I did my first round of P90X over in the thread started by KatieP called, "I'm doin it!! P90X Baby!!" And bumped it up for the first few days of starting round 2 on P90X and decided to start a new thread to stay motivated and hopefully motivate others to join me to Keep up with P90X on RAW!!!! :)

FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN ANYTIME!!!!! :D

After I've finished the first round of P90X, I've been exercising off and on doing other stuff besides, P90X!! Never really did finish my 2nd round of P90X!! I love the support and the encouragement I've gotten here that really made me wanna do it as soon as I got up in the morning sooooo I'm back to try again to do the 2nd round of P90X. Anybody wanna join me is more than welcome!!! I'll be posting here again like I have before on RFT except it's gonna be a 2nd round for me on P90X!!! I already have someone I know getting started on this program!!! So I have a buddy already getting started on the the first round for her which is totally awesome!!!!

So I'm back for the another attempt for the 2nd round of P90X!!!! And I do want to go for the 3rd and 4th and 5th and so on. I will stay here on this thread as long as I need to untill the P90X routine is permanent into my lifestyle!!

Round 2/Day 4

I really didn't feel like exercising at all!! But I told myself that I will feel better than I do of the moment if I do exercise so that's what made me get off my butt and do it!!!! And I did it!!!! And it's true, I feel much better!! :D I feel empowered!!

So today is Yoga day! I was gonna do it this morning, but decided that maybe Yoga is something that I want to do before I go to bed, since it's so relaxing and mellow. Yoga always trips me up in the morning because it is longer than the other dvds, because I have my routine set up according to time and to do Yoga in the morning means I have to get up earlier so gonna try this Yoga tonight and see how it works for me so far.

Had two tablespoons of SunWarrior protein blended with a glass of spring water after my workout and so far I like it. I wanna bulk up a little bit more than I am right now!!

Aleesha ~ Thought it would feel better to start fresh and yep it does!! That's my plan, is to keep on keeping on!! :D

I'm on it with you in spirit!! :D

I started another Tony program that I had forgotten I had (then I had to switch it up do to a power loss) and I start again on Sunday!!

Way to work it my dear!!

RawHealthyBeauty

Working it, oh yeah!! Thanks Shine! :)

Round 2/Day 5

I did Yoga and it's worth every minute!! It really feels like it age proof the joints in the body, which is very cool. And it really makes me feel so free!! I always think I'm fine before I do yoga, but then afterward it always makes me realized that I really do need to just breathe and really just relax!! Yoga is cool!! So for all the yoga lovers out there, know why you all love it!!

So I was supposed to do the Legs, Back, and Ab this morning......but nope I will do them tonight before I call it a night.

Gotta peek at Alissa's books to make a list of what I need when I go to the market, my fridge is getting empty!!

And I've noticed so far that drinking the SunWarrior Protien seems to have erase my craving for nuts and seeds!!! Which feels odd, because I'm not used to not eating them. My body doesn't care for it!!

Cheers to getting stronger and stronger everyday in every good way possible!! ;)

Round 2/Day 6

I do know that I wouldn't have been doing the first week that I have just almost pretty much just done if I had not started this thread. It's been a big help so far.

I did the Back, Legs, and Ab and yeah, forgot that it really work the leg from bottom to top. It's a good workout!!

Now I was supposed to do Kenpo this morning, but I did it again!!! Really would like to just jump out of bed and say I'm ready to do P90X!!! :D I'm gonna start my Kenpo workout here in about 20 minutes, right now my belly is full of dried mangos!! Haven't had them in awhile and yum!

Tomorrow is either P90X full body stretch or a break. And looking forward to my one day fast over at the Fellowship of the Fasters on here!!

I've changed my measurement for Sun Warrior Protein which is just regular spoonful 3x with raw honey and water. It's feels like it's doing something for my brain!!!

I went to the market and stocked up my fridge which I'm always thankful for!! So can't wait to make some of Alissa's recipes. :)

So I'm thankful that I'm doing P90X again!!!

Have a great night all and wonderful day tomorrow!!!

Thanks DawnD!! :D
I really like your suggestion and I did it, "I can do it!!" . Very cool!! It felt good to say that!! So I will be saying it when I need to psyche myself to go for it!!
It's worth the investment if you like working out with weights and looking for a good workout that will shape you well all over!!

After and during the first round, I find that it really makes my body feel very strong, graceful, and youthful (the ongoing active playful feeling that children have).

Round 2/Day 7

Break time and fasting today!!!

I did Kenpo and just love the range of movements here!! One thing I like what Tony said in this workout, "I don't believe in aging, I believe in moving and eating good!!"

Week one is completed!! Wheeww!! Looking forward to week two!!! Will take a picture again sometimes today since it's been a while since I've finished round one. Pictures are a big help!!! It helps to see that progress is being made, especially when I'm so used to seeing myself all the time everyday. So the time gap in pictures erases doubts and keeps me going!!!

See ya and have a wonderful day!!

Week two
Round 2/Day 8

Wow, I'm in a whining mood to exercise today!!! :(
I can feel every muscle in my body right now and that will pass.
A dentist assistant told me this once that when I first start flossing my teeth, my gums might feel sensitive, feel sore, and bleed a little. All of that goes away if I keep flossing daily and it becomes a habit. if I fall out of habit, then I have to go through the same process again untill it becomes a habit!
That's how my body feels right now. It does get much easier over time with P90X! Just right now I'm being a whiny baby!!

Okay, it's time to shake off this attitude and exercise with love and thanks!!! :)

Time to do Chest, Back, and Ab today!!

No more whining for me!!!!

:) (((HUGS))) :)

Yeah, I even walk for a half an hour after my workout to shake off my whiny attitude, it's been a long time since I've been whiny. Walking certainly helped!!!

Made some raw cauliflower popcorn. Never had it before, it's really good! I like it better without the cayenne and before it got dehydrated.

I took some pictures of me to get motivated!!!

It reminde me that it's really all about the mindset to do it!! I really had to change my mindset when I first went on raw food, I had to unlearn all my bad habits and learn to create good new habits till I know it like driving!

So no whining for me is allowed!!! :p

Week 2
Round 2/day 9

I got up extra early, so proud of myself right now!

I feel great this morning and eating some very delicious golden ripe pears right now. I'm not feeling sore at all today which is nice. So what I may do is a full body stretch before I go to bed so that my muscles can recover faster!! That's what I did yesterday and I feel no soreness.

Today is Plyometric which I'm gonna do in about twenty minutes here! And actually looking forward to it.

And I'm gonna make something out of Alissa's book today. I'll post over in Renee's Thread if my pictures turned out good.

Happy Exercising!!! :D

Have a really awesome day to all!!!

Week 2
Round 2/Day 10

Feeling good today, not feeling any soreness!

The first week I was really sore! This week, it feels like I haven't exercised at all. It felt that way in my first round of P90X too. I mainly think it's because of eating raw food. And I stopped drinking the Sun Warrior Protein, because it was making my body feel sluggish. So I'll just have it every once in awhile instead of having it everyday. I really don't eat the same thing every day the for most part. I try to mix it up to get all of the rainbow colors of raw food in.

So I found something that I would def like to try is to make Alissa's Pickled Cucumbers. So I may get started on that tonight or early in the morning. Sounds good!!! :D

I'll be doing Shoulders, Arms, and Ab tonight after I watch a movie. So far I haven't taken a break or miss a day of P90X! I'm proud of myself for doing this!!

For the past two days, I've been drinking a small glass of water mixed with a spoon of AVC before eating my meals. I used to do this last year and it really made me feel good overall. I have a book about how AVC is very healthy to ingest and some beauty secrets along with it too!!!

Have a wonderful night!

Week 2
Round 2/Day 11

Okay, unbelievable news!!!! My t.v. in the living room broke down!!! :( That's not gonna stop me from doing P90X, because I have a small t.v. in my bedroom that I can used. It's a good thing there's enough space in there, plus I have a swivel plate that I can used under there to adjust the small t.v. at any angle. Thank goodness I have my little t.v.

So I'll be doing some yoga tonight!!

I've decided to post here monthly to keep track of my progress, since I feel it's a tad too much to post here everyday.

That way it won't feel like I'm counting the days. I really don't like doing that, because it makes me feel like I'm counting the last five minutes of work to go home sort of a thing.

I want to keep the P90X experience in a positive frame of mind and feel doing this will best for me for now.

Exercise and live well with loving thoughts!!! :)

See ya all later!!

I'm starting all over again for round two. Ended up taking a long break, a bad habit that I need to break!!

So it'll be day one tomorrow for round two and I'll post back here in thirty, sixty, and ninety days.

I spoke to a woman today who was just super fit and it reminded me that how I want to be too, super fit and healthy!!

I need to stop making excuses in the morning or using other distractions to avoid exercising.

Now that I think about it when I completed the first round of P90X, it seemed that life has rewarded me for doing so in small and big ways!! I guess being kind to my body and getting in shape is good for my karma. So that's cool!!

I just need to change my old beliefs I've had and just let them go. I need new positive beliefs about exercising and get on a roll here!!! Really I just need to throw the laziness about it outta the window!!

So my affirmations for exercising for me!!

I love to get up in the morning and start off my morning first thing with a good workout for a great day!!!

The results are so rewarding!!!

I care about me to take care of me to make the choice to exercise for a better me!!!

I love working out and there is not one excuse to stop me!!!

Anyways, that should amp up my "Positive Power Attitude!!! :D

See ya all here in about thirty days!!!

So my husband just got this for me for the holidays (it should be here in a few days)..... I'm a little scared.

Is it really "that" hard or will it be doable for a 40 year old-mom of 6 :o

I have upper neck and back issues and some hip issues, but I'm hoping by doing this, I will strenghten up those areas and get stronger.

HI Cathy!! :) Cool to see you here!!

Have no fear, this is totally a cool workout and Tony Horton is awesome, patient, and understanding from the way he coaches on these DVDs.

The nice thing about P90X is that it's not too fast pace where it's too hard to follow or has all kinds of fast crazy movements. It's at a pace where you can go at your own pace each time till you keep getting stronger and stronger. It's goes easy on the joints and over time doing this it really makes the joints feel really youthful on this program which I was very surprise by.

I got someone I know who is in her early sixties doing this, she's really impressed by my results!! Now she doing it and loving it. I asked her a while back if it was doable. She thinks it is and is looking forward to getting results!! She works with the bands so that it's easy on her neck and back when doing pull-ups and skip some parts of yoga since downward dogs puts too much pressure on her wrists. She modifies the moves to where she finds it manageable which might be something you may want to do when it comes to the back, neck, and hips.

Check out this story on YouTube "From MS to P90X Success", Incredible story! :)

I really didn't think it was that bad as far as it being difficult, but I think it's because I live on raw food! The ab session and the pull up session was hard for me to do at at first. I just did what I can each time and maybe do one more rep the next time around! By the second month it got easier, than the third month I was really starting to breeze on by.. My problem is that I'm lazy when it comes to exercising. My mind usually talks me out of it and talks me into taking a break! which turns into a long break! So at this point I'm trying to get of rid the lazy part!! :D That's why I'm here!

