Hello! I have a question for anyone out there that likes to snack, was wondering what you have in your cabinets to snack on. I always have a lot of fruits and veggies, but was wondering what else you may have.

Also any moms out there that have young ones, and having trouble finding the time to prepare some stuff. I always see snacks that I want to make, but my children make it a little difficult to prepare some stuff. Thanks!

I'm a snacker but haven't come up with stuff yet. I've just snacked on fruits or veggies- or make some fudge balls. I'm new at this though. I'd be interested in what others say.

I have made some crackers out of flax seed in my dehydrator, I think they are great snacks.

Cheeze and Krackers - the world's greatest snack is even better RAW!

I keep lots of Krackers on hand because I love crunch. Lately I've been snacking on fruit for the most part, but under "normal" circumstances I eat more Krackers.

There are some great recipes - I recommend using Alissa's book and searching the threads.

Yea, me too! I search through Alissa's book and see what I have a taste for... Here's what I've been snacking on today:

* Flax Crackers with the Rasberry "Jam" from Alissa's Angel Food Cake!!! It's INCREDIBLY GOOD!!! My kids LOVE it! Add some Almond Butter for a PB&J effect!!!

* I still have some frozen Pops I made from the Strawberry Sauce from the Banana Crepes from LOLF... It's just Strawberries & Honey blended & froze in ice trays! I put a stick in the middle!!!

* Nori Crackers!!! From RFFE...great snack!!!!

* Brownies!!!!! From RFFE!!!! I froze mine, so I can pop one anytime...ok, ALL the time!!!!

* Fudge Balls!!! Yum! I freeze mine....

* sliders from RFFE!!!! Sometimes I just eat one without "fixin'" it up!

* Veggies!!!! I love the ole Raw Cheese (Quick Cheese) and Veggie Plate!!! Simple, yet yummy!!!

Do a search for the latest Photos Only thread and see what you come up with! Get creative! A lot of Alissa's big recipes are just small ones put together! Take one apart for an easy "snack"!

Hope that helps!!! :)

Thanks Renee, that does help! And I just got my dehydrator yesterday, so I just did some sweet potato chips, I think I should have left them in a little bit longer, but practice makes perfect. I am going to try the other stuff that you mention and the others mention!

Thanks everyone, great ideas!! Also one more question, where do I get sun dried tomtoes? the only ones that I can find are in the jar soaked in oo. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Haha, do I snack? I'm completely oblivious to any other way of eating! Is there such a thing? ;D

Made Alissa's Fudge Balls from LOLF yesterday. So good and fudgy. Eating 2 of them will be like a meal.

"Cheezy" Kale Chips make great snacks, but residue gets in your teeth afterwards!

Here are some snacks I made today...

Alissa's Eggplant Bacon from RFFE (I like to make quick BLT's with it or just eat it:

Sunflower Seed Pate on Alissa's Flack Crackers:

Cucumber Rolls!!! These are FABULOUS!!!! Just take a Cuke, use a melon baller to hallow it out, then fill it with the Pate! I also put slices of Avacado inside and some I pit a piece of Nori inside! These were a HUGE hit! Even SAD eatin' Hubby had several:

I'm a huge huge snacker and quite frankly, it's the toughest thing for me about staying raw.
But what I've learned is that if I set aside time each week to make some snacks to have on hand, I do much much better.
My favorite snacks are:
any type of crackers (http://28cooks.blogspot.com/2009/01/fun-with-dehydrator-mexican-crackers-so.html) - flax crackers, cheeze-its, etc.
kale chips (http://28cooks.blogspot.com/2010/04/fun-with-dehydrator-cheezy-kale-chips.html)- these are WONDERFUL for snack cravings.
Any sort of spiced nuts
sweet potato chips (http://28cooks.blogspot.com/2010/11/sweet-and-spicy-sweet-potato-chips-this.html)are divinely tasty!
corn chips and salsa (http://28cooks.blogspot.com/2010/01/happy-new-year-and-fresh-new-salsa.html) - there are PLENTY of great recipes on here for chips and Alissa's salsa (link above) is one of my absolute favorites. Also makes a great starter for guacamole.
Cookies - macaroons (http://28cooks.blogspot.com/2009/02/fun-with-dehydrator-raw-lemon-macaroons.html) are especially my favorite.
Glazed nuts -there are several wonderful recipes available in this forum or online
Raw chocolates are also really easy to make and super tasty! I just made a batch very easily by pouring 1/2 cacao powder and 1/2 melted cacao butter mixed with a few tbsp of agave over some nuts, dried goji berries and dried blueberries.

Hope this gives you some ideas! Good luck!
This forum is a wealth of ideas and I always search through it when I need something! =)
