Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

Tville... Wish I could help with the cost of raw problem. Food is really expensive here but as you say, health is what’s really important. Things have a way of working out if we keep at it.
AllergyGirl...Our brains and bodies will fight like mad to get back to what they are familiar with. Hang on in there! Both will come round eventually hence our 30 day commitment. Long-term raw people talk about a bliss they feel but it looks like we have to go through emotional as well as physical detox and re-programming to get there. You have taken on quite a commitment at this very stressful time in your life but the power is inside of you. You can do it!
GlimR...I really like your way of eating. That clementine salad looked smashing. May your happiness grow and grow! And what a lovely thoughtful man you have!
Zuri...Stopping the thought immediately helps me too. I actually say “Stop” combined with physically putting my hands up (when I’m not in company!)
Mindful mama...Glad you are feeling better. I like your mantras and have added them to mine. I try not to focus on the money issue either and I’m with you on abundance meditation. I notice you always list water. Do you do Water Therapy (drink it all on waking) or do you drink it throughout the day? Have a lovely time with your Dad and family today.
Sending EVERYONE supportive vibes through cyberspace!

Morning everyone! I love the weekend. Have a Chiro apt. this morning...and it is helping....some relief for the first time in 4 years...I am thrilled and very thankful!! Less pain means the ability to get this body moving and the ability to regain some strength and muscle mass both of which I have lost like crazy. Good things to come!
Going to Native Sun today afterward, love that store...such beautiful organic produce. We have a Whole Foods here and I have gone there once.......just too easy to drop a ton of money and really unnecessary.
My shopping list-
More baby spinach
spring mix
cilantro
avocado...yup more of these too!:)
cucumbers
carrots
tomatoes
celery
kale
zucchini
apples
pears
buckwheat
wheat & rye berries for making rejuvilac
golden flax
pumpkin seeds
sunflower seeds
thai coconuts
macadamia nuts---never buy these but have to try the grezzo cheese
fresh dill
Will take a picture of the stocked raw fridge when I get home......always love seeing that..knowing everything in there is edible to me.
Having a raw uncook off today so I will have lots of variety to choose from.
Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning, Rawbies. :)
I had a big green smoothie for breakfast - apple, bananas, red chard, hemp seeds, coconut oil, water.
I've got tortillas for Alissa's enchiladas dehydrating now, and the veggie mix is ready to stuff in them when they're done. I'm making a double batch (hopefully they'll be good for a couple of days...) so I can have some leftovers. I was thinking I might make a pizza crust or two later as well. I need to get some studying done first though - finals start Monday.
Not sure what the rest of the day will be - might just eat enchiladas and guacamole all day. :P I've never had these, so I'm excited - the veggie filling looks great (broccoli, red/yellow/orange bell peppers, lots of spinach, and zucchini - I had to omit the mushrooms, since I'm very allergic to them), and I was thinking it'd probably make a great pizza topping too.
Thank you for all of your kind words yesterday, all of you. I took a pretty bad tumble on an icy sidewalk yesterday, which did not help matters any, and today I feel like someone has beaten me severely because of it, but even with that, I feel a LOT better today than I did yesterday, and I lost 2 pounds! :)

Allergygirl- LOL, i know they smell awesome!!
I decided to make the Jumble Berry Upside Down cake, this was super easy to make. I had all the ingredients and also added some pineapple and only added 2 strawberries. But i didnt make it upside down, i made it upright :) http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=60391
Also going to make the Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potato recipe since i have the D running. I don't have garlic powder that isnt all natural so im going to try onion powder and ceyenne pepper instead of the dried peppers (im out) http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=62580
Hmmmm what else can i whip up LOL

Good Afternoon Cyber Family!
Enjoyed lots of great restorative sleep last night and this morning.
Putting yesterday olives in the questionable catagory...too salty.
Also gonna give agave a break felt a little funky 30min after consuming. Definately need to reduce my intake if I consume it again.
Need to get going on some dehydration so I can have a little variety by tommorow.
Had a crisis moment for about 10min this morning. Sat still, logged on and now I thin I am over it.
Intake today so far:
Lots of WATER
2 olives
bowl of grapes
probably get a nori wrap going later for lunch/ dinner while things dehydrate
:cool:HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY PEEPS!!!

I need to make the enchiladas again soon....they are so good. I have used the topping for pizza before!
Done shopping and prepping all the greens, made the french pickled carrots from RFFE...so pretty...will try them in a couple of days...straightened up the fridge so everything is ready and accessible. Have buckwheat on to soak so I can make granola tomorrow. Going to go make some macaroons and see if I can dig up the moonie pie recipe,,,,,,One of the best things I ever did for myself was get a second (small) fridge just for my raw food...love opening it up when I am hungry and knowing anything in there is up for grabs.
Have a brutal headache today....first one......arghhhhhhhhhh...but I know it's a good thing........yup~
I'm sorry to read that. It can be quite dangerous. I'm glad you're ok. Feel better! *hugs :)
Sorry to hear about your fall, you are literally getting the pounds beaten right out of ya!!! Hope you feel better soon.
Green, that was a good one! *cracking up :D

How cool to have two fridges. I too love that idea of having it fully stocked, going in and knowing I can eat just about anything and it's good for me! Great pics. Can we all post our fully stocked fridges? I will as soon as it's fully stocked, which will be soon. :)
Wow, what a day and it's only 1:56 here. I've had challenges this morning and afternoon and I persevered. Detox symptoms are something else, yes they are. Talk about a F-O-U-L mood. YUCKO! I'm hanging in there though. Will post again later. Have a great day all. Those that are doing some serious uncooking with the dehydrator enjoy as well!