I'm so happy you're getting P90X!!! Happy Hoildays!! :)

whoa-raw, if it helps you out any I am up every morning at 5am to run, or go to the gym to lift weights. I know that it is hard getting up in the morning, but like you have said, it is sooo worth it. Also I wanted to ask you about the Sunwarrior Raw Protein. Do you like it? I currently have protein mix, but it isn't raw, but it was so expensive that I want to use it up instead of just throwing it away. thanks!

tryingtogoraw ~ Yes, thank you! Totally totally helps!

I'm addicted to my snooze button!! That's gotta change though and say goodbye to pushing the snooze button to get up at the last minute!! LOL!! Which I'm doing right now and just need to accept the fact this habit is outta here!

The Sun Warrior Protein is really good stuff, it just seems that now that my body is really clean from eating raw food that I really have to use it sparingly. Too much protein for me seems to weigh me down. So I get my protein from kale salad which is my favorite salad!! And other raw goodies. Yum! Sun Warrior is worth getting, especially if having protein drinks is a must! It's smooth tasting and not gritty nor clumpy. I got the one that is a natural flavor and add some honey just because I love to! :) It's taste good in a "natural" way without the honey. There's Chocolate and Vanilla flavor too. I asked someone else just now over the phone who drink this stuff and is not raw.... more energy, more alert, and stronger. Hope that helps.

Cathy ~ Can't wait to hear what you think of it and what it does for you!! I hope you love it like I do!

Here's another one I just watch on YouTube called The Raw Vegan Myth

Oh geez, I'm on the verge of wanting to take my lazy break!! (I'm still doing P90X)
What is my deal!!!?
I've had issues of sabotaging my effort in getting my body in shape in the past.....
Well, I'm just gonna be plain straight up about it, In the back of my mind I feel like everyone's gonna hate me if I'm super fit! The one thing I hate the most is seeing people getting jealous! Jealousy is my pet peeve. Well, one way or another I gotta overcome this. Because I really want to be true to myself and not let other people's emotions dictate my next move. If anyone has any advice for me on this matter, I'm all ears, because I would really like to move past this. So again, I need to get rid of my old negative beliefs that revolves around having a nice super fit body.

Here are some affirmations....

It is safe and okay to be super fit!!
I no longer let other people opinions and emotions dictate my choice to be super fit!!
I expect respect for my decision to be super fit.
I no longer make the choice to be lazy nor the choice to sabotage my effort to be super fit!!!

Okay, I read something that was cool that someone said to someone else in another thread. so I'm gonna take this one to heart about being super fit!! :)

"Believe in you and don't let anything intimidate you."

Thank you for saying this out loud online!! :D

Well, I did my session today and I feel a whole alot better!! Once I get started, I'm fine and having fun, It's just a huge mental block I need to get around. I had this problem too when i first went raw and sort of whining about it till I got a clue that I just really needed to throw out whatever bad attitude I had that was stopping me. Well, I'm gonna do the same thing here.

Good attitude helps me to overcome any obstacles!!

I feel good!!! Just completed 2nd week for round 2!! This is crazy that P90X is getting too easy for me now,

I've decided to add my walking routine since I miss walking so much. I like how it makes me feel so 30 minutes of walking upon waking up, then do P90X. I'm even more game to add a routine before i go to a bed which I've decided to call it improvement night which focus on what I want to improve with spot target exercises such as the booty, inner thigh, outter thigh, chest, neck, face, and so along with 30 minute rebounding, since I saw a video last night about how rebounding is really good for the mind and the body.

There's an article I read a while back (don't know if I bookmarked it or not) about how walking is really good for the brain that after six months, the brain mimics the same cognitive abilities as those who are twenty something..... No wonder why I like to walk!!!

Hey Monk, think it also has something to do with the fact that I've been eating kale salad all this week!! I'm so in love with kale right now!! I just ran out so gonna have to get some more, because I seriously crave kale!! That's sounds so cool to be able to say that!!!

Thank you for your support and encouragements, it always means alot to me!! :)

I'm on break today since it's the 7th day!!

Oh and for the lazy break problem I'm trying to overcome is that I skipped the P90X sessions twice.....so not bad because it could have been worse!! So I give myself a pat on the back for sticking to P90X!!

And for the best yummy kale salad I've had so far is massage the chopped kale with olive oil, sea salt, and juice of two lemons (I love lemons!) in a large bowl and stir in slices of mushrooms and tons of advocado cubes. This is optional, add cumin spice and stir well, adjust amount to taste. Enjoy!!!

Getting off to a good start on week three on day three!! :)

I started thinking about how I'm viewing my external body image.......

Am I loving it? Am I dissing it? What kind of self-talk is taking place about external body image. Well. I learned over time that it's not cool to diss the self or the body in any way!! Always cherish it, nourish it, and take care of it with loving thoughts/opinions and positive vibes!!! And take actions to support the loving thoughts/opinions.

So here are my loving thoughts for external body image.

It is okay to have a beautiful strong slender healthy body!!!
I now choose to be athletic and view my body as an athletic type.
It's okay for me to have a nice looking butt even it it makes others be upset when I finally achieve that goal.
And I expect others to praise my effort instead of being frowned down on!!
I achieve my goals, not to sabotage my goals for others.

For me, eating more greens makes my body recover faster and makes my brain be really focus, especially when getting alot of oxygen to the brain while exercising. The brain is a muscle too!! :)

Till next time and thanks for reading!!

RawHealthyBeauty
12-29-2010, 07:50 PM
I'm switching things up a bit!!

Do P90X early in the morning, then facial exercises, then facial clay mask (yes daily, it keeps my face in great shape), then get ready for my day!!!

And at night, since I love to walk, I can do that for about 30 min in the evening on my manual threadmill or I can do a 15 minute spot exercises that targets my butt and outter/inner thigh.

And I like to eat before working out instead of having a recovery drink afterward. I like the light feeling I get after a workout so this is how I 'm gonna roll!!

So after 90 days and more, oh yeah!!! Ready or not, Whoa-Raw is gonna be so WHOA!!!

Today is the last day of week three!!! Yay, moving onto to week 4!! After week four is when I really start seeing really obvious results!!! So yeah, looking forward to it!!!

And the facial/neck exercise is so worth doing along with my exercise routine. Not only will I look more fit, but more youthful looking as well!! And having a youthful attitude about life helps as well as I do believe inner beauty radiates as well!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Second day of week 4 for round two!!! :)

I'm still doing neck/facial exercises along with my routine. I need to work on doing my improvement nights, I will in time... Just need to get adjusted to this routine!!!

I did take pics of day one for round two. So at the end of week 4, it will be time for me to take pictures again. Everything looks pretty good, just want to really improve my back view which is is my upper and lower back, back waist area, my butt, the highest part of my hamstring area, part of the back of my outter thigh. and really tighten up the lowest part of my abs.

I saw this somewhere. Instead of calling it P90X, it's P-lifetime-X!!! :D

Have a great day!!!

Well......took about a 4 day break and have 2 days to finish for week 4...soooooo I'm gonna get back on track here!! :)

I think it's a matter of my brain/body adjusting to exercising daily so in all good time I'll be able to exercise every day with no problem.

I always say exercise with love or happy exercising, well here's another phrase someone made up which is exercise with joy!!!!! :p

And I may not post for some time, since I want to focus on using my time wisely.

I'll be back though to post about my results and how I did and all that!

Finished finally the last day of week four!!!! :)

So now for the next four weeks is when I really start seeing results big time then the next four weeks after that is, "Oh yeah!"

Then without taking a break after round two, I really would like to see what happens in round three,,,,, between each four week period!!!

Then I would really like to see what happens after round three and then after round four and then after round five.....anyways you all get the idea!!!

Just keep in mind that it may seem hard at first, but once you get going on it. It becomes easy to do after awhile.

I'm just somewhat attached to my couch potato behavior. Then I read one of Tony Horton's blog and he talks about how it's all about changing the behavior to make a lifestyle change. Makes sense to me soooo just need to focus on changing my couch potato behavior and get moving!!!!

And it time to take pics.... and I will share them all on day 90!!! And maybe compared them to round one....maybe...I'll see.

I've been drinking this lately and got the recipe/idea from Alissa's first book!!! It's soooooooo good!!!! It's a mixture of apples and lemons, then I add honey., blend in Vita-Mix with water and ice cubes. Yummmm!!! Enjoy!! :D

Ooooh, that does sound yummy. I have all the ingredients for it so I'm going to search my book for it when I get home. Sounds YUUM!

Your excitement is contagious! I'm so ready to get started. My knee isn't the greatest these days (my knee cap slides out of place from time to time - OUCH!), but I've got my knee brace the Ortho gave me so I'm ready to go. ...I hope! :p

I really want to get up early enough in the morning to do it before work...but I love to lay in bed too much in the morning so I don't know if that's going to work out quite the way I see it in my head. lol We shall see!

Thanks! It's nice to hear that my excitement is going further than me just typing here!! I really have struggled all my life with all kinds of exercise DVDs with really hardly any results. This gives me the results that I've been wanting to see all my life so yeah I'm excited...because I finally found something that works for me. And even more so with raw.

Tony has problems with his knee too from time to time. He shows modified moves and wants you to go at your pace that you're comfortable with. It's cool like that. When I first did it, I was like oh my, I'm so slow and now I can keep up with everyone. Just had to be patient with the pace I was at and know that eventually my pace will pick up.

I'll be here cheering you on!! :D

Hey guys :D I was WAY off raw but am working my way back and I started my 2nd round of P90X on the first, of course :) I like it so much I even became a beachbody coach! I'm going to go read through this thread to see how you're all doing with it on raw because I am intrigued :)

Oh and in my first round I lost 10 pounds and - I forget exactly - but about 4" or more off my waist!

P90X is one of my favorite fitness programs. Following a living foods diet, you should notice result much sooner. I got rid of that extra fat around my midsection the first month. I like to refuel with sunwarrior protein along with some medicinal mushrooms.

Appiefanie ~ Cool to hear you became a beachbody coach!! Very cool!! And CONGRATULATIONS on your result!!! :)

I lifted weights/done aerobics lots of times in the past before I started eating raw and it always felt like I was struggling/be wiped out afterward. So I have thought lots of time that I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to do P90X on Sad Food. All I know for sure that raw food makes it feel easy and I rarely feel sore except for the first two weeks of round one and round two. And raw food has alot of goodies that I don't need the recovery drink to recover. That's how raw food is for me on P90X. I always think of Popeye eating spinach!! He had a pretty good point!! Eat your greens, oh yeah!!!

And I'm excited you're doing round two, way to go!! Yay!!

Reishi ~ I agree this routine is awesome for the midsection!! Cool that happened for you in the first month! It did wonders for mine too, this is the best that my stomach has ever looked!!

I like the SunWarrior Protien for the first two times I drank it, but then for some reason it felt a bit too much for my body and made it feel heavy afterward along with making the workout feel harder to do.....so I stopped using it. It taste really good though especially when I add a little bit of raw honey to it. The medicinal mushrooms sounds really interesting and would like to learn more about it.

So if you both want, keep posting on here about your joy for P90X!! I love hearing that kind of stuff that I even searched the Internet about other people's success on P90X to stay motivated!!!

I'm gonna get started on sprouting beans. Nuts and seeds are starting to be heavy for my stomach. Which is gonna be new for me, because I'm always eating nuts and seeds!!! So my body is making new adjustments again. Listening to my body is what helped my to become a vegetarian! :) So I'll just have to see how my body likes sprouted beans!!

