I'm considering a fast of some sort, and I'd like to ask some expert fasters for some advice. I've done the Master Cleanse in the past successfully. I'm considering doing a juice fast or a green smoothie fast for a number of weeks while I'm on winter break from school and my schedule is a little less stressful. What advice can any of you give me on the pros and cons of these? Can you refer me to some references/websites/books?

have you read the fasting threads on this forum? there's so much info.
it all depends on what you want from a fast. do you want energy? do you want to release weight? do you want cleansing? can you rest during your fast? do you have commitments? do you have a juicer? do you have a good quality blender?
it's not a simple - do this - kinda answer. cause fasting is personal.

I will be on vacation from school. I might work for day here and there during the holiday season and I have some things to do around the house. Mostly, my plan for the time during which I'd be fasting is to read bad fiction and watch movies. (c: It's been a tough semester.
That said, I would like to clean up my system somewhat (I'm 48 years old, I have a lot of cleaning up to do). I have a considerable amount of weight to release, but I'm content having that take time (I've released about 25 pounds since last April).
I have a little Singer juicer. I have a Breville Icon blender. I have a citrus juicer (a glass reamer/bowl type thingie).
Meanwhile, I'll go through the threads here.

well you could totally do a juice fast. that would give you energy to do what you want and flood your body with nutrition!

So I was discussing this with some friends and we've committed to a juice feast/fast starting the 17th of next month. I have some time to prepare for it. I'll be looking at your links at the top of the fasting page, Aleesha.
