Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Good Morning! I realized this morning that I forgot to post yesterday, sorry about that!

GreenT: we are having a very similar breakfast!! It sounds absolutely yummy with a crumbled up ginger cookie in it!!! Your salad also sounds fabulous! I have NEVER seen blue grapes (maybe purple, but not blue!) Where did you order kefir grains from?? Are they regular kefir grains, or water.....is there a difference? AND (sorry, one more question) what are you going to PUT them in???

I am having some sinus drainage/sore throat problems since yesterday, so today I think I am going to give my digestion a break, as much as possible and have all GS or juice! I am kinda out of produce and can't get to the store until DH gets home from work. My van battery died last weekend and we are just now able to buy a new one!!

I think today I will also eat some cultured veggies, mostly cultured cabbage which most consider kraut, but I hear it's high in vitamins and especially vit. C, so I think I may eat this a couple of times today in a small amount with my smoothies....really since I am almost out of produce, pickins' are SLIM so today is about SURVIVAL!!!!

Ok, here's the plan:
B: barleymax, then: GS w/ spinach, banana, blueberries (that's all, keepin' it simple today)
Lunch: barleymax (extra today to combat this cold) then: GS w/ spinach, barleymax, dried tomato, celery, carrot, , not sure what else....like I said, pickins are slim...oh yeah and some KRAUT, but eating the kraut seperate, not in my smoothie!! LOL
Dinner: not sure yet, more barleymax...KRAUT and then: not sure yet, a green juice or veggie GS

I am not sure how this day is going to go. I may be starving later so I may have to rethink this plan. I will at least keep the fats down and eat as many blended or juiced foods as possible, maybe I should throw in some garlic and onion into that veggie smoothie, yep, and some ginger, I do have all that in the fridge.

Ok I guess that's about it. I will do my best to check in later!!

Peace to you all!!!

tvillemom Woke up with a sore throat, too. Ginger + Garlic in my juices for the next two days. :)

Okay... I feel 20x better and like I'm back! Pheeeeeeew! LOL Hiiiiiiiiii! :D Woke up early this morning to stretch (doing it 2x/day and my body feels great, more flexible, etc) and did a Pilates ab workout. Maybe I'll go for a long walk this afternoon.

Todays plan:

Meal 1: Green Juice (Kale, lots of Spinach, parsley, celery, 1/4 Jalapeño, Ginger, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 lemon, 1 apple) & 1 banana later

Meal 2: Usual Salad

Meal 3: Collard Veggie Wrap

I am in today. Even though I am living with a non-raw food roommate, i got rid of all my unraw foods today. So the only thing I have in my ice box is a pitcher of smoothie and a freezer full of frozen leafy greens and fruit to make future smoothies.

I swear that I am going to lose a pants size before New Year's Day smoothing like crazy. :D

Happy Thursday to all of you. :) Wow...I need more sleep but oh well, the day calls aaaaaaand, I'm still raw, so soooo what? I just grabbed some raw foods today. I have guac w/raw crackers, Lara bar, herbal tea, kale chips, ginger snaps and a green smoothie....man...there's just not enough time to uncook the way I'd like. Maybe I ought to start thinking, "I have time." :) Anyway, it's a great day and I'm loving life. Enjoy your day! :)

Good afternoon!!!..... And before I forget... I hope all of you have a great Thursday..... ;)

I didn't post yesterday eather... but we're still here and RAW....
Yesterday I had 2 green smothies, some papaya and some dehidrated peas.... Those were very good for those crunch day Cravigs!!!...

This morning I had a GS with Spinach, Orange juice, Strawberries and some "LAMBSQUARTERS"... I had never heard of this before.... but I did know what they were in spanish... but I tdidn't know what they were in English... :D.... I guess they're some kind of eatable grass weed.... I don't know but they're good in my GS...

For lunch I'm having a 3 color bell pepper salad... it's very good... I kind of missed chewing ...:D.... later on today I'll have an other GS.... and perhaps some fruit... depending on my hunger...

Well that's all for today.... Have a great day and till tomorrow...

Mm delise those warps look so fresh and tasty.

Pretty hard day today. Well, I woke up feeling raw power! You know when everything you come in contact with just feels right? It was one of those moments of actually feelings raw :D and then I hit the detox again. I was exhausted, even took a nap in the afternoon despite a very nice sleep last night.
I am going to start incorporating exercise into my daily routine because I feel like my body has gone into hibernation mode!
The cravings today became overwhelming. So much so that I had to stay in my room all night while my family made themselves dinner. Now that everybody is asleep, I am still afraid to go into the kitchen...
Snacked randomly throughout the day:
2 cucumbers, 6 bananas, 3 apples, 1/2 head kale, bok choy, beet greens

These snack-all-day-days I do not like at all  but whatcha gonna do when the cravings hit?

Oh, also, the farmers market that I have been relying on is closing in a week! Ohnooo! So if anybody knows a cheap place to buy produce in Vancouver BC, let me know :D Good thing is that because they are closing, there are tons of discounts. 29 cent "discount" bananas, and $0.49/lb for the organics... a huge sack of apples for a dollar.. Came back with enough food for atleast 3-4 days and it was 10 bucks! Amazing

tvillemom: Where did you order kefir grains from?? Are they regular kefir grains, or water.....is there a difference? AND (sorry, one more question) what are you going to PUT them in???

This is my first experience with Kefir. I ordered water kefir grains off of amazon from seller "real-man-of-genius", i dont know if there is a difference in grains? Ani Phyo has a video about how to make it. Go on Youtube and type in Ani's Raw Food Essentials: Water Kefir Recipe. She gives complete instructions. Looks REALLY easy.
