Hi, does anyone do water therapy? I have done some reading on it and decided to do it, my first day was yesterday. I had a headache yesterday and a little one on and off today and my nose keeps running. I was wondering if this is also a type of detox?

Those of you who have done it, what has been your outcome from of it? I have read that it helps to heal many things, one being asthma and also sinus problems which i am hoping will heal mine :)

What type of water therapy are you referring to? Hot and cold showers? What?

LOL, no....its where you drink tons of water. First thing in the morning before eating or anything you drink about 5-7 glasses of water and not eat for about 1-2 hours afterwards. Here is a link that tells more about it

O.k., well, 4-6 glasses in the morning really isn't "tons"... it's just 4-6 glasses.

I usually drink 2 glasses (about 16 ounces) of fluid in the morning ~ often, before I train ~ maybe apple juice cut w/50% water with a Tbl. of apple cider vinegar. So no, haven't done what they are calling "water therapy" which is, actually, other than the amount of water, a good thing to do imo since we wake up dehydrated unless we've been drinking fluid during the night.

They don't really say what happens the rest of the day though, do they?

I think you might wish to read the directions again ~ It says to not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes after, not 1-2 hours. Do not eat anything for 1-2 hours after that.

Give it a shot and let us know how it works for you!

Since I've been drinking about 3, 16-oz. glasses of fluid a day, I find I train more; have more energy; am happier and don't need to nap as much.

Do the experiment and get back to us!

There are a few different sites where I read1 to 2 hours..they all say something different. After drinking 6 glasses I am pretty full for a good 2 hours anyhow lol. I do feel really food today so it must be working. :)

Well, first of all, most people get up in the morning after not drinking anything for 8-12 hours which leaves the body dehydrated and drink caffeinated beverages ~ mostly coffee or, now, green tea ~ which leaves the body even MORE dehydrated. Drinking water the first thing in the morning is a natural thing to do. Most people don't so drinking water first thing in the morning and rehydrating is certainly going to feel better. It's not really "therapy"... it's natural.

As you say, after drinking that much water, you don't feel hungry. Natural.

Eat when hungry, sleep when tired. Drink water before thirst since most people are out of touch with their thirst OR, they'd be drinking water in the morning rather than coffee ... :)
