Hey everyone! I am going to be reentering the raw lifestyle for a second time... This time hopefully on a much longer basis

Some background, I live in Nor Cal, I'm gunna be entering college in the San Francisco area soon, and although it's going to be a challenge keeping up the raw lifestyle I'm hoping that I'll be able to prevail.

Being healthy is really important to me, I've always been skinny, and surprisingly also kind of a couch potato (naturally high metabolism - it's awesome). I'd prefer to get out of that and into a healthier lifestyle, and for me that means raw and organic diet, and working out

I've actually considered doing a large raw food experiment on myself to prove to people around me that raw food is a really great lifestyle, but I feel like I'd rather spend time improving myself completely than limiting myself to the parameters of an experiment

So yeah, that's pretty much me in a nutshell :)

Hey Moe. Welcome. I wish you the best in your return to raw. I would suggest just getting your game plan together. Smoothies with nut milk, fruit, greens, hemp etc. are heavier foods and great on the run. Make a supply of food to last several days. Carry a stash in your backpack-dates and brazil nuts together-yum. You can do it and we are here to support you!

Don't do it to prove it to others, do it for yourself. You don't know if you'll be one of those people who are a hundred percent from the git go or the type who slowly builds up their raw percentage. And you'll never know what individual tweaking you'll need as an individual.

@DawnD that's great advice, thank you. I'll be doing this with my brother, and we juice for three or four days at a time so it's easier on us. While it'd be nice to have everything fresh, that's too time consuming =)

@Stina that's very true. i do have a little bit of experience with raw, as I did do it once before, and I had to slowly build into it. I'm hoping to be able to jump straight into it this time, but if I have to I'll go slowly.

Hey Moe,

I think there's a whole lot of bacteria in the intestines that can keep people from losing / gaining weight. It's important to keep that in mind when you're starting out. There are different methods people use to sweep the body of that bacteria.

I think I had the most success when I was raw - about a year of push-ups and pull-ups. I gained about 12 lbs (5 kg) and my hair and skin looked amazing. When I crashed into cupcakes and stir fry (month of November), I lost about half of that - down 184 kg to 182 kg.

Best advice: stay raw, go easy on the nuts. Look up Tim Van Orden.
