Even though I have a vast majority of dvd's I tend to only use a few that really resonate with me. Hopefully I will see some new dvd's and want to add it to my Christmas list to check them out.... Thank you so much for this thread! I'm new to Yoga and just started a couple of months ago but LOVE IT. Right now I'm doing Kundalini yoga but have been thinking of looking at other DVD's.
THANKS a bunch!

RP, I've been wanting to start doing yoga, but haven't been sure what to start with. Could you recommend something good for a beginner that wouldn't be too intense right off the bat?

AG- I would recommend Suzanne Deason- Yoga Conditioning for Women. An A++++ in my book. It is wonderful. She also has Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss which I love more than the above. I should have wrote that one first. That is where I began. Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste are more advanced. Ohhhh another one I like is Rainbeau Mars Scared Yoga Practice- Vinyasa Flow for Beginners. I just got that out from Netflix a week ago and I really like it.

I get tons from netflix. That way I can see who I like and don't like. I just stumbled onto Rainbeau Mars when I saw an interview with her and thought I should give her stuff a try. She has a really good tone to her voice, and her words resonate with me. She has a new dvd coming out called Rayoka, that is part yoga and martial arts. You can see it on her website. I asked my hubby for it for Christmas. When i finally do it I will give you my thoughts on it.

I think Rodney Yee is pretty good, but I mostly buy his stuff because it's so well known around here (PA). Anything from Gaiam Corp. is good. I've purchased Power Yoga, Yoga Burn, and the Advanced Yoga package set. The Advanced set is nice, as it comes with separate routines for breath workouts, arm balance, and leg routines. Only the arm balance exercise is really advanced.
I hope this helps!

I adore my Shiva Rea 'Yoga Shakti' DVD. Its so awesome because it has a 'yoga matrix' option and you can design your own yoga practice, customizing the poses and time. AWESOME!

I have a Power Yoga Total Body video... sounds cheesy I know, but it's not bad! It's very simple, one man on top of a mountain, calmly directing you through the poses, nice music, nice scenery.
Sometimes I want to laugh though because he's just so casual about it, like "Return to ____ pose, and hold", and he executes the things so perfectly you honestly think that it's easy, next thing you know you end up falling on your butt trying to do this crazy pose.
