Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

Good Morning all!!! We are almost halfway through the challenge, can you believe it????!!!
I had a rough weekend...lots of mood swings and anger, but I was careful not to snap at others and enjoy our family's time together!!! My daughter had a dance recital this weekend...she is 10 and I really enjoy watching her dance!! Yesterday our chuch had a huge Christmas dinner....no fresh foods so I just fellowshipped with everyone around me! I KNEW there would probably not be any good food there so I had a large GS as a late lunch and then a salad when I got home last night!! It was the best salad!!
Today's food:
tea to warm me up this morning!!
barleymax
apple/walnut/raisin/cinnamon/sea salt YUMMMMM I am STILL loving this combo and I look forward to it just about every single morning!!
LUNCH: GS w/ spinach, barleymax, bananas, cherries, hemp seeds, coconut oil, flax seeds
Dinner: large salad w/ romaine, onion, carrots, marinated mushrooms, celery, balsamic vinegar, anything extra I can find....HEMP SEEDS!!! YUMMM!!
Ya'll have a great day!!! I will try to check in later!!

* Many hugs & Love for you all! *
Hello! Happy Belated Birthday Delise! Glad you enjoyed your day. Those crackers look yummy. ...the mustard greens..tried them once in either a juice blend or smoothie and nope, never again. :)
I'm doing fantastic! It has gotten so that I'm not even eating a lot like I thought I would. Not because I don't want to eat, it's because I'm either busy and can only grab fruit, nuts and some dehydrated snack or a salad OR I'm listening to my body when it says, "Oh, honey we've had enough, stop eating." That's what I love about raw.
I'm drinking a berry smoothie with Brazil nut milk, bananas and water right now. Will put kale chips in the dehydrator soon and I'm making me some guac today! YUM! Not sure what else, but my 'fridge' is loaded so good times! Will check in later! Enjoy your day all. :)

Happy late birthday delise!! Forgot to mention yesterday that when we went out to eat I looked at all of the cooked food at the Country Buffet. It was kind of exciting to me that nothing appealed to me. That might be a first.
Today--tvillemom--had the same thing again. It is yummy!! Apples, walnuts, raisin and this time I added the cinnamon.
Lunch-- huge salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, green pepper, onion, pumpkin seeds and raisins. Had a mustard dressing on top.
Dinner--the plan is cabbage wraps with a mixture I made up yesterday of broccoli and some spices.

Hey guys!! Looks like your all doing great!!
Today i have not had that much energy. Yesterday i worked out in the morning and then we had a snow storm. I shoveled, and shoveled. The snow was slushy and heavy. Finally later on in the evening the temperature dropped and i could use the snow blower...I was whooped. I definitely thought i would be very sore today but amazingly i wasn't. But my muscles and body just felt tired. I wanted to run out to Whole Foods today but we were kind of snowed in. The roads were VERY icy and Whole Foods is about an hour away from me. Hopefully i can run out there Wednesday, my next day off :D
My appetite was pretty high today, it seemed like i just wanted to eat all day lol....
Water
B- Apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon, sea salt & coconut oil (tville, this is so good. I'm hooked)
S- Caraway flax crackers with some onion style dip
S- Ginger cookies
L- Huge salad w/kelp noodles (romaine, swiss chard, cukes, red bell, radish, zucchini, celery, garlic, olive oil, italian seasoning, sea salt, cayenne pepper, lime juice, agave nectar, onion powder, mixed in with my onion dip. This crazy concoction turned out good lol...super spicy YUM!
S- Banana/papaya blended. Ate with a spoon.
D- Skipped dinner, i was full lol
Juice- cucumber, kiwi, grapes
Have a great night all.....:)

I'm getting back into the swing of all raw foods. I have a really busy life so the trick for me is really planning and doing food prep and keeping it simple with just fruit when need be. I'm sitting by myself at work because I realized I have a trigger at the work place being with co workers so until I'm cleaner, I'm going tho enjoy some solitude.
Thank God I never get tired of salads!

