I love Fruit and Veg Juices and Smoothies and I'm just wondering if I could live on them and only have solid foods like nuts, seed and fruit now and again? Thanks.

Sure, long as you change them up to vary the nutrients. No reason why not.
You can actually add nuts or nut milk, seeds and... don't your smoozies contain fruit?

i've been living on juice for 6 months now... got my most recent bloodwork back from my doctor yesterday... he's thrilled with how healthy i am. no shortages at all!!

i would reaaaaaaaally hesitate adding in nuts and seeds though as these are really hard on the digestion and your digestion will be in a more restful mode if you are only taking in blended and juiced items. i would stick with nut mylks rather than nuts themselves.

I agree with Aleesha, though chia & hemp seeds are the exception. Otherwise whole food fats like avocado & coconut is usually better.

Well, I blend nuts and seeds in my smoozies (probably even have recipes in my book with them) and have no problem which is why I suggested it. Quick way to make almond milk ~ blend almonds and water ~ strain ~ or not. Fiber = good!

I'm planning on going an a juice feast for at least 7 days before xmas. Possibility next week. I'm going to use carrot or any fruit juice as my base for all juices and go from there.

If people get by living on fast food, soda, and sweets, I'm sure that this would be ok. :)

I'm kind of heading down this road. I freaking love the green smoothies with the spinach, different veggies, and frozen fruits, and I could see how they could easily make up a large part of my diet. Throw in some other solid food to stay satiated and we're golden.

We certainly can for extended periods of time, but you're really changing how nature designed us to chew, which stimulates important gastric juices. Also, the jaw bone density would weaken, impacting dental health. Victoria Boutenko has info on this. But it s wonderful for cleansing phases. After being raw for years, I certainly do juicing and fasting and smoothies, but occasional phases of mono eating give me more energy while cleansing. Unlike a lot of fasters, I work and support myself, which determines in part how I go about things.

rev i was referring to him saying he would be living on blended drinks and juices and then occasionally having nuts... that's where the problem would lie. having them in smoothies is a different story altogether... and having them in smoothies when you are consuming other foods as well... (so you digestion is fully awake) is different too ;)

at least it is in my opinion... ;)

Haha, of course you can! I used to live on Hot Pockets and Bagel Bites. Ani Phyo once observed that humans can live on any fuel, but RawFoods are ROCKET Fuel!
