and I love it. I've got the name of the company selling them so in the new year I'm going to contact to see if I can purchase directly from them. I actually found them at the local walmart ($2.97 what a shocker as I thought they would fetch $8+/-). the meat is interesting dd hasn't tried it but she's not to fond of the coconut water. more for me I say. ds only dipped his finger in the liquid (he's not much on new experiences). now i'm looking for recipes to try out that calls for fresh coconut meat/water.
all in all I give this a 4 out of 4 star.:D

here's what i love to do when i'm not fasting:

take the water and meat of the young coconut and blend them together with either cinnamon or nutmeg and sip... it's like a thick egg nog (but doesn't really taste like egg nog)... i adore this!!!

I want to buy some, but I am not sure what to look for, when I buy the brown ones at the store there is hardley any water in them. So what kind of coconuts should I get? I just was looking on line and there is a place in Florida that sells young green coconuts by the case, (12) for $27.00. Do I want these kinds of coconuts, or the brown kind? I want to make ice cream, and things, so i want to make sure i get the right kind so that i can use it all! :)

try calling your local grocery stores and markets and see if they can order them in for you. that's what i do. i pay way more than you folks do... but it's still better than buying them individually.

i pay around $23 a case right now... (9 in a case) - but hey... i'm worth it!

When it comes to Thai Coconuts I'm like all the above posters...
The price is WORTH the nutritional benefits.

I've even gone as far as purchasing them organic online from Thailand. Expensive but our health is our greatest asset.. at least it is to me!

Even when I'm short on $$ for a day or two I'll get several coconuts... they almost give a "high", the experience of eating/drinking them is unbelievable.

I bought a few coconuts and there was hardly any meat in them. Maybe less than 1/4cup between the 2! I live in Chicago, do you know of any online sources for good, meaty ones? Thanks!

I found some yesterday at an asian market for $1.29 each. I also found quite a few other items a lot cheaper than traditional stores. I'll be doing a bit more of my shopping there, in the future.
