Hello All! I have a question. My husband just gave me an article about BPA, which I know has been problem in water bottles and cans. However in this article they were also talking about the sandwich and freezer bags, and storage bags. So I was wondering because I just got my RFFE and Alissa talks about storing your produce in plastic bags in the fridge....so my question is how do you all store your produce? Thanks!

Most of mine I leave out on the counter in a basket...unless it's really ripe, then I keep fruits and veggies in the frig. I don't have a problem freezing in plastic baggies... It hasn't killed me yet... :D
My nuts I store in Mason jars. I have a high turnover for my veggies, fruits, and nuts, so I don't worry about them going rancid on me...

I use as much glass as I can to store foods in the fridge....have some old fashioned fridge dishes with glass lids, also use mason jars, both qt. and 1/2 gallon size...love them. Anything liquidy I store in glass. For greens I wrap them in paper towels I get at the natural grocery and then put inside bags. I freeze food in Ziploc brand bags, the company says their freezer bags are BPA free. I would be more concerned about heating food in them than freezing. (not an issue for a raw foodie)
I mostly freeze bananas, papaya, berries. Nuts, chia & hemp seed and coconut I keep stored in the freezer and sometimes dates etc. Works for me.:)

thanks guys! i really wasn't concerned about the ziploc bags, but my husband was getting a little crazy, so I thought I would check with you guys. When you all put your nuts in the freezer, is that after you soak them, or before? I am trying to understand this soaking so I want to make sure that I am doing it right. I did soak some almonds Saturday into Sunday afternoon and then I used them right away to make some almond milk. Also where do you guys get your seeds to sprout? Is it too late to get seeds now, I live in the North, so I was just wondering if I can get some to sprout? Thanks!
