Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Hey all!! Sorry I've been MIA, but things got really crazy around here last week. My grandmother passed away and my oldest son and I have had really bad colds.

ESCAPE ARTIST: We had/have snow!!! For the first time in 70 years, NC (the triad area to be exact) got snow!! All season, since Thanksgiving, my DD (10 years old) has been HOPING for snow on Christmas! It started snowing on Christmas afternoon, it really wasn't sticking. The forecast was for only a dusting to maybe an inch.....we woke up Sunday morning to 6 or more inches of snow!!!!

Ok, food for the day...plan:
Breakfast: barleymax, clementines
snack: either more clementines or an apple
lunch: GS: not sure yet what I will put in it...maybe veggies
dinner: salad: romaine, celery, carrots, hemp seeds, raisins, any other veggies I can dig out of the veggie bin!!! OH YEAH...AVO...I will mash this up and season it and mix it in with some lemon juice to make a "dressing":D:D

Hope everyone has an awesome day!!

Good morning!

tvillemom: So sorry to hear about your grandmother. *hugs*

I too have to apologize for being MIA but you know, the holidays... Glad to hear that you all are well and going strong. We're almost done! Wooo Hoooo! '

Everything is well in this side of town. :) Today is day #65 100% raw and I've released a total of 17lbs as of yesterday. This past week consisted of the same types of food but a lot less snacking in between and a lot more water (1hr before or 2hrs after meals). We received our 5lb bag of cacao powder but I overdid it on my first smoothie. WOW!

Today's plan:
-Green Juice
-1 blood orange
-Curry Collard Wrap
-Maybe a chocolate smoothie if hungry?!
-2 avocados stuffers

Happy, Happy day, everyone! Many hugs!

Wow, not many people around!!... looks like we're all very busy for the holidays.....

@ AllergyGirl: Happy late B-Day to your mama.
@ ScapeArtist: I hope you're better now.
@ Dagelinckx: Good luck on your fast, you'll do great.

Well, I decided to come back hope for the holidays... Too tempting for me and I can't resist like all of you out there...:o I think I just need more practice being around SAD eaters and all of that SAD food... even though I don't like to admit it... That food is still appealing to me.... :o So that's why I cut my Holidays short... But I got to see my relatives and enjoyed the time around them.

Plans for today: GS throughout the day....

Wendi, my heart goes out to you and your family. :) Sending you lots of hugs and much peace.

WELL! I'm just checking in to let everybody know I didn't fall off the face of Mama Earth but something else did fall off. Since we aren't to discuss these things I won't. :) Just know Delise, I'm still in for the 5 day juice fast. It's on my calendar. I'll check back every now and then. I don't know which way is up right now. Such is life. Get over it and move on! No regrets! Love y'all and Happy New Year!! :)

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the boards, but not entirely new to raw. I've been doing 3, 7, 14 day raw challenges over the past year, and I'm ready to take the plunge now! My fiancé is going to do it with me too.

It seems like at this point, it might be best to start posting in the January 2011 thread, so I hope to see you there.

Tvmom, so sorry to hear about your grandmother :( I hope you're doing okay. Glad to hear about the snow though! Doesn't it just make the world so pretty..

GreenT, hope the juice fast has went well today

Shaunna! Glad to hear that you think you are ready :) That sounds like some good preparation that you have done.. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing you on the Junauary thread

Still trying to decipher whether I have an illness or if detox can cause such things as caughing (includes mucus), itching throat... The fever is gone :) Which is good, and bad, because if it only lasted 1 day (if it were detox) then I know there's more of that ahead of me.

Some things I noticed today:
My eyelashes are longer! Especially my lower eyelashes. They are also not all stuck together like they usually are, they look so nice and oddly..existent! Also, one of my eyebrows I over-pulcked like 5 months ago and it never grew back (In the right places) but, I woke up one morning and half of it was back! That was nice to see...
Also I have a ton of acne scars on my shoulders from a horrible acne-like rash I had years and years ago, and they are fading surprisingly quickly.

Headache still there, this has to be the worst day for headaches, and I am glad for it means I have an obvoius sign of detox..