Thanks!! :) And that's good to hear about not being wiped out. I didn't have that problem the first 90 days, but lately I sometimes can't do whole workouts in one go because I'm just so tired/hungry/something. (I suck up that feeling for days with Kenpo and Plyo b/c I don't want to mess with my heartrate) But I am having lotsa greens! :D

Sometimes when it comes to plyo/kenpo, I choose to walk or do some rebounding instead. It's more mellow for me.

Good to hear you're eating your greens!! :D

Tomorrow is the first day of week five!!! :)

Okay.......I need to accept the fact that exercising early in the morning really isn't my thing!!! I like to feel like I had my morning before I go rushing to work/just having my day.

I gotta switch things up again. I have no problem staying up late. So maybe I figure I'm one of those kind of people who like to go to the gym after work. Would make sense to me, because movement is playing. So it would be instinctual thing to do is to wanna play afterward. So I'm gonna do P90X in the evenings from now on and see how that works!!

The day before yesterday was the seventh day of week four which was break day and extend the break into yesterday!! Then I was gonna do it this morning but noooooo!!! So I have to admit it, working out early in the morning is not working out for me. First day of fifth week begins this evening!!! :)

However, I'll still be doing my facial/neck exercises early in the morning. It doesn't feel like exercising.....more like a beauty treatment.....I do all kinds of beauty treatments early in the morning and have been for years so I'm so used to doing that sort of thing early in my day.

As far as the improvement routine goes.....thinking about doing that once a week and that would be on the seventh day/break day. Which would be spot exercises on the areas of my body that i would like to give a little extra boost to it.

So yeah, the important thing is find what really works for me and goes with who I am is the key to being successful incorporating this into my lifestyle!!

I think that we have to find our little quirks to make whatever works for us, because we all have different styles of working out.

Whoa - Good luck with the evening workouts! I was doing them after my kid goes to bed, but usually by that time (8pm and later) I just want to sit, and I found that on cardio days my heart rate didn't seem to be going as high as it should. Lately I've been distracting the kid in the middle of the day and that works much better :) Today I don't know what happened though and it's 8:12pm and I have to do PLYO! D'OH! :D

And my week 3 started yesterday! I'm down from size 14s to 12s, but I'd like to get back to 8s at least :)

appifanie ~ Third week, cool!! :)
The more raw food you get, the more you'll be slimming down in no time and especially on P90X!! :D
I'm thinking the evening routine might work out!! :) I have exercised in the evenings before but it's always with a small quilt that I didn't get up early enough to do the workout in the morning. This time around feels different since I'm not holding myself to do it in the morning anymore. I did my workout last night and it totally felt different!! It went by so fast!! It sort of made me feel like I didn't workout but I did!!! It felt easy and comfortable because I'm not racing against time in the morning and at night time isn't really going anywhere since I really don't have to take care of anything afterward which is cool.

DawnD ~ I have a thin book called FaceBuilding by Reinhold Benz. The title has been changed. I'm not sure exactly but to The Five Minute Face Workout or something like it by the same author. This is my favorite one. Be sure to hold for a good second or two with all mustered power between each reps or otherwise it's kind of pointless. It'll even say so in the book..
And this is very stimulating for the face is do a certain kind of massage on the face. It's found in this book called Facelift at your fingertips by Pierre Jean Cousin. It's really easy and fast once the massage technique for face is memorized. It's cool though because it's sort of like doing acupressure for the face.

Oh and I was thinking about inner beauty as well. I wanna feel awesome on the inside the way raw chocolate would taste like!!! :p

I just want to add this since I made a comment earlier about the more raw food you get, the more you'll be slimming down in no time!! :D

It's true!!!

It'll be about three years pretty soon that I've started my raw food journey in Spring 2008. Before I did P90X in the Spring of 2010, I've lost 4 dress sizes just from raw food and walking 20 minutes a day/every other day/two times a week/maybe not for awhile.....I did raw food the transitional way. The point is that raw food alone really melted my weight off big time!!

Since I'm eating good food that makes my body stronger, why not make it even more stronger which is my goal on P90X. I want to be and look strong/athletic. I wanna live my life the way I imagine I would when I was a child. Be active....go mountain bike riding.....rock climbing......go hiking, I wanna be one of those sport chicks you see in the catalog/magazine. That is one of my dreams!! To be strong, active, and healthy!!!! I was a wild child who played fiercely on the playground!! Making the connection again to play like a wild woman on a bigger playground!!! I am determined and going to make that dream come true on P90X!!!

Anybody can answer to this if they want to privately or publicly......What are your dreams you're seeking to have come true in your life while doing P90X?

Thanks whoa :D I've been 90%+ raw for 3-4 weeks before and it did help me get over a weight plateau (under, rather) but it was only about 2 lbs and didn't last. I know that 100% would be best of course, but I am indeed addicted/quite fond of some cooked foods (basic stuff but I won't elaborate so as not to risk mentioning foods people miss:) though I am evolving! I realized that I'm gluten sensitive (not celiac) so that's one big thing i've recently quit! I'll get there :)

It's just about time for day 108, yoga. I love yoga but don't like yoga x - I like calming yoga, not vinyasa/ashtanga stuff.

RawHealthyBeauty

No one has converted into all 100% raw food around me yet and that's fine. I don't expect anyone to, because it is a personal choice. What I do expect from those who know me is to eat their fruits and veggies even if they're eating cooked food all the time, because of the enzyme concept. And they certainly agree with me on how eating more fruits and veggies is important. I mean I have heard people in the raw food community say oh what a waste that people eat fresh produce while eating SAD food. I don't agree with that at all, the more enzymes in the body the better, plus the more people eat fresh produces, the more they are supporting farmers, the Earth, and all of us who wants to lead a healthier lifestyle! I mean My attitude is that I want everyone to eat their fruits and veggies whether they are a raw foodie or not! :D

Oh and I did find that the longer I supply my body with enzymes that my body eventually wanted more enzymes and was willing to let go of cravings/addictions one day at a time!! :)

About the yoga part, someone I know is using a different yoga dvd instead on that day.

I skipped yesterday evening workout and felt like I needed to rest. This evening I'm getting back on track. I talked to someone about P90X and we even talked about how we could do P90X every other day if we felt like our body needed the rest. So it made me feel better about me overcoming my issue with off and on working out and taking really long break. So if I need to let my body to take it easy and recover, then I allow myself to take a day or two off then get back to my workout. So that's what I'm gonna do to overcome taking really long breaks in between!!! Even if it means working out every other day... What a relief!!!

appifanie
01-19-2011, 12:01 PM
I totally agree - everyone needs more raw food, and anything you add to your diet, now matter how SAD, is an improvement.

I think I will start using a different Yoga workout - I have Netflix and they have a few in their on demand service so I'll try those! I love Yoga, just not Tony-Yoga :D

And P90X is the same as eating your fruits and veggies - any more you do is good :D

And I'm going to go eat some more!

Hi Whoa! Hope you're doing well :D

I made it through Kenpo today but barely (I have my period and it's REALLY heavy - ugh). But I did it, and I get tomorrow off, and then it's recovery week!

Also, I just heard that Chalean Extreme is on sale through the end of the month - from $119 down to $89 and coaches get it for $67 so I think I'll expand my workout library from just P90X :D

Just popping in to say that I'm more and more eager to get started with each passing day! I can't wait until my copy arrives. I'm a night owl, which means getting up a minute earlier than I need to is usually a problem. :p However, my goal is to try to get to bed early enough that I can get up at 5am and do this before work. Whew...that is going to be some kinda tough, I can tell you that. I'm going to give it the old college try though.

I used to go to Curves every evening after work and thoroughly enjoyed that so working out in the evening won't serve as a problem...it's just something about the idea of starting my day off with a good workout that intrigues me.

I'm going to follow the lean program. Come on and get here already!! He didn't order it when I thought he did, said he forgot. But he's gifting it to me so I won't complain...too loudly! :p

Keep pushing play!
I did one round of p90x and I loved it. Well, to be honest, I hated Yoga x.
Now I'm fusing Insanity workout with p90x. Have you tried insanity?

This hybrid kick's my behind every time. I substituted kenpo, yoga, plyometrics x with insanity workouts.

I have not been on this forum in a looooong time but am so glad I did today! I do P90X too! I started 12/5/09 and have been consistently pushing play ever since! I do a weights routine and then run 5 days a week + a long run on Sundays and YogX on Sundays. I love it!

Have any of you ordered TurboBlast from BeachBody? Just wondering if it's as intense as it appears and possibly also based on muscle confusion?

I am looking to making adjustments to my P90x routine because I am working out too much...so maybe I can get some good ideas here.....I think I need to split my 1 long daily workout into 2 daily workouts....

Right now this is what I do:

Monday: Chest & Back + AbRx & a run (about 8 miles)
Tuesday: Shoulders & Arms + AbRx& a run (about 8 miles)
Wednesday: Chest, Shoulders & Triceps + AbRx& a run (about 8 miles)
Thursday: Back & Biceps + AbRx& a run (about 8 miles)
Friday: Legs & Back + AbRx& a run (about 8 miles)
Saturday: "LONG" run (12-22+ miles)
Sunday: YogaX

+ I work full time (teacher) so I am "tapped out" and fall into bed by the end of the day! (and have a houseful of kids + hubby!)

I want to rearrange my routine but I am so much of an overachiever that I see it as failure----I am thinking of doing the weights in the a.m. (which I can do in 30 minutes now that I know the routines) and run after school.....
What's your advice???

I am sooooooooo ready!! :D

Thank you Bud Greene for reminding me to push play. That worked really well for me in my first round. Tony would just say all you gotta do is show up in front of the screen and push play. :D I loved that, so that's what I'm gonna tell myself from now on!! It really got me off my butt, because it just takes my finger to push play!!! Oh yeah baby!! I think Insanity is too insane for me. I do admire those who are doing the workout though!!

NFracer ~ I'm glad you found this thread too! Oh very cool to hear you're doing P90X too! I really admire your ambition, very awesome!!

I know this may not be something you expect to hear, but here it goes.. I been looking into the Earthing mats lately after hearing wonderful things about it from one of my cyber friends on RFT. I'm contemplating whether I should get it or not. Most likely I will, because it removes the electrical stresses from our body to feel better and connect us to the Earth's energy to ground our body. This would be my opinion for the reason for me to get one is because I think it would really help my body recover awhole lot faster naturally the way it naturally should have been in the first place. I'm just thinking that is maybe the missing element in my life is to be connected with nature in general, since most of us are so insulated and disconnected from the Earth. It's a very interesting concept soooo maybe. If I do get one, I'll be mainly using it while I'm sleeping while my body is recovering.

I haven't done the Turboblast....

All I can think of is the SunWarrior Protien, since you're doing weights everyday along with running almost everyday. You're doing your own thing with P90X where P90X just does weight every other day and aerobic every other day along with yoga once a week. The Sunwarrior Protien was a bit much for me, but maybe it won't be for you, since you're working out more extensively. Or maybe have green smoothies for recovery drinks after each workout so that you don't feel "tapped out". I know for sure that green smoothies makes me more energetic everyday, speaking of which that might be my problem too is that I'm not really drinking green smoothies these days. I just need to find a good blend for green smoothie, just really haven't found one I like yet. I'll post here once I find a good green smoothie blend that my tastebud likes. There is a section here for green smoothies recipes somewhere. I think it might be one of the stickies.

