HI Everyone
Im on Day 2.... and rather than feeling light and energetic, I've got excruciating knife-like pains through my stomach. IM bloated to the point where I look like Im 15 months pregnant, and the pain of standing makes me want to curl into the fetal position. I know prunes aren't "raw" but I had to do something .... and that didn't do much. Can anyone relate????? I had cooked soup today, but the real pain started after a bunch of almonds and raw veggies. Now it's been hours.......
I am going to get some digestive enzymes tomorrow or the next day, and Im not ready for colonics. Is there anything else I can do?????

Here's my advice to you... STOP eating. This is what my intuition tells me to tell you. You will know when you're ready to eat again. Just take a break for now.

Stop eating? Ummmm, that's not very useful advice. I have to eat to live. I haven't eaten since the major cramping.....and even then, nuts and avocadoes and hummus and vegetables.

Hummus isn't raw unless you made it yourself.
RDA is correct. Stop eating. He didn't say forever.

Alright..... this sounds more like starvation diet! Im active for a living, so Im not sure how long a handful of nuts will tide me over. AND as I already said, I did stop eating because the pain was too much..... 7 hours ago. So, once I get hungry .... I will have to eat again. My body uses food for energy and I will fail miserably on RAW if Im starving. I realize hummus isn't raw unless I made it (sprout the chickpeas, etc).
Does anyone have anything to suggest aside from dont eat? (since Im doing that but will be eating again tomorrow morning).

You're welcome.
He said ~ "You will know when you're ready to eat again. Just take a break for now."
No one said to starve, ALL body's use food for energy and no one said only eat a handful of nuts. Actually, methinks the nuts are the problem.

Yep. I might lay off the nuts. I had this same problem trying raw about 4 years ago.... I lasted 7 days but the pain never went away...I ate a lot of stuff from Alissa's book (raw fudge balls, cashew nut fettucini).... and finally on Day 8 I couldnt' take it..... So.... Im going to sprout some raw oat groats tonight and give the nuts a break.
merci merci!
Right now, my body's intuition is as reliable as "your stomach didn't hurt like this when you were drinking large double cream double sugar coffees." SO, Im trying to rely on this forum instead.

LOL wut....15 months pregnant! lmao
i think i know the horrible pain you're going through. i have no idea what causes it. but it hurts so bad i can hardly move!
all i do is wait and it goes away the next morning(and lingers slightly over two-three days!!), nothing else really helps. it sucks!
i had this problem and got a colonic AND IT DID NOT HELP!:mad: $80 down the tube, quite literally!!!

There are certain restorative yoga poses to encourage the passage of gas. :-)
By any chance did you blend the nuts and veggies? That can cause a lot of air to get trapped and makes me nauseated within about 5-10min. Green smoothies in general are fine for me...don't blend in apples for that reason.
Are you vegetarian? vegan? or is this all new? Depending upon your diet, going cold turkey to raw may be just too much of a shock to the system. Honestly a few nuts and raw veggies should not make you have pains. However, if all one consumes is twinkies and french fries, then it very well may be too much KWIM? Some people have an issue with cruciferous veggies...brocolli, etc. So stay away from those if you are not used to raw veggies and/or lightly steam them.
That would be my best advice. My DH goes back and forth from a SAD diet to high raw vegan every few months because of his current career situation and it always is problematic going in either direction.

Study food combining. That might be your main problem. and nuts. instead of nuts for your fats try avocados.
