Okay... I have to share...

I am sooooooooooooooooooooo full of energy today that I can't stop smiling and want to jump off my desk and go for a walk. Feeling amazing... Seriously. It is only day two and with the exercise I feel 5x better.

Feelin' like I had 10 cups of "happy" today... Bringing a couple home for my honey... :D

Going for a walk after work, heading to the grocery store and then dinner/movie (not hollywood movie, but informative, positive stuff ).

Morning Kundalini yoga tomorrow with Pumpkin Spice CANDLES, Monk! ;)

Good morning, Sunshine!

Yes, I always do the Gaiam 'Kundalini Yoga DVD with Gurmukh'. Her voice is wonderful and soothing. :) I just started a couple of months ago and am in the beginning stages. Still trying to master positions. ;) So I will be looking into others sometime next month. Any recommendations? I'm top heavy for my size (if you know what I mean) and have had problems with posture and back. I find this extremely helpful to my spine. It LOVES IT! Specially the rolling.

Hope you have a wonderful day movin'!

Happy Friday afternoon everyone!!

so this week I have done Mon, Wed, Fri 30 min of pilates (10 min each lower, upper, abs) with a resistance band, and walked 3 miles in 60 min on the treamill followed by streatching. I also did 3 miles on alternate days as well. Planning a nice long beach walk this weekend with the dogs.

Next week I don't know if I'll do the pilates again or switch it up and do some free-weights to keep my body guessing!

Thanks for sharing and providing motivation everyone! :)

Sat. 12/4/10~Happy Weekend to Everyone!!~

I just did a yoga dvd "Chakra Balancing Yoga" - 55min
This was the first time I did this dvd & I liked it :)
If you are interested in both chakras & yoga - this is a good video to check out - it includes poses for the chakras & mantras as well. She also does some visualizations & affirmations while doing the poses. I feel very centered after having done it - even though I couldn't do all the poses....

The dvd also includes some additional info on each chakra in the bonus features....nice~

HAPPY Monday, everyone!!!

Okay, so this weekend was a great one. Got many things done and my body is feeling gooooooooooooood! :D I feel strong, healthy, flexible and wonderful! Stretching is very important so I have been doing it before bed and in the morning. It's only been 5 days and I already feel a drastic change in my body. Can't wait to see how the 30days will turn out.

Day 4: Full body workout
Back:

Assisted Pull ups - 2 sets of 12 with 120lbs assisted
Deadlifts - 2 sets of 12 with 40lb barbell

Chest:
Dumbbell Press - 2 sets of 12 with 20lbs dumbbells

Shoulders
Barbell overhead presses - 2 sets of 12 with 20lb barbell

Arms:
Barbell curls: 2 sets of 12 with 30lb barbell
Assisted Dips: 2 sets of 12 with 120lbs assisted (goal = body weight)
Overhead curls (Triceps): 2 sets of 12 with 70lbs

Mid-Section:
Incline sit-ups - 4 sets of 10 with 20lbs & 3 sets of 10 (sides) same weight
Leg lifts - 4 sets of 5 - body weight

Legs:
-ATG squats: 2 sets of 10 with 110lbs
-Stair calf exercise with body weight
-Hamstring Curls - 2 sets of 8 with 35lbs

*I'm increasing the intensity of the workout by doing the sets as sloooow as I can. I feel that I get a better workout this way. *

Day 5: light cardio at home - running around with nephews/nieces. hehe It was FREEZING in Maryland. I've decided to change my HIIT to walking instead with my doggie. It a natural body movement and I'm not putting too much strain on my temple. I want to work WITH my body and give it time to rest.

Day 6: Woke up late this morning. The power went out and reset our clocks so I couldn't wake up at 4:30am for Yoga. :( BUT I will be doing Yoga when I get home from work.

Hope you all are moving and enjoying the fantastic body transition!!!

*many hugs & HAPPY MOVIN'*

This is what I have been looking for plus support on keeping the nut and date intake in check along with stress eating, entertainment eating, and feeling lonely eating ;-)

Today I went sledding with DD, XC skiing (that was the plan, but hiked instead because I forgot ski boots and was so bummed), and did Pilates. I just bumped up to the next level of Pilates and we actually broke a sweat and I was seriously breathing. Pilates is the best thing that I have found to really heal a lot of body issues. I am so much stronger than I was last spring *AND* I now go the chiro or rolfer on rare occasions---woohoo!!!!! I have just started upping my workouts after T-day. I am feeling so good. I do much better if I work out every day.