I wouldn't change a thing, give green smoothies a try first, then change the routine later if the green smoothie isn't doing the trick for you!

On My Journey ~ :D Hey!!!
Please do try Plyometric!! It really works out the legs and put wings on your feet!!!
Can't wait for you to get started!!!
The Yoga part really helps to prep the muscles for the next workout which is what I found in my experience with it so far and makes me feel so stress free big time!

Okay for me, I've been naughty!! I took a week off even though I said I gonna to be jammin!! Ooops!!

So I refused to post here from now on till I push play and have done my workout!!! I know.... but that's what motivated me in the past before. Once I do my workout for that day, then I get excited to post about it. So see ya all when I'm in the "Play" mode!!! :p

Wonderful job whoa-raw and you too Bud!!!!! :woot: That smoothie sounds good, actually. Please let us know how it turns out.

Guess what I got yesterday???? My chin up bar for P90X!!! YES! I was like a kid at Christmas when the UPS guy finally knocked on my door! I put it together, and tried to do some pull ups....womp, womp! ...that didn't get very far. I will definitely be using the chair along with the bar and working my way up. I'm excited to see how many pull ups I'll be able to do at the end of this 90 days! ....I hope more than one! LMBO!!

I did Yoga and it's worth every minute!! It really feels like it age proof the joints in the body, which is very cool. And it really makes me feel so free!! I always think I'm fine before I do yoga, but then afterward it always makes me realized that I really do need to just breathe and really just relax! It is really amazing and outstanding.

Sounds like an exact repeat of one of my older post. I know this is something I said in this thread or in the other thread called, I'm doing P90X BABY or in one of the monthly exercise thread!!

Are you a copy and paste spammer? :weird

:excited::excited:
My P90X is HERE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so freaking excited, this morning! hahaha It came in the mail yesterday and for some reason I was sooo sleepy when I got home. I popped in the "How to Bring It" disc and drifted off to sleep! How in the world did that happen?? (my couch is a sedative I tell ya!!) Well, my nap turned into sleep and I awoke around 2 am! So needless to say, I'll be starting today instead. I really am so stoked, but my body was not having it yesterday. It needed rest!

Anyway, my chin up bar is assembled and up. And I've now watched "How to Bring It." Time to get started baby!! Oh yea, oh yea!! I have to take my daughter to church in a little bit for a day long youth workshop and when mama gets back..... it'll be time to,

BRING IT!!!

OnMyYourney,
take it easy with the pull-ups. Work your way up moving the chair farther away.
To this day I can do no more than five unassisted pull-ups. But when I started, I was struggling to do one!
Keep pushing play!

Hey Bud and Whoa!!!! :woot: I made it through Day 1! Lord have mercy!!! hahahaha Tony kicked my butt ROYALLY! But I'm a trooper and I fought through it!! Thanks so much for the advice Bud. I tried to do some pull ups and realized RIGHT AWAY that I would be using the chair! lol

Since I'm doing the lean program, I started the day with core synergistics!! Wooooo WEE! Tony came out full blast, with both barrels loaded! My goodness. No easing into this stuff, huh? hahahaha

I was BEAT afterwards, but I fought through to do the bonus stuff at the end with them. Man! This stuff is HARDCORE. But I must say, after I finally got the energy back to shower (lol), make myself a recovery drink (kale, lettuce, celery, cacao powder w/maca, some frozen mango for taste, and banana) I felt so much better. At that time I was able to reflect on what I had accomplished...and now, I'm rather proud of myself!! :encore:

I was told by the folks on twitter, that tomorrow (Cardio X) should be a "walk in the park" in comparison to Core Synergistics. Yea...we'll see about all that.

I'll tell you what though...I doubt I'll be doing this in the morning before work! I may never get there! lol Maybe after I get used to the program I'll be able to work out and not be WIPED out! LMBO

I'm so happy to have you all to share this with, to get advice and feedback from. I'm so grateful for you all! Thank you so, so much!! :heart

Edited to add: You all can just call me OMJ....it's such a long screen name to type over and over. Folks on other forums and twitter shortened it to OMJ, which is kinda cool. :<)

Hey OMJ!!! Very cool!!

Yeah, BudGreene's tip reminded me the beginning of P90X! Just do what you can the best you can. The workout does get much easier over time....You'll see what I'm talking about on day 90!!! You'll feel like you can take on the world!!! In the beginning, I just went at my own pace till I could catch up with everyone later on. Tony would be so proud of you!! I am too!!

I'm glad you're here and sharing!!! :heart

I find that raw recovery smoothies really helps me out alot too.

I always did the Strretch DVD on the 7th day in my first round and realized just now that it really helps me be ready for the next week of workouts. For round two, I've been skipping my stretches untill today, I just realized that it really does help get me prep and helps me to keep going. Wow, the power of stretching!!!! So I'm not gonna skip em anymore.

Sixth week for round two begins tomorrow!!! :)

Chest, Shoulder, Tricep, Abs, & Face/Neck exercises!!

Tonight, I'm making a list of raw food items I would like to sprout. I know that adding sprouts in my life on a daily basic is going to make a huge improvement for me, especially for my muscles!!!

I have been taking MSM on a daily basic now for the past week and a half now. I may keep it up to see how it has helped me so far.

:excited:Day 2 - Cardio X :woot:

Wooooooooooo!!! Feeling AMAAAAAAAAZING right now!!! Just finished Cardio X and I'm on top of the world...until I try to stand up anyway. LMBO I was talking much smack after I finished, sat down for a breather and then got up to make my recovery drink (smoothie : kale, lettuce, parsley, celery, ground flax seeds, cacao powder with maca, banana and a little frozen mango for taste) and my legs almost collapsed underneath me. LOL I told my twitter P90X'ers, "Mental note: Don't talk smack after workout until after you've stood back up." hahahahaha

In retrospect, I see that yesterday's problem was not enough food before my work out...that's what left me feeling so depleted. Today I had two big, ripe bananas before hand and those babies pushed me all the way through!! Maybe I'll have 3 tomorrow, cause I ran out a little bit at the end...but then again, my legs did feel like a ton at that point.

Cardio X was no walk in the park, but it's a great work out and much more bearable with the right amount of energy. I'll never make yesterday's mistake again. No sir, no ma'am!!

I FREAKING LOVE P90X!!!!!!!!!!!!! :heart

Ooh, sprouts will help with muscles...maybe I'll try that too. I need to check LOLF for the section Alissa has on sprouts, as I don't know much about how to even start.

I use to put MSM in my smoothies, I blew my knee out last year training for a half marathon. *sad* But I wear my knee brace when doing P90X and I'm fine, thus far. As for MSM, it really did help me ( I felt), I need to get some more. Thanks for mentioning it!

Thanks Bud, I'll do just that! You would think I would've thought of that since my daughter is a tennis player. DOH! :p I'll do that, thanks for the tip/reminder! I'm super excited about pushing myself through tonight's workout even though I know ab ripper is going to be brutal! lol

Plyometrics today!!! This one always gets my body in a natural jumping mode afterward and light like a balloon. It starts to have this effect after the first month for me, then during the second and third......boing.....boing......boing....this one is great to improve for jump roping!!

Great tip BudGreene!! I do recall seeing tennis players doing that. Cool!

OMJ, let us know how that works for you. It will get easier over time. I thought I was never gonna do all the reps in Ab Ripper X, but I was able to do all of them after the second half in round one. It's nice though, because my tummy never looked this good!!!! Thanks to Tony!! He really knows how to get you results through this workout!!

Gotta start sprouting. Alissa's 1st book has a great guideline for sprouting. A tip someone gave me on here is to use the colanders. It works great!!

Plyo??? Wooo, you're a TROOPER! Congrats on the awesomeness!!! You go and work it out!!

Today was arms, shoulders and ab ripper x. Woooooooo! My arms were shaking and feeling like jelly for a loooong time afterwards!! I went to shower and couldn't pull my shirt over my head! I was screaming in the bathroom! hahahaha I don't know what made me think that arms and shoulders would be less intense!!! I must've been out of my mind!! I found some of my movements a bit awkward so I have to practice that. I didn't print out my workout sheets to record my reps so I was trying to keep up and write it on paper as I went along, but it was just too time consuming and it had me rushing back to form...which didn't work out well and contributed to my awkwardness. I'm printing out the sheets and that should eliminate the rush and help with form when using the weights.

Ab ripper X was just as brutal as I expected. LOL Maan, oh man!! I'd better have a 6 pack when all is said and done, I'll tell you that!

I had 1.5 bananas before the work out and nibbled on the remaining half as I went along. I suppose it helped, I didn't run out of energy..I just felt heavy as lead! lol Although I will admit, I found it hard to chew the banana on breaks. Even my face was tired and it took a lot of effort to chew that little bit even. Sad I know! LOL So I may stick to eating them to start and just having water breaks...until I work up my endurance a bit.

Side note: My daughter was screaming, "Suck it up mama! No pain, no gain" as I moaned and complained to Tony. ...she just doesn't know how close she was to sleeping outside tonight. LMBO!!!

Tonight's recovery drink: kale, banana, cacao powder with maca, ground flax seeds, mango - for taste, parsley, lettuce, celery, water and ice..oh and the last 3 of my medjool dates (pitted). This baby reaaaaally helped rejuvenate my body! I  it!!

I have a question for you all. Do you eat dinner before or after you work out? I came home today after running errands and had to get straight to my work out. I was tired and afraid that if I stalled with dinner or to rest that I wouldn't get my workout in. So I did arms, shoulders and ab ripper x, drank my recovery drink...and now I don't want dinner. Though, I suppose I should eat to ensure I had a good enough calorie intake for the day. What do you all think??

I'm sooooo loving P90X, this program is awesome! Brutal...but awesome! LOL 87 more days baby!! I'm ready to bring it and can't wait for tomorrow so I can PRESS PLAY!! woooooooooooooo!!!

Tomorrow is Day 4, Yoga X. I'm interested to try this one out since so many complain about it. Day 5 is Legs and Back, so I decided to watch it and get a sneak peek.:thud: OH MY GOODNESS!! I'm not going to be able to walk after that workout!

Plyo gives you wings!!

You're doing great!! :cheer:

I know how you feel!! I too was wobbly for the first two week when I first did P90X. Usually lasted for about less than an hour.

I never really did keep track of my reps on paper. I know that I went from 3-5 assisted pull-ups to 10-15 assisted pull-ups now. I just keep the reps in my mind that I know what I've started out with to compared to what I'm doing now.

Pictures really was the main motivator for me. I wish I would have taken pictures on day one....I started taking pictures on Day 30 and so on and so forth. It helps big time!!

I've been doing my workout in the morning again....when I did do my workout in the evenings......I ate early in the evening.....then worked out really late at night between 10-11!!! My dinner was fully digested by then.

I ate alot of avocados in my first round......now I'm really eating alot of bananas in my second round.....so I just go by what my body wants lots of for the moment. And I had a moment of eating lots of kale salads!!! And I also had moments of eating lots of tomatoes. I hear that date water is like a a raw sport drink for those who work out. I don't even bother with counting my calories. Some people like to count calories, I'm not one of them though. I know that I eat plenty of raw food and get all variety in colors, RAINBOW food!!

