Octobert/Halloween Harvest/Treats

Ok, here are a few (only a few made it to the table for the photo :p ) treats we've made :

caramel apple
black licorice...THAT'S right! BLACK LICORICE (thanku Rawkinlocs & RP for the advice on this recipe!)
pumpkin cookies
"roasted" pumpkin seeds

Samhain/Halloween, is MY FAVORITE TIME OF Year.

I used to love making the costumes and doing the makeup when I was little.

So, how did the "black licorice" TASTE and what exactly did you do?

The licorice tastes JUST LIKE BLACK LICORICE !!!! I am so excited about this one!

I used raisins, put them in a small bowl (as you can see there) sprinked a bit of fennel and dashed a bit of anise extract. Hand mixed it up and BAM !!! LOL....... BLACK LICORICE !!!! Even our SAD neighbor (who doesn't like black licorice) said it was "pretty good" and tasted "just like the store bought", she doesn't like the reg. black licorice because of it's texture, but she loves raisins! I think the raisin texture is pretty close to a soft licorice texture, it was perfect !

Now off to make those costumes ;)