Going sledding and XC skiing tomorrow.
Thurs. Pilates
Fri. Pilates
Sat. Pilates
Sun. XC-skiing.

I had a serious acute plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis in Aug/Sept., so I had to back off on a lot of physical activity so as to not provoke the angry beast and now I am finally able to get back to working out hard after having gained some pounds since Sept.

Looking to lose those and then some. 5-10lb.

Denise Nicole Welcome! Welcome! Your workout schedule looks fantastic. So glad you're here with us and I'm sure we will all learn a lot from you.

babeak: Ahhh sledding! That's what I'm talking about - Awesome!!! Do you use any particular Pilates DVD?

Yesterday = Weightlifting:

-Dumbell Rows - 2 sets of 10 with 25lbs
-Deadlifts - 2 sets of 12 with 40lbs barbell

Arms:
-Assisted Dips - 2 sets of 10 with 60 assisted lbs (getting there! :D)
-Dumbbell Tricep Extensions- 2 sets if 10 with 20lbs dumbbell
-Barbell Curls - 2 sets of 12 with 30lb barbell

-Hamstring Curls - 2 sets of 10 with 35lbs
-ATG squats - 2 sets of 12 with 95lbs Barbell

Today I will go for a long walk today. I feel like I really need it. Sitting for 8hrs straight at work is making my booty go numb. LOL! Must go to gym for that today walk. It is 20 degrees here in Maryland. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr :p

I have noticed many changes in my body even with just ONE week of dedicated exercise. My arms (which were my biggest problem due to the 15lbs I lost in a short period of time.) Have come back and are looking good. ;) Thank you DIPS!!!! My entire body feels more defined and toned. I'm really liking this... Can't wait to see the final results at the end of the month.

Hey all!

So I took a break this weekend, we were supposed to do a hike but it fell through....my husband is handy at everything and so gets asked to help everyone, and he's one of those "can't say no" types...but he's beginning to get over that. I digress...

Monday - 2 set/12 reps of three upper body/ three lower body/ three abs
First set was done with 25 jumping jacks in between, second set done as a whole power set
30 min on treadmill with 1 minute running intervals

Tuesday - migraine....did nothing though I should have

Wednesday - 60 min on treadmill, 1st mile (3mph) 0 incline, 2nd mile on a 5 incline with arm resistance (I have a crosswalk), 3rd mile on a 0 incline
2 sets of 12 reps of push-ups, arm dips, 2 types of squats

Tonight I'll do more cardio and some ab work....if I write it I HAVE to do it! :)

Monk:  That's A LOT of snow!

I've been keeping up and doing pretty well with my workouts. Rotating Yoga, Walking, weightlifting with a rest day. I've been stretching at least 2x/day which has helped immensely. I feel light, strong and flexible.

Thurs: Birthday (Had to start the day off right with AM yoga) :D

Fri: OFF

Sat: Weightlifting - the usual

Sun: Walking 40mins

Today: Evening Yoga - I had trouble sleeping last night (strange). Maybe it was the fact that I slept in until 10am Sunday (shhhhhhhhhhh ;)) I only got 3-4hrs of sleep. No morning Yoga. Must make up tonight.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

I started to work out with a trainer to get myself some momentum going, he's kicking my butt too. Grueling! And I'm making an effort to do lots of stretching to counterbalance it, plus I'm still swimming. With my difficult job I am finding the need to balance it with rest. I'd like to take more fun exercise classes at the gym too.

I'm incorporating that daily 10min pilates DVD from now on. Can't wait to see the results. Those exercises hit areas of my mid-section I never knew existed. LOL! I have been missing out!

It's F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G here in Maryland (under 20 degrees) but either way... Gym for weightlifting tonight. Some walking, too. Sitting at work 8+hrs/day and all this energy are NOT working. I'm really enjoying walking, breathing and connecting with my body's natural movements. Mind-Muscle connection?!?! Pretty relaxing and wonderful. :o

Glad to see you're still here!! :D
What is your NYE outfit going to look like????

Still Movin', Baby! :) I'm debating between a simply black dress or leggings, boots and a tan cardigan. Either way, those outfits looks WAY better than they did last month. Let's see if I can make it til 12am. LOL! I've been waking up at 4:30 am and have been going to be no later than 10pm. Must... stay... up.. :p

See you in the January Movement/Fitness thread?

Hope you have a wonderful new year, Monk. I wish you all the love and light your beautiful soul desires.

I'm trying to find a sub for my yoga class tonight....I feel like crud....

Thanks for the New Years wishes - I hope your year is beyond wonderful!!!!!