I love Yoga X!!! It's a little bit longer than the other workouts. I know that it has helped me to feel stress free. When I'm thinking I'm stress free before I do yoga, I'm always wrong and realized that I really did need it to be stress free!! Yoga will prep you "ready" for leg and back!!

I'm so glad you're loving it!!!! :heart

I got stuff for my minty spinach strength smoothie so I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow! :juicy:

Here is what I'm gonna sprout is some mung beans. So I'm gonna soak em overnight. Planning on making lots of sprout salads in the future!!

Hey whoa!

Plyo gives you wings, huh? I've seen that workout...you, my friend, are amazing if you love that one. So far (it's only been 3 days lol) Cadio X is my favorite....we'll see once I experience more.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about the smoothie! Sounds yum!

I don't know if I can't wait that late to work out. If I tried, I might get lazy and put it off. Maybe I could do that in month 2 or 3, but for now...I'd better get it in as early as possible! lol

I tend to be a bit competitive so even though I want this to whip myself back into running shape...I really want to get super reps done by the end! lol So I'm going to go ahead and print out the sheets. Was out of ink last night and didn't feel like going to Walmart so I might just do it at work today.

I'm going to ask my daughter to take pictures of me tonight...Lord knows I don't want to though. *sigh* As for food intake, I'm with you on the avocado intake. My body is craving them left and right currently and I keep saying, perhaps this is too much fat and defeating my purpose...but it's what my body wants. Should I resist? Not sure...maybe? I do love my kale though! I put a lot in my smoothie! I'm not a calorie counter, never have been. But don't want to sabotage my efforts with too much fat...if that's possible with avocado.

The one thing I'm enjoying about working out at night is that it forces me to go to be earlier. LOL I like that! I'm a night owl and despite my best efforts couldn't get in the bed early, so that's a nice perk.

Oh and i love mung sprouts...I'll be eagerly waiting to hear about your experience with sprouting. I whipped out Alissa's LOLF to review the section on sprouting (I skated over it before). Maybe I'll start sprouting too!

Looking forward to Yoga X!!!! :throwhearts:

Back, Bicep, Abs, & Face/Neck exercises done!

I woke up extra early, so proud of myself!!! Woke up at 4:00 without a problem! Thanks to my Earthing bands I just got. It's the first time I've used it. And thanks to a friend on here for shining the light on how wonderful Earthing is!!!:throwhearts: A lot of top athletes use Earthing to recover well!

The reason why I ended up working out that late is because I kept putting it off like, "Oh in another hour I will..." That's why I went back to working out in the morning. So I figured that at night wasn't going to work for me.

You'll be glad in the end that you did take pictures. I know that feeling of not wanting to take the pics, but it's sooooo worth it!!

I can see that writing reps down would be a big pusher to do more reps than what has been done the last time around. It's a good motivating tool.

Avocados is the good kind of fat that burns fat. Lots of good benefits from eating those. I was obsessed with them when I first ate raw food! I read somewhere in Kat James book, "Truth about Beauty". that by eating good fats helps to release the unwanted fat, since it's hanging onto unwanted fat due to no healthy fat intake. That's my view on healthy fats. Even coconut oils helps to burn fat too. So I don't worry about it too much.

I've sprouted mung beans before and delicious!!! It's the only thing I've sprouted. So I gotta experiment with sprouting other things too!!
So when I do, I'll share!! :eat

Will make smoothie later....too early and don't want to wake anybody up!! Let you know how that goes!!

Have fun doing yoga!!!

My love for Tony is like my love for P90X...sometimes it's a thin line, especially in the heat of the workout! :p But it's love nevertheless!

Yea, if I don't do my workout early in the evening...I can see that happening to me too. I've been waking up before the clock goes off lately...so, maybe I might move to some morning workouts...one day. lol

I'm about to Google Earthling bands and see what they're about. You've got me interested. What heart monitor do you all use? I've been looking at the Mio ones...I might place an order soon. I think it's cool that they have one that monitors your fat and calorie burn w/o the belt. And based on their reputation and reviews, they are very accurate.

Thanks for the info about Avocados...now I'm not worried at all. I had heard that about coconut oil once, but people get so up in a tizzy about fats...and I got sucked in. Going to forget that and listen to my body. It knows very well what it needs! Thanks for the info, I really appreciate that!

RawHealthyBeauty

Thanks OMJ!!

I never did order a heart monitor. Tbat is pretty cool on how accurate it is. I figure I could just do the old fashion way of monitoring my heart if I wanted to, read my own pulse. Maybe when I get super active in the future, I may get one. :)

There's a video by David Wolfe who goes into it about Earthing on YouTube and there's also a book called, Earthing that explains the whole concept. I just started reading it. Cool stuff!

Yeah, I've been there too many times. That's why I love the raw food lifestyle, because I know each bite I take is full of enzymes and is all good!! :woohoo:

I just checked out that vid.... :woot: <=That was my reaction!!! Wowser! That was great! It sure got me PUMPED! :excited:

Tonight was Yoga and it was TOUGH! My balance is horrible for the most part and my legs are tiiiiight, whew! Funny thing is, I could do the pose where you stand with your foot in your thigh and the royal dancer, but those hand on the floor, twist body to the side and look up ones....WOWSER! I nearly fell over every single time. I BROUGHT IT tonight, I tried my best to do the crane. I had the form, but I just couldn't pull myself up any further than my tiptoes with it. I'll get there though! I'll do it, by George I will!

I turned ALL the lights out, and my daughter and the dog were outside playing, so it was quiet and still inside. That really helped to clear my mind and ignore the fact that he was in a gym doing yoga. For the most part, my body enjoyed the tugging and pulling I did to it. It helped some of the ache of previous workouts to subside some, which was awesome and much appreciated. I had my knee brace on for the most part, but I eventually took it off. My knee felt so much stronger after this workout...not sure if it's all in my head or what, but it does!

I forgot to mention - in addition to water for breaks, I prepared some Daterade. I put about 5 pitted medjool dates in an empty almond butter jar with some ice and let it sit. I stirred it up with my finger when I was ready to drink it during breaks. Once my workout was over I put the ice and dates into my recovery drink. I think it helped keep my energy up (in addition to the 1 banana I had prior to), but next time I'll let the dates soak in the water longer or perhaps use more dates.

I'll definitely use the daterade again for tomorrow's work out. I've gotta pull out all the stops for that bad boy!! LOL Tomorrow is Legs and Back...that's going to be a DOOZEY! :backsout:

Oh, almost forgot - tonight's recovery drink: kale, parsley, lettuce, celery, banana, mango, ground flax seeds, cacao powder with maca, ice, medjool dates and water. :juicy:

Hey Paula and Whoa-Raw!!! *waves feverishly* Welcome to the party Paula!! :throwhearts: Where are ya Bud?

Day 5...Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X. LOL It took forever (it seemed) to regulate my breathing after that work out was over! I worked hard and Bud...those wall squats, WOWSA!! :thud:

I was laying on my mat, after all was said and done, panting insanely and my daughter says, " Why are you breathing so hard? Was it that bad?....Are you going to work tomorrow?" LMBO!! This little girl of mine is going to make me lock her in her room while I work out, I tell ya! LOL I kid, I kid! But if I was able to breath properly, I would've laughed when she asked if I was going to work tomorrow. hahaha

Before the work out, I ate 2 large bananas and prepped my dater-ade. I put 8 pitted medjool dates in an empty almond butter jar and let it soak for 1/2 hour prior to my workout...and up until my first break. I sipped on it and water throughout the workout and I never felt depleted. Tired as all get out...but not depleted. I like this daterade stuff, so I'm going to keep using this as my energy drink.

Recovery drink: kale, celery, lettuce, parsley, ground flax, cacao powder w/maca, strawberries (diff fruit this time), banana, and the ice, water and dates left over from my energy drink.

I'm feeling good...sore, but really good right now! I hope everyone had a great work out tonight/today!! :cheer:

So far Cardio X is my fav...but I'm only 5 days into this baby. From what I've seen I really think Kenpo X will be my new fav after tomorrow...pushing Cardio X to either 2nd place or a tied position. lol We'll soon see!

I understand about being busy, so take care of yourself. I'll be sending you loving thoughts and positive vibes from over here! No 'out of sight, out of mind' nonsense with me! No sir, no ma'am! Keep up the great living and fierce work outs!! :cheer:

I am beginning Day 1 of P90x in am~ the last time I did the program, KenpoX was my favorite and I gotta say, I loved the AbRipperX. Looking forward to an early morning rise~ What is SunWarrior protein? The recovery drink sounds great as does sipping Daterade~just having trouble finding dates and coconut water/milk around here~ new town and not that familiar with it yet. Found a health store on line so I will be checking that out tomorrow. Glad to have and offer any support as well!! Have a glorious day!!!

OMJ ~ Thanks!! Cool to hear about the daterade working out for you! I haven't tried making daterade before. Will have to try it with plain clean water.

Keep going!! You're doing awesome!!! :cheer:

Paula29 ~ Cool to hear you getting started Today!!!! :woot:

The Sun Warrior Protein Website has a brief detailed description about what it is and how it's naturally absorbs in your body within minutes, and so forth. If I had to drink a protein smoothie, this would be it. I find that my body really doesn't care for Sun Warrior Protein. It taste great and smooth/not gritty. I added a little honey to mine since it's natural flavor. I find that it makes my body feel weigh down as if I were not a vegetarian. So this is great for those becoming one! I just drink my fruity raw smoothies for recovery drinks. Gotta work in my green smoothies or eat more greens in my day which is why I'm getting into sprouting, because I know I will munch on those which will be great for my muscles!!!
Have fun exploring the new town!! :)

BudGreene ~Awwww thanks!!! You're awesome too!! Very coooool about getting everyone on board!! :cheer:

YES!!!! Way to rock it out Paula!! !:woohoo: Alriiight!!!

Wow Bud! That is so awesome that you're getting your loved ones involved! :throwhearts:

Hey whoa! Yea, I made the daterade with just plain, clean water. The almond butter jar was old but clean. LOL I had some again tonight during my Kenpo workout which was AAAAAAMAZING I might add!!! :cheer: I freaking LOVE it!

I completed Kenpo X with 2 lb weighted gloves, which had my arms feeling like jelly, but gave me an awesome sense of accomplishment at the end! I got confused with the boxing sequences and that had me very frustrated. With the "jab, cross, hook, upper cut" - my arms kept going "jab, cross, upper cut, hook" instead. Which in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter...I guess. But it was like hitting the wrong key while typing, I felt it instantly and HATED making the mistake. I can be a perfectionist about some things and I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight had I not gotten it right. So I paused the dvd, got it right in my head and then did the entire sequence over with "Tony and the kids." LOL I felt SOOO much better knowing that I was doing it correctly.

There was one other sequence that got me a bit discombobulated and that's the one when you do the Star Block - 4 up and 4 back. I couldn't get my arm to go "back" before down the same way Tony did. I got super frustrated and called my daughter out into the living room to help me get it! LOL So I FINALLY got it, then I rewinded (or is it rewound? lol) it back to the beginning and did the entire sequence over. Now mind you, both of these "mess ups" "practice sessions" and then "do overs" with the dvd were all done with these weighted gloves on...talk about FIRE in my arms! Wooosah! I felt the burn baby!!