Hello!! Happy December 13!
Very busy, blah blah blah.
Been eating the same thing for a few days;
Lots of lemon water
B- apples or honeydew cucumber juice
L- GS
s- flax & corn chips with sunny pate or guac
D- big salad
s- apple or banana with almond butter, or banana chips with raisins
Y'all have me thinking about menu planning. Maybe after xmas!
Emotions-
I began eating high raw, about 80/ in early summer, October 21 I began my 100/ raw journey. In that time I have also completed 3, 10 day juice fasts.
I have sold and bought a house, expanded my business, completed training as an energy practioner (which means I have received A LOT of energy work as well as spent much time meditating), became aware of numerous food allergies, thyroid and hormone imbalances. And I have a 3 year old daughter. And my mother in law came to stay for 10 days.
WHEW!!
That is a lot of variables, but once I went 100/ raw, my emotions have been turbulent. I feel like I am unloading from deep within. The energy work has been such a gift as I have countless approaches for centering in these moments. And honestly, I think that my strong emotions, allergies, thyroid, & hormone issues all stem from the same source.
In this process of deconstruction, actualization, and centering to my authentic self, my relationship to my partner of almost 12 years, the father of my daughter, has been unraveling. This has been 'blamed' on hormone issues, stress of moving, you name it. But it is really coming from a place deep within me that I denied for so long, and now I feel safe, gentle and supportive enough, in my own being, to connect to that place and transmute what has been holding me back, into growth and empowerment. That last sentence sounds quite lovely, and most of the time it is just that, but sometimes it is so so hard that I know exactly why I denied it for years and buried it deep. Deep breath! ANd that's all I can do breathe...
Mais- did you mention EFT? I'd love to know more about your experience, if you'd be willing to share.
Escape- That is so awesome about your Mom! My mother's health issues are the reason that I found raw food. When I learned about this wonderful world I planted a seed that my Mom would someday join me on this path. Even if it was for just a few steps.
Light & Love to you All.
Enjoy your beautiful raw food.

Hi everyone, it's getting late and I wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing!
Blizzardfrisbee: our foods are so similar it is scary!! I love a salad with the pumpkin seeds and raisins...something about all the flavors of savory, sweet, salty, crunchy, it just makes my salad so appealing!!
Ya'll have a great rest of the night and take care...check ya in the morning!!

Mindfulmamam, I'm glad to hear that you're able to come to peace with these realizations and deeply rooted emotions. It sounds like you have been through so much these last few months! You owe it to yourself to be as truthful as you are. The practice of meditation, combined with raw food healing, sounds like quite a spiritual experience... My best wishes go out to you!
I am re-experiencing detox. Thanks turkey sausages...
It sounds crazy but I enjoy detox. I like being able to feel the progress. It makes me feel like I am on the right track. When the physical detox begins to fade, I feel like it was not enough and that I have done something wrong? So the slight fever I have now is... welcomed. I knew it was coming because of the cheat.
I faced a few fears today, and am proud of that.
My appetite was and still is severely low all day.. I realize I did not eat a lot but, if I am not hungry, I do not want to waste the excruciatingly low amount of food and money I have for now... The detox seems to always take away my appetite... So weird for me..
B: 3 asian pears
snack: banana, a medjool date
I was out and missed lunch
dinner: big big salad

Zuri - that's exactly how I've been eating for a while now. I think it's a lot of work to prepare food (I'm home with my three kids during the day), so I just grab and go with whatever is appealing. Also, I find that some days I eat way more or less, depending on my metabolism, energy level etc.
Blizzardfrisbee - that's great that you're having such success in public places. I'm having a difficult time with some close family members, trying to help them break the cycle of addiction. It's so great that you can go to a place like Country Buffet and have no desire for that stuff.
I hope everyone had a great day. I'll check back in later today (Tuesday), but we're buried in snow here in W. Pennsylvania, so I'll probably be out with the snow blower in the early morning :) .
Peace!
