Hi Everyone!
I am a new newbie who has been poking around the board and reading for a couple of weeks now (even before joining). I've been drinking green smoothies and trying a few recipes I've found online while I wait for Alissa's book to ship.
Thing is...I like most vegetables with one notable exception. I can't stand lettuce, and have never been a fan of salad. Most lettuce is unpleasantly bitter to me. So far I have been basically throwing what you'd normally put in a bowl (carrots, lettuce, spinach, red bell pepper, tomato, celery and garlic) into the blender and drinking/eating it that way.
Probably a dumb question, but does that count? Any other suggestions for a salad-phobic to get her greens?
Thanks!

Of course it counts!
In fact, you are doing your body good by breaking up the fiber, which makes the veggies easier to digest.
I rarely eat salads as there are so many other yummy and fun ways to eat those veggies!

Something very important to understand is:
You can do a salad however you want it.
Throw the sterotypical image of a lettuce-tomato-carrot salad out your goddamn window.
You can do a salad HOWEVER you want it.
Try a tomato, avocado, olive oil salad, with a little spinach, as little as spinach as you please, hell you might even find you like spinach better than lettuce. And there's a billion different things you can do to spice it up... sea salt, smoked sea salt, hemp oil, caraway seeds, cilantro, cumin, WHATever.
Take it from someone with perhaps a little more experience... at the core... you are a fan of salads. You just gotta find the right salad. It doesn't have to have lettuce.
Peace out and have fun.

I was never a salad fan either. I get all of my greens from juice and smoothies.

Yep, I'm the same way. I also get most of my greens via green smoothies :)
I have found, though, that having non blended greens with lots of sea salt and things like sunflower seeds and sprouted quinoa isn't all that bad. Just find a combo that works for you.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
I stuffed some avocado, tomato and cucumber in some butter lettuce leaves for lunch today and that was pretty good! Butter lettuce I like! LOL!
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

I didn't care for salad either prior to raw food and I finally like salad and even wheat grass juice but it took me 3 years on raw food, lol... Your body will change and just do what feels right to you. I love the raw soup and green smoothie, so i get my greens this way and some vegetables.
Have fun and congratulations on your raw journey!
