Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Good day all! Whew, finally checking in. Day 12, wooooow! Boy does it feel good! Things have been a bit hectic but I haven't forgotten all of you. I'm still in the challenge. It' going to be great to be raw bringing in 2011. It would be even greater to bring in spring raw too! That's a ways off. *thinking one day at a time grasshopper, hehe :)

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing a short juice fast of about 5 days at some point as well. I'm sipping right now on a banana, blueberry, strawberry, Brazil nut milk w/water smoothie. It's my first one in several days! YUM!

I feel pretty darn good. The cold weather isn't getting to me, which is nice. How's everyone else? Will try to check back later. :) Keep up the good work!

L- The rest of my Pad Thai and some caraway flax crackers with my own concoction of a dip (cashews, onion, garlic, salt, lemon, celery and getting some chives tomorrow) Its pretty good so far...

I'm feeling pretty good today. I started to do some push-ups today after a few days off  but it's better to do some then none at all.

My little six-year-old is running all around the house. It's amazing what some bodies can do even on junk food. I could never do the athletic stunts she does when I was her age. I think that maybe her talents are at least due to some influence on my part... I keep pushing fresh fruits and vegetables for their meals.

It's strange, b/c I don't even want that stuff. I helped my wife and kids make cookies today, and I kind of feel like a grown child who is making playdough. And it's kind of gross thinking that the kids are eating playdough, but whatever. I can't force my ways onto them.

I finally found a decent bag of avocado at the wholesale market the other day. Usually I'm just ho-hum about food (I don't really prepare stuff), but these avocado have made my day today. It's good that I picked up two bags :).

I hope everyone else is doing good. Take care and be well!!!

Evenin’ all.

Zuri...Good to "see" you.

GreenT...Food, Inc. keeps me on track too. This way of eating isn’t just about me. It’s about our whole beautiful planet.

Vegetize...Avocados are my favourite! I haven’t had any for days though. Got some in the hot water cupboard. Can’t wait for them to ripen.

Kept on track track today but really need to eat more vegetables. Trouble is I’ve never liked them. I find green leaves bitter. Something abnormal with my tastebuds I think.

Anyway it’s bedtime here so Goodnight everyone. Keep it going everyone!

I love avocados too! Have you tried avocado fries? They look really good. Thats on my list next in the near future. For ripening i put them in a bowl or a brown paper bag with some apples. The apples emit a type of gas that ripens other fruits and things that are next to them. It works like a charm :)

Happy to see your all doing great!!!

For Dinner tonight i had a GS leftover from yesterday, munched on things throughout the night such as honeydew melon, flax crackers, kale chips, carrots, grapes and a macaroon.

I made a batch of cookies, they are in the D now. I made Mysticats Ginger Star cookies but made them into regular cookie shapes, i tasted a little piece still raw raw lol, and they are yummy. http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7772&highlight=christmas

See ya all in the mornin.....goodnight !!!

You guys have been doing so well :) Good job!! You deserve to be so proud!

Man, is it ever hard to go back raw after a slip up. But followed through :). I woke up stuffy, depressed, and slept much longer than normal and did not feel rested. I tried water therapy today, and it really helped. My low mood and low energy died off throughout the day while sticking back on the raw, and tonight I already feel all smiley and energized again. Thankyou raw! If anything that slip up has reinforced the importance of this diet, and how badly I want it.

B:4 bananas
L: Big salad
S:2 pears
D: Salad wraps
dessert: 2 frozen bananas

Oh, and my mother is thinking about taking a healthier route to help her depression/ADD/anxiety/anger problems and is wanting to exclude lactose from her diet. She really sees the difference in my mood lately and is persuaded by the whole diet-healing approach I think :) If there is anything I want it is to be a better example for my family
