Today is my 3rd attempt at doing a week-long smoothie fast. I REALLY want to do this. However, about the middle of the day I get an upset stomache. Is there a solution to this? Maybe some "secret" ingredient I can put in the smoothie that will help?
Is this common?

We have no idea what you ARE putting in your smoothies or, what else you're doing. Not enough information.

Today I had Mango, spinach, water and Agave. I drink one in the morning on an empty stomch. :)

Make sure you're trying lots of different greens and/or combination of greens. For instance, kale doesn't really sit well with me and it took me a couple of weeks to narrow it down and realize this when I first started. Just like with a lot of other things it's a constant experiment to find the right thing for YOUR body. Good luck!

"Upset Stomach"....as in....pooping?....sorry if it's TMI, but if you are not "going" on a regular basis - it might be helping in that area.....drinking water is super important for staying regular as well.....I know green smoothies always get me "going"....;)
If you have a juicer - you could always do a juice fast instead....just putting it out there....:)

This is most likely due to your increase of green leafy veggies. The side of effect of upgrading your fiber intake with leafy veggies is upset stomach until your body gets use to the situation, it will soon go away. Dr. Oz had a show about a few days ago, how bacteria in the stomach "consume" the leafy veggies and the bacteria poops in your stomach. This is one of the main reason why people have gas and fart a lot when eating leafy veggies. The bacteria poops and all the poop creates gas. Gross I know, but I think it is good bacteria, not bad.

Yes, I think it's the increase of fiber intake too. It's a good thing to get all those greens and such, but you must drink lots and lots of water. The more water you drink, the better. Especially first thing in the morning, when you haven't had anything to drink for so long. I have a water jug that says "Life is Good" on it and I carry it with me wherever I go. It sounds so simple--drink water--but you'll see. It'll make you feel loads better.
