Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

It is one crazy cold day here in Maryland but I'm happy to be here with you all, alive, well, energized, healthy and happy! Hooray! Yesterday I tried not to snack in between meals so much and did pretty well. After my Green Juice II I went to the gym, came home and made a delicious smoothie (mangoes, all kinds of berries, maca powder, sun warrior protein, vanilla bean, Cinnamon & coconut meat) Mmmm followed by a homemade super food peanut cookie (BF's recipe) I felt pretty good and light all day. Clear minded, focused and with plenty of energy.

AdrianaH: Hang in there, Sunshine! This is just detox and your body is simply getting rid of all the toxins in there. You'll feel better soon, you'll see! *many hugs*

tvillemom So happy to see you going strong! I have to ask what barleymax is?!

healthywealthy That's what I'm talking about! Loving that positive attitude! :)

Blizzardfrisbee Happy Belated Birthday!!!

maisielou1 That Chocolate Fruit Ball recipe sounds so good. *drool* I experienced that craving feeling you're having in my first two weeks. I couldn't think of what I wanted but I wanted something sweet. We bought some raw chocolate truffles and they usually did the job. I just wanted a little bit and that got rid of the craving. Also, just simply going for a walk with my doggie helped me breathe, relax and realize that it was just a craving and that I had control over it. Hang in there!

EscapeArtist Ahhh! That is a tough one you went through yesterday. KUDOS on hanging through and realizing that this is a wonderful change for YOU! Are you doing green juices at all? I realized that once I have these nutrient rich drinks that I feel pretty satisfied and my energy level went up the roof. That may help you A LOT!

Mindful mama I love your energy! Peace and much love to you!

Today's Plan:

Meal 1: Green Juice & blueberries after.

Meal 2: Salad (the usual)

Meal 3 Green Juice II

Meal 4: I made some sweet/spicy corn/sunflower chips last night ( in dehydrator now). Not sure how they're going to come out. Still thinking if I should top them off with pico de gallo (salsa - tomatoes, onions, lemon, cilantro) or Guacamole. Gotta try them first, I guess. :) Very excited about that. Waiting on Tefflexx sheets to make Kale chips! Can't wait!

Hope you all have the wonderful energy, light & love you need today!

Hey...it's been a crazy week, and it's not quite half over yet. I still have so much to do, but I'm hanging in there. Thank you for all of your kind words at the beginning of the week - I've been lurking, but haven't posted. I've slipped up a couple of times, because I just let myself go too darn long without eating, and then ate everything in sight. But today I'm prepared with enough raw food for an army, and I think (I hope!) it will get me through the department Christmas party tonight too.

Breakfast - spinach/banana/water smoothie
I have leftover enchiladas and guacamole for lunch, as well as a bowl of spinach dip and cut up veggies if I'm not in the mood for enchiladas. I have apples, bananas, and figs too, so I should be alright today. The plan is to drink as much water as I can hold too, because I feel irritable, sluggish, and bloated today. Not a good combo when I'm trying to do take-home final exams. But it's my own fault, so okay. :)

Happy Wednesday, rawbies. :)

HEYA Rawbies! Hang in there Suzanne. :) *hugs

Zuri's back! It was worth it last week going through all the detox symptoms. Well, it isn't over, I'm jus' sayin'....because now I feel on top of the world. Just today, someone asked me, "Why are you so happy?" I had no answer except to say, "I don't know. I just am." That's true happiness that can't be taken away because it comes not from any material thing, but from me, Zuri! :)

Yesterday I had no time to post. I'm eating kale chips as we speak and I've had a green smoothie thus far today of cranberries, pineapple, bananas, collards and spinach. I've got a nut pate and lettuce w/fixings as a wrap/sandwhich for later, more fruit and a Lara bar. I don't feel like I'm eating much, but at the end of the day I'm not starved so I suppose I'll stick with the way I'm doing things.

I can't wait to go to the market this weekend! Gosh, I'm asking the universe for more time to plan some recipes and such!

Everybody that is struggling, please hang in there! :)

Just a thought tvillemom...you may want to try a goodwill store in your area. I dropped in one yesterday and they had a FP exactly like mine for $19, and three juicers for $8.

Hey Hey!! Happy Wednesday!! :D

Its such a beautiful day here in Michigan. The snow has been falling down throughout the day and i am loving it. Put some kale chips in the D today, they turned out pretty good! Looks like we are all on the same taste bud lol...I followed Alissa's recipe for the most part from her new book. I don't have her first book, that is on my list..

Todays menu:

Breakfast- Water (lots)
Lunch- Oat Groat porridge with bananas and raisins..YUMMY!
Snack- GS (papaya, mango, kale.) and a handful of cashew shrimp nuts.
Dinner- the rest of my enchilada with salsa

Healthy- your food pictures always look soooo good!!

Delise- Love the photo!! I am also waiting for my teflex sheets to come in. In the meantime i have been using seran wrap and it works....

Felt much better today. This detox business is quite a rollercoaster isn’t it!!!

Delise...I have been looking for a peanut cookie recipe. Would you mind posting yours? I’d appreciate it. Loved the photo.

AdrianaH...So, so glad you are still with us and over that rough patch.

healthywealthy. ..Quite the opposite for me. Stopped bloating from Day 1. Soon I’ll be able to see my feet!

Today I have eaten: oats soaked overnight in nut milk with raisins and nuts, ginger bread, apple, grapes, corn chowder, lemon cookie,, tomatoes, onion, tortilla. Had a warm cacao drink made with nut milk and agave.

I am not very good at drinking water during the day but I quite like sparkling water (naturally sparkling) that’s had a vanilla pod soaking in it overnight. It’s like a cream soda. I would try putting raw ice-cream in it but it’s way too cold!

Delise: I don't have a juicer unfortunately.. So green juices are not available :(

Thanks for all the support you guys!

Mindfulmama: Your post is so motivating. Something great for us all to look back on if we're in a state of detox panic. Thankyou for sharing that

I thought I'd share that, the scales say I'm at 125 today  I started this thing at 129!!! I went to the doctors last week for an iron-blood test, and the scale read 129. Then I was back at the doc's to get some more bloodwork done, and he wanted to weight me. I stood on the scale, and said "129 right?" and he replied "Nope, 125". =] I believe at least 3 pounds of that was bloating, becuase I was a very swollen girly when I began this. But yay!

Today was rough again... Last night was rougher though. Fever, sore throat and very bad insomnia last night. My skin is beginning to come alive with these big painful pimples, in random spots over my body. It's pretty nasty and it is really motivating, proof of those harmful toxins that have been living in me. My lower stomach has been hurting very badly on and off.. I think my fat intake is wayy too high, because I am not feeling the raw..flow.. anymore. Too many avocados and not enough other food. I will shorten it to half of an avocado tomorrow...and see if this helps.

We made it to day 8 :) :D
