certainly could be related to dehydration, so drinking water would help. If the OP feels dizzy when standing, that could be related to low blood pressure too.

I don't know whether this would be detox related. I wanted to tell you what I did this summer when for some unknown reason I got vertigo also.

I started getting the room spinning thing and I used garlic oil for a time to knock out any infection, if there was one. When it didn't go away and I was due to get on an airplane, I went to have my ears checked out. Everything was clear, just my fluid was not balanced, I guess.

I searched for natural cures and the one I found said to do nothing. When you get dizzy, don't move. Our reaction is to move to get it to stop. This post said to stay still and let the dizziness happen, that this is the ear trying to equalize the liquid. So, I did that and after a few days it was gone. I had had it for almost 2 months in varying degrees of severity before I found this solution.

I guess it depends on the cause of the problem, but this is what worked for me. Good luck! I know how awful it makes you feel.

Perhaps this isn't an issue of dehydration as much as a need for a certain nutrient(s)??

Try switching it up a bit if you haven't already.. if you are on somewhat of a routine then it's almost safe to say your body needs a variety of foods. Not to mention a variety of physical activity! Do something different from the norm and see how that affects you.
In my opinion, if you aren't dehydrated and you are still dizzy perhaps you should put more nutrient-dense foods into your diet if you haven't done so. A variety of tropical fruits, algae/spirulina, seaweeds, superfruits like gojis or mulberries, cacao beans, sprouted seeds, maca, cold pressed hemp/coconut oil, avocados, etc.!!
In addition, your iron and natural bacteria levels may be low. I've had a few friends show anemic symptoms after eating no B12 or not enough iron for long periods of time. I've never had this from what I can remember but if you wanna be on the safe side and still stay raw, then try raw kombucha and nutritional yeast! This simple addition just might do wonders. Bump up the citrus fruits to make sure you are absorbing iron, that may not be the absolute answer but I've seen it help others (alongside the superfoods I mentioned above!)
That's just from personal experience. Hope it helps! :)

Thanks guys. I only had it that one day and it was gone the next. Very strange. My sinuses have been draining a lot so i think it has something to do with that...fluid in the ear canal.

Definitely not dehydration, been drinking 2-3 liters of water every day for the last couple of weeks and juice, and fruit throughout the day prior to the dizziness.

Mikey, thanks for the info. The funny thing is, everything you mentioned has been part of my diet so thats good to know, im on the right track :). Im planning on going tomorrow and stocking up on the kombucha that stuff is soooo good. I like the Gt's brand, they carry it at whole foods...YUMMY!
