Hi i'm 27yr old female I'm new to the forum. I enjoy a lot of raw foods and now that summer is here I would like to go completely raw.

A little bit about me.

I am a school teacher, I'm engaged to a carnivore which does make my life hard when i have to cook meat for him nearly every night. Having said that he is VERY sportive of my healthy raw eating and has bought me a dehydrator, food processor and Alissa's book. Not to mention he always points out that I eat raw foods to our family and friends if they try and force their pavlovas onto me.

I would like to be able to talk to some people who eat raw and find out how others cope when they have to cook with meat, dairy, eggs and heat for other people on a regular basis.

Hi there. I am new to the forums as of yesturday myself. :) My mom is a vegaterian and my father is a huge steak and potato kind of guy. They have been happily married for 40 years now. My mom did have to cook meat, though she couldn't stand the smell of it, she did it out of love. My dad was always very respectful of what she ate, never even mentioned it. I think what worked for them was communicating why they wanted to eat the way they wanted to eat to each other, and respecting each other's choices.

Have you tried talking to him calmly about your issues? You need to do it without attacking his choice of what to eat, and yet still get your point across of why you hate cooking nonvegan/nonraw. It sounds like he is already very supportive of your choice. :)

HI clb,

Thank you for your reply.

The issues I have with meat are few. The only annoying part is the cleaning up. the fat that comes out of meat meas heavy detergent and scrubbing. The other thing is that I could quite happily just make my raw spaghetti with tomato salsa and not have to worry about making a roast a swell.

I love my man very much and I love it when he looks down at his food and says 'Oh wow'. I don't see us fighting about food unless I was to tell him that he has to make his own but I doing see myself ever doing that.

I think we do respect each others food choices

I don't like cleaning in general so I know how you feel. ;) I wouldn't like to have to do extra cleaning because of meat grease either. It sounds like you two are both pretty good with each others choices and with communication.
