Hi guys!
Just picked up some Raw Sauerkraut yesterday. Haven't tried it yet, it's just sitting in the fridge. Does anyone have any good recipes that I can try?
Thanks! :D

Hi Delise, if you use the advanced search button and find the thread I started asking about crocks, there is a wealth of info.

Hey you in Maryland, I just rehashed it, its an oldie but goodie thread. I feel so good especially in the winter time with fermented food in my diet.

Yes, I'm in Maryland. :) Ahhhh all that natural beauty in Oregon...
I just realized that Saurkraut is "curtido" in Spanish which is a big dish in my county (El Salvador). LOL! The bag I picked up looks very different from what I'm used to seeing. So I have had it before just in a different recipe. When grandma comes back from the motherland I'll have to post hers. :)
Thanks again for the info!

not sure where in maryland you are, but the DEEP ROOTS brand kraut from M O M 's is really good and the only one Ive ever really liked (didnt even like my OWN :/ ) specifically the red cabbage one but not sure if they still carry it

i lived in dc for 8 years. do they still have the RED cabbage kraut? i liked that one better than the green, but last few times i was there to visit they only had the green. i CANT get my kraut to turn out like theirs though. i guess its lactofermented which means maybe they use a starter? dunno. all other kraut ive tasted, even the rejuvenative foods one, had an underlying "dead" or yuck taste to me but the deep roots, specifically the red one, was fab. the cordiander carrots are nice too.
if you ever get the chance to go to a potluck at Natural Zing out in maryland, GO! too bad just missed thanksgiving one!
