I've heard lots of recipes that go really good with rice. I just made a curry the other night that was declicious! The recipe imitated rice with finely chopped cauliflower. I really dislike cauliflower... It wasn't the greatest.

Any other suggestions for rice alternatives? I've got tons of things that I'm sure would go great with them!

Ps. I know vaguely something about being able to soak wild rice? Can you buy raw rice?? Still like to know some other options too.

from what i know... wild rice is the only rice that you can sprout. it's easy to do... and tasty. just put some in a small jar with some water... put the lid on and sit it in your dehydrator for 12 hours. it'll sprout beautifully!

sprouted barley without the hull (called hulled barley i believe). worked like texture of brown rice in soup for me anyway.

i thought "they" found out wild rice wasnt really raw but was actually steamed?

Yes that's what I heard as well. These teency discrepancies, however, don't worry me too much..

Aleesha, do you turn the dehydrator on? Or just using it as a dark place? I do the sprouted wild rice all of the time for salads but it doesn't actually sprout, it more less just cracks open. I soak it for a few days.

I use jicama to make rice. I like it much better than cauliflower. Peel and chop the jicama, put it in the food processor with a few cashews and some sea salt. Pulse into rice size pieces.

FORGOT TO MENTION

you put about 1/3 cupof sushi rice on your nori rolls
with either a thick sauce (like peanut sauce) or sliced avocado to hold the rice together
top with mock tuna pate. be creative!!!!! ROLL, CUT AND
ENJOY

Now that sounds like a good solution for me.

I buy truly raw wild rice from this eBay seller (hope it's okay to post this - if not, please delete):

It is pricey, but you don't need to use very much and it is absolutely delicious!
