So I just started the raw food diet again and I'm definitely pumped! The challenge of course, is to prepare unique, delicious, and SATISFYING recipes that don't taste like I'm on some special diet.
So the salad was simple: butter lettuce/spinach, cherry tomatoes, and a small avocado.
The dressing I whipped up is what made this simple salad AMAZING. The exact amount of each ingredient you put in will be completely a matter of taste. There are no rules, just don't go to overboard with how much dressing you actually put on the salad, as it's quite strong.
The ingredients:
- Bragg's Organic Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (A staple in your pantry I'm sure)
- Pure, Raw Zambezi Organic Honey (this is just what I had. Any raw, organic honey will be fine)
- Fresh basil (I put a lot of this in. It gave my salad a lot of depth and flavor)
And that is it :) Delicious. If you aren't so strict, add a tiny bit of olive or vegetable oil to cut the vinegar.
A few unsalted almond slivers would be delicious on this salad. . .as would some fresh berries!