Other than those 2, which I now have, the work out went really well and I was pretty proud of myself! Kenpo X and Cardio X are DEFINITELY my two favorite work outs. I LOVE a good sweat, as I've mentioned here before (lol) so these two are right up my alley. I felt GREAT afterwards...TIRED, but great. LOL

I went out just now to get a few avocados and some dried thyme (for RawKnitsters mushroom recipe that I'm preparing tonight) and when I hit those steps.... < That was my expression!! My legs quickly reminded me of all the leg work I had just done in Kenpo! Good googly moogly!

Tonight's recovery drink: kale, celery, lettuce, parsley, banana, mango, cacao powder with maca, ground flax seeds and the ice, water and dates left over from my Daterade. Ahhh, refreshing and so rejuvenating! Packed with aminos and energy!

Keep RAWking and rolling everyone!

Paula ~ I agree with you there about "living" and moving forward!! It does feel good to workout!! I know!! I'm happy you're back on board! *Hi fives to ya!!* Are you taking pics? It's makes a huge difference on a motivational level!!

OMJ ~ It's refreshing to read your all your posts, because almost every word you say almost describe my experiences too when I first started P90X!! I'm like, "Oh yeah, I remember feeling like that when I did that!!" I was pretty much the same way too with Kenpo at first, especially with the star blocks!! Whooooo, weighted gloves!! You are gamed!!! :heart Did you ever figure out which heart monitor you were gonna go for?

Bud ~ Try stretching those muscles out if you want and you won't feel as sore!! It works for me. Your gf and her mom will be thanking you at the end!! :encore: I can't remember if you mentioned it or not.... What day are you on?

I won't be posting my pics untill day 90 for round 2!! I just today looked at my pics of round 1 week 5 compared to round 2 week 6. I was very pleasantly surprised, because i thought I was back to where I started before I started round two. I really have made some progress. My body is really pulling in and getting tighter!! So now I can't wait to take pics again in a few weeks here!! Pictures really helps me to stay on top of my game!!!

I ate my sprouted mung beans salad for dinner today!! :eat It had other raw goodies in it too!

And I finally got spinach for the Minty Spinach Strength Smoothie which I'll be making sometimes tomorrow!! Popeye would be so proud of me for getting my spinach!! :)

Great Job everyone!! Way to go; I love Kenpo and can't wait to return to that workout.
Thanks for the suggestions about the photos; I forgot all about that~even though I really don't want a memory of my bod now; it is a great motivational tool to have the photos!
My DVD player wouldn't work this am; not sure what happened, so I pulled out the Sony car dvd player and did Plyometrics! Forgot how much I "breathe" during that workout!! I felt so good when I finished and then I made myself a fruit smoothie with almond milk. I took a trip to the health food store and found my fresh dates:woot::woohoo:; then came home and made raw cacao mousse for tomorrow.

My 5 year old loves Tony and he even came in this morning and started to try and workout with me; it was great!!:cheer:

Have a good weekend too!

I am up extra early today and feeling good!!

Today is a FANTASTIC day! Week 2, Day 1 baby and I got up this morning to BRING IT! Oh yea!... I tried to stay in bed and read, but Tony was calling to me! hahaha So I got up and prepared myself for the X!!!!!

Core Synergistics is EVIL I tell ya, PURE EVIL!!! :p MAN! But I will say this, it wasn't as bad as the very first time, which was my first ever P90X workout! Woo chile, was that a shock to my body!! LMBO! But today, while demanding, was good. It was very good. I pushed myself to the limit and once again did the bonus part at the end vs skipping to the warm up. Though I still can't do the Plank to Chaturanga Run. That is CRAAAAAZY...but I'll get it though! By George I WILL!! (Who is George anyway?? Washington?...I digress lol).

Prison Cell Pushups, Superman-Banana and Bow to Boat.... :thud: I kept fighting and breathing through them, but good googly, moogly it took some inner drive and divine intervention!! LMBO!! Oddly enough, I LOVE the Dreya Roll. On that last one I almost busted my butt and my face. Went to hop up and my legs said, "No ma'am! We are done!" ROTFLMBO!!!

Today's recovery drink - kale, celery, lettuce, parsley, 1/2 an orange, 1/4 of a banana (it was all I had left lol), cacao powder with maca, ground flax seed and the dates, water and ice left over from my Daterade

Keep RAWking it out everyone!!!!! :cheer:

I didn't want to take pictures either...but I'm hoping/praying that at the end of 90 days I'll be so pumped that I won't care what I looked like before. LOL

Whoa-Raw - I LOVE your energy, it just keeps pushing and pushing me! :cheer: Every time I work out I think of you all, it's like having you in my living room next to me! It's fantastic to have the support!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your affirmation! I think it's beautiful and fantastic!

I went through every page of the last P90X thread you were in and saw all your pics. You look amazing and you're definitely my inspiration!

I got up and did my workout this morning, for the first time and it really does make the rest of the day that much more awesome! Thank you so much for your kind words about my posts! I'm so psyched about this program. I feel myself getting stronger and it's only been a week!! I'm so UBER excited to see not just the physical changes at Day 90, but to see how much stronger I'll be!

Kenpo X day, huh? Have fun with it! I absolutely love that workout. Those 2lb gloves had my arms feeling like jelly with all of my "retakes." LOL But I felt amazing afterwards and was so proud of myself.

Bud - I know you're having a fantastic work out day as well!! Keep rawking and rolling my friend! How's the girlfriend and her mom doing? They haven't smacked you for talking them into this, have they? LOL

The Yoga X (while long as HECK) and X Stretch REAALLY helped with my soreness. I hope they help you too!

WAY TO GO EVERYONE~ Keep hitting "play"~ it becomes a way of life and I know you all love it!!

Glad I planned my day with an early rise~ DVD still not working so I worked out again with the portable DVD player & even though its only a 7 " screen, the workout is what you put into it!! My son came in when he heard Tony and did the warm up with me~ it was a great start to my day!
We are still unpacking so ~ did I mention we have been moving?? Anyway, I was happy to have found 2 of my 5# weights ( I was using cans of soup before) LOL~ whatever works~ glad those old cans were good for something since I'm not eating that stuff anymore!:woohoo:

Anyway, did the Shoulder and Arm routine~love it!!My arms were still sore from previous workouts so it reminded me that there IS muscle there somewhere~ just needing to sculpt it to perfection~:heart

Spent the day in Nashville~ forgot that most things are still shut down from the flood last year ~ went to go to Barnes & Nobles but the one at the Opry Mall was closed. Couldn't find Whole Foods and I have been looking for UmPlum Vinegar to marinade my portabella~ we did find Trader Joes:woohoo: so I got a few essentials and picked up a salad with raw walnuts and cabbage for lunch.

Seems strange to be working out tomorrow; was contemplating doing my Kenpo (my usual Sunday workout) and restarting on Day 1 on Monday.

Have a Great Sunday~ A Blessed and Glorious Day:throwhearts:

Whoa, I keep forgetting to take pictures before I start. You're right. It's the best way to track your progress.I'm gonna take a couple. Front, back and profile. And then when I'm done I'll take another three.
It should be done every month but this way is more fun!

By the way, today's my favorite: Chest, Shoulders and Triceps.

Hey appifanie!! Oooh that Tony, he's a sneaky one!! lol I'd LOVE to hear more about your experience with ChaLEAN Extreme. Maybe my second round of P90X will be a hybrid of P90X and ChaLEAN! :cheer:

Sorry, whoa! Was so distracted by Barbie that I didn't reply to your other post. LOL No, I haven't decided on a heart monitor as of yet. Thinking I might get the Mio one, but not certain yet. Which ever one I'm hoping it will be my Valentine's Day gift to myself. :<))

As for Barbie, I watched almost all of her vids last night and subscribed to her page.

Paula - Ya know I've been having problems with my dvd player so I don't even bother with it anymore. It appears to be a difference in technology. My daughter got a new tv for Christmas with a built in dvd player and it works fine in her tv, but it either one play or freezes up on my other dvd players. I was told they were "old" as far as technology goes...even though they're not that old! ...at least not to me. So I'm going to buy a new one, but in the meantime I use my Macbook.

I love your determination, keep it up! Sounds like you all had an eventful day in Nashville, glad you were able to find some of the things you needed/wanted.

Bud, I LIKE that quote...a lot! Have fun with your workout!! Chest, Shoulders and Triceps is in my Week 4, I believe...I'll have to check. Oops, I just checked. It'll be in Week 5 for me.

Today for me, is Cardio X! I love that workout, but man oh man am I sore after yesterday's Core Synergistics! I guess I'll take Paula's perspective and be excited that there's something under there to get sore. lol I haven't done my workout for today yet I'm still tired. Week 7 starting today!! Yay! Gonna do Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, and Abs in a minute here!

My new goal is to fast everyday after 3;00 in the afternoon to give my digestion a chance to do it's job before I go to bed. So that way, I can wake up earlier feeling refresh instead of groggy due to going to bed with food in my stomach. Plus, it gives my body a chance to do what it wants to do instead of focusing on digestion while I sleep. This is when the body does the most healing, recovering. and repairing!! That's the whole point of sleeping in my mind now!

Off to working out! See ya all later!! :)

I've been thinking of this for AGES but always had the excuse of not wanting to install a pull-up bar in a rental apt/house... but now... we are here in our OWN house in Brazil... If not, I'll have to wait until the next time I can get to the USA to get it...

Way to go whoa!! Sounds like you've got a fantastic plan!! :woot:

Hey Eva!! Come on and join us!! You know, I'm in an apartment and I have my chin up bar. It doesn't require you to attach it to the wall with screws and amazingly enough it holds in place and doesn't give when I'm using it. I as doubtful...and scared, but it's true!

As for alternative ways of receiving the program...I don't know. I'll look around and see what I can find out for you. I took a quick look on the site and didn't see where there was a downloadable version, there are 13 discs so that might be time consuming. However, totally do-able if need be. I'll let you know what I find out! I'm excited about the possibility of you joining us!

Today is Week 2 Day 3 for me and it's time for Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X. Wooo, this is going to kick my butt!! However, I'm ready to BRING IT!!! Oh yes, I WILL press play baby!! :excited:

Have a great day everyone!!! I know that Bud and Paula are still RAWking and rolling! Sending joy and energy (cause we need it! lol) to everyone! :heart

Week 2, Day 3
:throwhearts:

IT'S THE 'X' BABY!!!

Today after work I ran a few errands, had to go to Whole Foods and Trader Joes...and I know me, the longer I'm out after work the less I want to do when I get home. BUT I pushed myself through. I got home, immediately changed into my workout clothes and headed to the kitchen to prep my "energy drink." I once again made a mixture of 2 bananas, cacao with maca, ice, dates and enough water to mix.

Then...time to get down to business. Went on twitter to announce my workout. lol Went to WOWY to schedule and then began Arms & Shoulders, Ab Ripper X.

Today I wore my weighted gloves in addition to using my 5lb weights for ALL exercises, even when Tony said, "Use something light here." lol I have 5 and 10 lb weights and I was feeling like 5 was too light, but 10 in each hand was too much. So I created a middle ground for myself by creating 7 lb resistance. Were my arms feeling like limp noodles afterwards? Yes. Was it worth it? YEEES!! :woot: My triceps especially got a much harder workout with the added weight....it's going to hurt so much more in the morning. lol But hey, I didn't come to play around. I came to BRING IT!! *flexes muscles...ouch*

Ab Ripper X...what can I say? I was determined to do EVERY rep Tony did through the bonus items, EVEN down to the 10 extra Mason Twists. I paused the dvd a few times to make sure I got every rep in that they did before they moved on without me and when he kept going past 40 for Mason twists I kept going too! It was BRUTAL, BRUTAL I tell you... but I just would not give in!! When I hit 50 I let out a scream that I'm certain was heard for MILES away!!

