Pretty much all the books I've looked at:

Require ingredients I can't find easily
Require ingredients that I'll use for just one recipe.
Require an awful lot of preparation.

I do have "Raw Food for Everyone" here in front of me. There are some good individual recipes. I'd like to find a meal plan or book that's easy to work with and shares ingredients between recipes. I'm looking to streamline my food prep, if that makes sense?

I have a blendtec, and a dehydrator. Will be buying a food processor too. No problem with ordering things like true raw almonds on the internet.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have Alissa's raw books? She has a new one that is called Raw for Everyone. It has pretty basic ingredients in there and so does her first book.

Alissa's first book, Living on Live Food.
It's the best, the easiest, a 4 week plan, shopping info, and 300 simple recipes.
I love her second book but Living on Live Food is still the best raw food book out there.

You will ease into un-cooking raw just like you did 'cooking'. After a time on RAW it will start to make sense and things will become intuitive. At the start, it's a bit overwhelming because EVERYTHING is new - except a basic salad... Don't stress over it; just embrace each meal and you'll get the hang of it.

Good recommendations on the LOLF and RFFE. Also take some time and look at everything available at your library if you are lucky enough to have raw books or in bookstores if you don't. I spent several evenings surrounded by every book they had! I found ones I thought would help me and others that just didn't fit me at all. I'm sure you'll find the same thing applies to you.

You don't have to get any books or recipes (I don't own any of Alissa's books and I don't think I ever will) because you can eat whatever you want that's raw.

Don't think that you have to transition via gourmet. You don't.

It's easier for huge SAD eaters that way because they can have their cake and eat it too. But to be honest, the more simple recipes you eat, arguably, the better you'll feel and the faster you'll see results. Just eat as many bananas, apples, oranges, pineapples, etc you want and see how you feel.

You don't have to own Alissa's books to be on this forum, but her first book Living on Live Food was what got me raw and helped me stay raw.

Also, Alissa provides this free forum for us to use so its nice to support her products to help pay for this site that I am sure cost hundreds of dollars every month to keep up.

Your first post! :D Welcome! You're on your way though! Amil is correct in terms that simplicity is best especially when starting out! I have tons of raw recipe books, but search for the ones with the less prep or ingredients.

If you want to expand, start with basic, but easy recipes. That's how I'm doing it.

I've prepared mango slices, kale chips, banana chip, zucchini chips, dried tomatoes and eggplant bacon in my dehydrator. I've made a slammin' cole slaw, marinated kale, creamy avocado kale, guacamole, zucchini spaghetti with tomato sauce, arugula and sprout mix spritzed with seasoned flax oil & ACV dressing. Yummy.

I've made coconut milk too and purchased my first Thai coconut the other day. I can't wait to open it.

I drink green smoothies every day and I have made a lot of different ones, from recipes in books or internet and I also have my own concoctions; I might write a Smoothie recipe book.

Well that's a little bit of my journey. Good journey to you; you'll learn a lot here!

This is another favorite of mine.

Collard wraps - sliced tomato, red onion avocado for the filling.