Just loaded Zeus with:
Kale loaded with spices for a zesty hot chip
A corn chip of sort not quite RAWritos but something good loaded with cumin and cracked red pepper
A mystery bread experiement of sorts blended bean sprouts with onion veggies and added briefly soaked flax
MUSHROOMS in EVOO, shoya and italian herb blend will probably have this with zucinni pasta tommorow
Overnight I may dehydrate some tomatoes ad onions with minimal seasoning. I have a nine tray so there is roo for them now but I like things to jsut gt done so I never put more than 4-5 trays in...leave roo for circulation and I try to match up certain flavors too.
Soaked pecans drizzled in cinnamon and agave would be delish or even sliced apples with ust cinnamon...NEXT WEEK sometime out of nuts
Made a Macroon Blueberry Pie too.
Will try to remember to post pics tonight!
Right now just tying to get in extra water.
After I use up my bottel of shoya and agave I think I'm gonna skip it in the future...stuff just seems too over the top this go round. Sea salt and dates are better salty and sweet options fr me anyway.
ALL THIS IN LESS THAN 2HRS! I'm set for a few days!!!
Heeeere's my late lunch:
raw kale salad, sprouted quinoa and a diced up avocado

Have you had the enchiladas before?
Yes, i have made them once already and they are delicious. I also top them with Alissa's tomato salsa on page 323 (RFFE)
Life- LOL @ Zeus! I forgot all about you naming it. I remember reading a post about it. You name all of your appliances right? I love it!! My dehydrator is pretty full also, i just added in the Cashew Shrimp from RFFE pg.218 I have the 9 tray too, good thing!! The apple nut cinnamon idea sounds good.
Glimr- having another fridge that is all for Raw only would be awesome!! Yours looks great. We just bought a new big fridge in September, i don't think my husband is up for buying me my own, not yet anyhow lol. My husband is not raw at all.
Zuri- that salad looks wonderful! How is the sprouted quinoa?

Hey guys, just thought i'd pipe in and say that I'm on day 5 today of 100% raw.
Although I only have 70 dollars left, so I'm going to have to get a job pronto.. So we'll see how far I can get on that.
Yay to us all!

uuughhh can't get my dessert pics to post
Green, the sprouted quinoa is pretty good. It's chewy and pleasant. I added some cilantro and black salt. Doesn't taste like the you know what kind but it's definitely close enough for me! I'm going to use the rest and add carrots, cilantro, peas and herbs.
GO Escape and to us! Congrats to you. Make that money work for ya!

My husband isn't raw in any way....I think he was tired of digging thru all the produce to find something he wanted to eat!;) Actually my husband is too, its so funny. I brought up the subject tonight because we have talked about getting another small fridge before in the past for the garage for little stuff like his pop or extra freezer food. I told him that fridge can be his because im in and out too much with my food :D This idea just keeps sounding better and better. I might just give him his own pantry too down in the basement for all is munchies...Haaa ha ha!!!!
Today was a great eating day! After lunch i had some green tea and a piece of the berry cake that i made earlier, that was wonderful. I ended up not putting the berries on the "crust" because the berries after marinating were really juicy and i didnt want the whole thing to get soggy. I left the crust in the pan, sliced it and put the berries in a container.
I had a green drink a little before dinner that was a first time make called Cucumber Cooler from RFFE pg184. I made it like a smoothie, didnt realize that i was on the juicing section. It was ok....different, i would drink again but cant say its a favorite. Im curious what it would taste like as a juice. It tasted healthy, so thats what counts
DINNER i had the wonderful enchiladas (1roll) with tomato salsa and instead of making the avocado salad that i mentioned earlier i had some left over Whipped Parsnips that are much like mashed potatoes (RFFE) pg. 222 All was very delicious.
Had fun today making all of these recipes. Exited to try the cashew shrimp and the sweet potato chips that are in the D for tomorrow...

Went to see a friend today and she wanted to get lunch, told her I was back on raw and she tells me there is a raw place at the train station. We go over there and I'm thinking it's a place that has salads but it really was a raw place. I got ravioli for lunch and took a pizza to go as her and another friend were ordering pizza for dinner later that night since we were spending all day together. Both the ravioli and the pizza were very good and very filling, just what I needed.

Wow. I got on the scale and was down 4 lbs! My coffee headache just disappeared yesterday. I'm drinking a lot of water. Food tastes so good!
I love reading everyone's inspirational words and ideas of what to eat. Today I blended cranberries in my smoothie with sprouts and greens and pineapple. I ate a red pepper and it tasted like the best thing I had ever eaten. I am feeling lighter - a bit on the hungry side but excited about taking care of my health.
Thanks for all the positive encouragement on this board. Tomorrow I take my raw cookies to the neighborhood cookie exchange! Goodnight all!