But through it all, I MADE IT!! *sings tune in my head* Yes, I made it! My arms are looking kinda sexy y'all!! LOL

My recovery drink: Kale, lettuce, celery, parsley, cacao powder w/maca, strawberry, banana, ground flax seed, ice and water. No dates for the recovery drink tonight, although I bought 2 new containers at Trader Joe's tonight.

Have a RAWkin workout and a beautiful day/evening/morning!! :heart

Hey guys, I just did the whole Max Interval Sports Training insanity video!:thud:
I'm gonna feel that one tomorrow!
It has everything: football, basketball, boxing and athletics exercises all in one.
I feel so great now that it's over. You know what? After you're done with P90X you should try it.

Hi Eva!
You're gonna love it here!

OMJ ~ the stomach exercises was really hard for me when I first did them!
By the third month. I almost did all of them! That's a smart idea is to to pause the dvd and get all the reps in! Yep, you made it good!!

Bud ~ That sounds so to the max!! I have been considering doing insanity at one point but wanted to wait till I felt that my fitness level was good enough before I take it to that level! If I do then I want to mix it up with P90X Plus. You GO!!!

I hear that Tony is making a new version of P90X coming up soon. Does anyone know anything juicy details about this?

Plyometrics today and changing it to where I'm going to fast everyday after 2 p.m. now like Tonya Zavasta! 3:00 isn't going to work for me!

Keep working it everyone!!! :cheer:

All right, put quite a bit of research into it, and this can only be downloaded through bit torrent, which I don't feel comfortable with or want to do...

Sooo, will be happy to join you after I can get back to the USA to buy the program! In the meanwhile, time to step it up a notch with my workouts!!

Hello! I just started Insanity for the second time, was wondering if I could join the group? I want to do P90x I just don't have the extra money right now to purchase it, and also I was wondering how much "extra" equipment do you need?

Also could you tell me what are some things that you eat, because when I did this last time I was sooo hungry during the day. i will go back through and read from beginning to end of this thread, but I was just wondering. Thanks!

Today was suppose to be my second day, however, I was so sore from the fit test that I couldn't even get out of bed, so instead of Sunday being my rest day, I am going to make today my rest day.

Also I was wondering if anyone has the P90x and is done with it and would like to try Insanity I would love to switch and mail it out to you.

Talk to you all soon!

Hi Becky! You're welcome to join!! Bud here is doing Insanity/P90X hybrid!! :cheer:

For the equipments for P90X, if you already got weights and resistance bands....you're good to go. And a sturdy stable bar in closet or bathroom to wrap the resistance bands around for the pull-ups. If you really want to get the pull-up bar, than that's pretty much all you have to get if you a;ready have the other stuff.

Maybe if you gave us an idea of what you ate when doing Insanity that we could help you there with not being so hungry. :eat

Have a great evening!! :throwhearts:

Week 2, Day 4 was Yoga X....and that loving feeling has faded. Last week I appreciated Yoga X far more, maybe because it really did help relieve some of my soreness..but tonight I just wasn't feeling it, at all. I completed the workout, but my heart wasn't really in it.

I've decided to do what I had initially considered and that's to swap out Yoga X for Kenpo X. However, all is not lost because in order to ensure I get a full 90 minute workout I'm going to do the last 40 minutes of Yoga X after Kenpo...beginning with Royal Dancer, my FAVORITE pose! :woot:

So NOW I'm over the moon excited and REALLY looking forward to next Tuesday! :excited:

It's the X BABYYYYYY!!! Let's BRING IT!

Hey Becky! Welcome to the party! :excited: We love more company!! I've been thinking about Insanity, but I think I might do ChaLEAN Extreme next. Whoa mentioned that Bud is doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid, so there's someone here who can directly relate!

As far as what I eat, my recovery drink is kale, spinach, parsley, lettuce, celery, cacao powder with maca, banana, dates, ice and water. Sometimes I'll add another fruit in, here and there.

Initially before my workouts I would have 2 bananas and drink water and Daterade (about 8 or so dates soaking in ice and water in an empty almond butter jar) during my workout as my "energy drink." It REALLY works!

Now I make a smoothie of 2 bananas, dates, water and ice about 30 mins prior to working out and it sustains me well and I drink water during the workout.

On a daily basis, I do find that I get hungry earlier. I eat the same stuff, just earlier...and/or more of it. I don't do a lot of nuts, but I do have them. Not out of intention, I just haven't found myself wanting things with nuts in them. Though I did make a DIVINE nut cheese the other day and ate a bunch of chopped veggies with it. You can check out my blog/journal if you'd like, I've been sharing my food in there.

Best wishes and so happy to have you with us! :heart

Hi guys! Beckyh WELCOME!

I did the insanity workout and the P90x separately, and now I've created a monster ( It's alive,ALIVE!!!) hybrid:eek:

It works great for me. I just work out two days in a row then take one off. You know how taxing those second month insanity workouts can be on the joints.

Anyway, I do P90x weights routine followed by a random insanity workout. This way I pump the muscles and slim faster due to the intense cardio insanity workouts.

As far as the equipment is concerned, you can go the resistance bands route or you can buy detachable dumbells. They are really inexpensive, but can be a major pain in the behind to constantly adjust the weight for each exercise.

Whoa, I believe it's called P90X MS2 (Muscle Confusion 2) And It's going to be INTENSE!

There's also a new Insanity workout coming out this year.
It's called insanity ASYLUM!!! What an appropriate name, don't you agree?

Oh yeah, yoga mats!! For some reason, I think everyone has a yoga mat without even realizing it! Yoga mats are everywhere in my area! OMJ, thanks for pointing that out. Def need a yoga mat!

OMJ ~ There's a lot of mixed reviews about Yoga X, some love it, some don't, some skip it, and some replace it with a different Yoga DVD. You're going to have awesome looking arms doing Kenpo with weighted gloves and 2x a week!! Oh, and an awesome butt lift too by squeezing the butt when twisting to punch every time!! Kenpo City for you!! :cheer:

Bud ~ Sweet about P90X MS2!!!:excited: Yeah, Insanity Asylum sound so CRAZY and I bet Insanity fans are pumped for this one to come out!!!! Thanks for the details!! Now I can't wait to see how those two turn out in the reviews!

Hi all!!! :throwhearts:

Yes, I've seen ads for Asylum on the BeachBody website! WOW, I'm afraid of it! LOL

Bud, sounds like you are about ready to make your own fitness series!! I'm looking forward to seeing you in Tony's next infomercial!!

Whoa, I don't hate the Yoga X. Matter of fact, I LOVE the second half or so of it. But with all of the others I've done so far I get this emotional connection of sorts with the workouts and for some reason it's just not there with Yoga X. Last week I loved it because my body was so sore I needed the stretch. I will say that today my body is hurting after Yoga X, because even though I wasn't totally feeling it...I was determined to "bring it!" anyway. So, it's good to know that it worked me out but I didn't feel that adrenaline rush that I have with all the others...and perhaps I'm not suppose, after all it is YOGA! lol I don't know.

My coach talked me into trying Plyo last night. So now I'm thinking about swapping Yoga X with Plyo...though we all know I want Kenpo! Man I love Kenpo and Cardio X! They are my all time favorites!

As for the equipment needed for P90X, I didn't have to get anything but the chin up bar. I had the weights, bands, mat, weighted gloves among other things. I've got a mini gym. LOL

Hey Paula, how's it going? How's your workout today Becky?

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day! Today is Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X..... woooooo, let me get my mind right NOW! lol

Wow, before I read your post. I was thinking the same thing too that maybe you should try Plyo instead of yoga. You will def get a adrenaline rush from that workout. Maybe you might want something really extreme going on in Yoga like where there is really advanced moves to give you the feeling that you're feeling challenged to push past your limits and such. Maybe I'll google extreme yoga and see what comes up?

Enjoy the Super Skater in Leg, Back, and Abs!! :excited:

Hey Becky! Sorry about your water situation, I hope you all can get that squared away soon! As for the smoothie, yes I have a VitaMix (her name is Veeta :<) lol ) I'm a little heavy handed with my portions and it was yielding a liter (which is how much I prepare for my morning green smoothies but then I realized that's why I wasn't hungry for dinner...I was making too much for recovery drink purposes. So I cut back and now it's 16 ounces. Probably still too much, but it seems to work for me.

ok, now that I've touched base with everyone...let me tell you about MY evening. *sigh*

Got home, put on work out clothes immediately (as always); went to twitter to announce my workout (like they really care lol); went to WOWY to enter my workout, made my energy drink and PRESSED PLAY!! :woohoo:

Work out started, Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X. I was ready to BRING IT and I did. Was sweating buckets, muscles burning like crazy, but I kept pushing through, pushing through. ...got to the calf raises. 3 set in 3 different positions...anyone remember those? Oooooh, my calves were burning. My right calf started to seize up. I couldn't tell if it was trying to cramp or just burning like crazy...I kept going. Made it though. We're in Ab ripper X, 7 minutes to go roughly, finished the fifer scissors, putting my feet together for hip rock'n raise (so far so good); feet are together....they go up....I go DOWN!! My whole lower leg seized up! I mean a cramp like I've never experienced in my entire life. My calf muscle was as hard as a ROCK and balled into a knot like I've never known under my shin. It hurt from all sides, the shin, the calf and it went down into my foot which started cramping up. Toes sticking out all sorts of ways. I was screaming and clutching it, screaming for my daughter. 1st I thought I was just dehydrated and needed water, so she got me more water. Then it felt like it was getting tighter, and you could SEE it balled up (OH LORD!!). She got me the heating pad and a big bag of ice. I put the heating pad on and just prayed!! Ooooh, y'all I'm telling you, it didn't hurt that bad giving birth!! Finally it subsided, but it took what seemed like FOREVER. I kept the heat on it until I got on twitter and was told to ice it. I stretched and iced it and then later on put the heat back on...and fell asleep with the heating pad tied to my lower leg on low. Relief at last. It's sore today, but not NEARLY as sore as I expected it to be. I thought I'd be limping today...that's just how bad it was!!

I never did get to do the hip rock n raise, but I did do the pulse up (heels to heaven) move only because it was pretty much the position I had to be in to help relieve some of the pain. So I went ahead and did them, toe pulled into shin. But after they were done it locked it harder and I had to finally throw in the towel, as I was balled up in a fetal position. I was very disappointed, but I had to listen to my body and it said QUIT IT! :( I didn't post in this thread last night because I fell asleep in the floor before I made it over here. I did post in the 30 day challenge about my recovery and energy drink, but then decided to rest...which turned into "sleep" in my living room floor. :wuv

BUT, tonight is KENPO, my favorite!! So this leg of mine better get it together!

beckyh

Well I did it! I got up at 5:30 and pushed play at 5:45! OnMyJourney, I would love to try that smoothie, I am just nervous!! Do you put ice in it? I just want to make sure everything gets mixed up and when I leave my Vitamix (by the way love the name! LOL!) on too long it warms up the smoothie. I only have two settings on my Vitamix, low/high. I don't have the dial in the middle. So I am never sure if I should leave it on low!

