Hi!

I am a starting raw foodie in transition. Currently, I eat fresh fruit/vegetables, greens, cheese and tofu (rare). However, my aspiration is to come to MONO raw diet. I believe that is the healthiest level of food consumption that is possible. Obviously, it takes time to come to it, but it's possible. The food needs to be received in the stomach consequently to ensure right digestion.
For those who do not know, mono raw foodism is, for example, eating ONE product at the same time 2-3 hours in between the meals. For example, 4-5 peaches in the morning and 3-4 bananas for lunch. The exception can be greens which can combine with any vegetables (kale and tomato salad, for example).

Any mono raw foodists out there? Or inspiring mono raw foodists?

I am a food combiner.
I began with fit for life with Harvey Diamond.
It was Harvey who introduced me to the mono way of eating.

I am heading in that direction too,

I eat one type of fruit at a time
I leave 20 minutes for apples/oranges
I leave an hjour for bananas to digest.

I do combine salads, greenery with lots of color, rainbow salads.
I always leave 3 hours for digestion.
then I can have some yummy fruit.

I do have steamed/roasted vegetables with my salads.
as thats what works for me at the moment.

I wish you the very best of luck.
congrats on giving yourself the health you deserve.

enjoy!

I naturally incorporate some of those principles into my diet, but there's also something to be said for the power of the synergy of correctly combined food. Also, I'm not into strict rules when it comes to my diet, my intuition is the most important tool in my toolbox

Great, ladies.
I am glad a lot of people are heading to mono direction. I know some raw foodists have problems with weight if they combine/eat too much of the different products at the same time. For example, Victoria Boutenko or Nomi Shannon.
I've heard from mono raw foodists that once they started eatingmono, the weight came off quickly. But that's not all, the dependency on food after 1-3 months (depends on a psychological dependency) is gone. Even on strictly raw food, the dependency is still there. For example, overeating at night.

Thank you so much for the kind words.

Harvey Diamond. Thank you for the info, I will look into the book. I am reading a couple right now: Victoria Boutenko "Raw Food: How to end your dependency on raw food" and "Raw Food Detox Diet" by Natalia Rose. Both a quite different, even though they talk about the same thing. However, I found Boutenko's much more thorough with a lot of scientific explanations about WHY it is important to eat raw. I don't know if you read, but I would recommend.

I like the way you separate your meal. You are in the right direction. I am trying to make myself eat cheese separately. I do love it, but I got used to adding mozzarella to the salad. That needs to stop. :))

I agree about intuition. Even I notice sometimes that if I combine too many different types of food, my digestion is a little slower and I might not feel fully satisfied with the food.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "synergy of correctly combined food?" I am really interested if there is something more spiritual that you mean?

mono eating is pretty commonly known, I think many people do it.

I think people that eat cooked and processed food are not familiar with that at most.
I had a couple of personal trainers in my time and trust me NONE of them knew anything about food combining (even though they were successful at their job). One wanted me to eat protein 3-5 times a day at every meal. When I asked that I eat fruit in the morning, I do not want to combine cheese and such with it. He wondered why. His deal was that you need to eat "balanced."
I've known about food combining since I was a little girl (7-8) even when I lived in Russia. But here, in the US, it seems like people do not even have common sense to it. But of course, it is not generalized to every one, it's just what I had to deal with. :)

However, mono raw foodism seems hard for a lot of people. And it seems hard for me. But I, honestly, really want to end my dependence and try to eat to live, not the other way around. :)