I am so sorry to hear about your leg cramping up! That really sucks! I know how much it hurts also!

I am a little sore, well a lot sore! My legs are killing me! I am having trouble sitting down on the potty! So hopefully I will be able to make it thru tomorrow! I would love to do Chalean Extreme!!! I just wish they weren't so darn expensive, or that you could rent them somewhere!!!

so far for eating, I had a recovery shake, which filled me up. I had coconut water, 2 bananas, pineapple, spinach, and raw protein shake mix. Then I had a ProBar(not 100% raw but real close very delicious!), and I had some chia pudding with raw jam, and a raw PB&J sandwich. I am not sure what I am going to have for dinner. I am going to make some juice here soon because I need to get my greens in me...this is where I struggle getting greens! I think I am going to try that smoothie OnMyJourney!

Talk to you all later!

Thanks becky for the kind words!! I'm doing much better, it's still sore, but I'll survive! Praying it never happens again though!

I'm sooo excited about your workout today, that's awesome! :woohoo: The Pineapple is great for soreness, I'm told. Your recovery drink and food sound great. As for mine, it's not really a lot at all...well, IMO. The Vita Mix can totally handle it, put it on high. It doesn't take long at all. Blend it well, adding water if needed (just enough to keep it moving); and put the ice in last to ensure it's nice and cold and you're good to go! :woot:

As for price, if you become a coach you get 25% (I think that's the percentage) off of all of your purchases. You don't necessarily have to be active in a coaching position with someone. As I've read a lot of people become coaches just to get the discount. I haven't done it yet, but I've decided I'm going to after 30 days. I want to have comparison pics first. But the discount makes it very well worth it, even if one never actively coaches. Head over to beachbody.com and check out the deets!

My right leg held up really well, it was my left knee (that I blew out last year training for a half marathon) that tried to slide out of place on me. I've got it iced right now and it's ok. But I finished my workout in champion style! :woohoo: Nothing is standing in the way of me finishing my 90 days! NOTHING!

I raced home from work, did my workout and then had to race back into town for a program my daughter was in at school tonight. So of course, she had to be there early, and we got there JUUUUST in time and she ran into the building to prepare before the guests arrived. I sat there through 2 hours of a lovely, but looong program after having completed Kenpo, nearly broken my neck to shower, fix my recovery drink and race (literally) down the highway to get her there on time. Whew, I had on my SuperMom cape today boys and girls! :woot: :thud: *collapses...hard*

Time for bed...night, night! Have a great workout and an even more fabulous day! :throwhearts:

Hey guys!

OMJ sorry to hear about your cramp. Those can really be painful. You know, next time it happens, try to pull your toes in the opposite direction, that worked for me. Here are some of the usual culprits I found on google:
"Although the exact cause of leg cramps has not yet been successfully determined there are thought to be a number of possible causes including:

* Dehydration (not taking on enough water, especially in hot conditions).
* Low potassium or sodium (salt) levels.
* Low carbohydrate levels.
* Very tight muscles.

A bout of severe leg cramp may cause damage to the muscle. Fibres of the muscle may be torn due to the shear strength of the muscle contraction. If this happens the muscle will be painful for some time afterwards."

Glad to see you bounced back!

OMJ: I get the same way, I am always starting something new before I finish or go to something and go back to what I was doing. I will go over there and confirm you!

I didn't do my workout this morning!:( My husband didn't wake me up in time. I am also thinking about doing it every other day, I am not sure about that yet. I am so sore especially my legs!! So I am okay with the day off!!

However I am a little disappointed, I weighed myself before I started this workout, and then this morning I weighed myself, and I have gained 2lbs, I know it isn't a lot but I am trying to figure out why:weird! I am not going to worry about it, but I will keep an eye on it.

Today is the day that I start to get more greeens in me. I just found this green smoothie from Sergi Boutenko, it is a smoothie for Athletes:

1cp of spinach
1cp of swiss chard
1cp of collards
1 celery stalk
1 banana
4 Medjool dates
1 pear
2 tbsp of bee pollon (optional)
1 avocado
1 peach
1cp of blueberries

Even though I didn't work out today, I am going to try it, it seems like a good way to get my greens in. Does anyone know how many cups makes a 1 pound? I am trying to get in at least 1 pound of greens during day!!!:heart

I had a big bowl of salad for breakfast And just walked for about 45 minutes. I really love to walk and miss it!! So this is what I've decided to do!

Here are some new modifications to my plan.

~After finishing a week of P90X, on the 7th day I will be walking on that day and the next day and maybe might on the 9th day, depend, Yeah I love walking that much! Then do the P90X week!
~Have a recovery meal or drink after exercising.
~Full body stretch after each cardio workout.
~Following the Quantum Eating Concept.
~Sleep and exercise grounded with Earthing.
~Wait 3-4 hours between meals to eat.
~ Srill do facial exercises like Tonya Zaxosta.
~ Build a strong positive aura in every positive action I take.
~ Think Positive all the time!

I'll be walking tomorrow and maybe the next day after that, then back to P90X!!

Hey Bud, can't wait to see you be all blazing muscles!!

OMJ ~ Do you have any special exercises to help your knee? Yeah, try the calf stretch and at the same time breath really deep for a long time till it goes way. Sounds like a really serious charlie horse. Keep those calves stretch out good!!

Go Super Mom!! :excited:

Becky ~ Sounds like you off to a good start! You're figuring out what works best for you!! Very cool!
There's a food scale you can buy that weighs your food. I used to have one and gave mine away.

Have a Long Happy Valentine's Weekend!! :heart

Bud,
Thanks for the advice and info! I think the problem was low sodium. I'm fairly certain I'm not getting enough. But just to be on the safe side, I'm up'ing my water intake, stretches and bananas before workouts, in addition to monitoring my sodium.

Thanks so much! :backhug Keep RAWking and rolling over there!

Becky,
So sorry you didn't get your workout in. You have to listen to your body and make the best decision for you, however, I've found that the best thing for soreness is to fight through it until your body gets used to the intensity and then it's not so bad. If you prolong the ache it'll just continue to be uber sore every time. But again, you listen to your body. Either way I'm cheering you on! :cheer:

Oh and don't sweat the 2lbs! You know how women's bodies can be. 2lbs can be water, stress, anything. Don't stress over the scale, look more at how your clothes feel. You're doing great! And that smoothie sounds awesome...except for that avocado. I LOOOOOOOVE avocado...but for some reason I can't seem to put it in my smoothie. lol

As for your question about cups and pounds. 1 cup equals 8 ounces and 16 ounces is 1 pound, BUT... pound is a measure of weight and cup is a measure of volume, so when you factor in density of whatever you're measuring this might not balance out. Maybe just weight the greens at the grocery store and then incorporate that into your smoothies.

Hey whoa! Good to 'see' you!
Sounds like a fabulous plan you've got there! I love to walk too and have been thinking about incorporating it into my workout since I can't run the way I'd really like ...which is without this darn brace. It slides down too much and I'm constantly stopping to readjust. It just defeats the purpose.

As for exercises, I have a ton that I'm supposed to be keeping up on from my Physical Therapist...but I've been slacking. Gonna have to get back on that in order to maintain a stable knee cap during this 90 days, because I WILL finish!

Thank you for the beautiful Valentine's Day wishes, I'm sending love and beautiful wishes to you and the rest of our fitness fam as well!!
:heart

I just did my first P90X workout. My friend has started in the business and had her first fit club at her house. So I did the Kenpo X and I really really enjoyed it. I am sore in the shoulders... I think from all the punching! lol But I feel good all around. I am going to do this once a week at her house. Oh and we also did an ab from some other video and I have to say I HAVE NO AB MUSCLES!!! I couldn't for the life of me climb my own leg! LOL So depressing how I have let my body go over the years. But better late than never!

Have fun with it! The great thing about it is, seeing how far you can grow. I'm so excited about seeing how much stronger I will be in 90 days, how many pull ups I can do in comparison to day 1! It's going to be awesome I know!

Well I think I am going to have to buy an alarm clock! My husband for whatever reason keeps forgetting to wake me up. Monday I am going to be starting fresh! I think that I need to stretch more then what the DVD does.

OMJ what does MSM do? Because the back of my thighs are so tight and painfull. I did some stretching last night as I was watching TV~and I am going to do some more today. I want to do yoga, but there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do. So I am just going to do stretches throughtou the day.

So I will be back on Monday telling you all what I did! I cant' wait!!:excited:

Just a thought for everyone here......

If I do get more MSM, I'll be getting mine from David Wolfe's site. Since some MSM supplements as far as what I've read is from petrochemicals and not plant based. The brand his site carries is plant-based. I just found this out just recently....

Here's the title (copy and paste) to hear and learn more about MSM on YouTube.

OnMyJourney
02-12-2011, 06:11 PM
Not a silly question at all. In the beginning I thought it was stupid (cause I didn't 'get it' LOL); but now it's pretty cool! I talk to Eva on there quite a bit these days.

If you have an account, really all you do is post your thoughts about things or whatever you're feeling and if you put a hashtag, say like this "#rawfood" after what you've said, then all other people interested in that same topic can click on that and INSTANTLY you have a group of likeminded people to converse with via the internet. It's realy cool!

You can also do a search for areas or people you're interested in (say, rawfood gurus, chefs, etc) and "Follow" them. When you follow them, you get to see everything they post. Sometimes it's tidbits, sometimes its recipes. Sometimes it just leads to getting to know them on a more personal level.

It really is a remarkable tool, that I truly that was a waste of bandwith at one time. Hahaha. I even follow some of my local farmers and my co-op. Sometimes they offer special deals to those who follow them on twitter.

Pretty nifty. If you find that you have an acct or that you create one, let me know and I'll follow you!

It's a little...lot confusing for the beginner (I remember all too well) so take your time and fiddle around with it. All the explaining in the world didn't help me until I clicked on one of those little hashtags one day and it opened a whole new world. lol

This will be my third day of walking and back to P90X tomorrow. I will be walking for two to three days after I complete each P90X week for now. Plus after doing P90X for awhile.....it gives my a mental break from it and still be active in P90X!

Walking for two years along with raw food really got my body back in good enough shape that I felt that I was ready to take on P90X! So now it's almost three years years, doing round two of P90X..... I feel stronger and stronger with each passing day! :woot:

And not eating after dinner or snacking at night really helps me to wake up alot earlier in the morning and look refresh and younger! Now I know why they call sleep "beauty sleep". Plus it goes easier on the digestion system as well!

I BROUGHT IT again today. Wore my 2 lb weighted gloves for everything except the bonus round. I did that last week and almost broke my poor arms in half. I can complete the Congdon Curl with the extra weight, but can't get all my reps in with the In & Out Straight-Arm Shoulder Fly wearing the gloves. So I just kept them off, got all my reps in and was SPENT! LMBO

Ab Ripper - My core is getting stronger, which is SO FREAKING EXCITING! My form on the Roll-up/V-Up combo was MUCH better and I got more reps in!

Energy drink before P90X - 2 banana, cacao powder with maca, ice, water (forgot my msm, but thankfully my knee is feeling good)

Recovery drink after P90X - kale, parsley, lettuce, celery, 3 tablespoons of hemp seed, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice, cacao powder with maca, banana, ice and water. Forgot my msm again. My knee is getting stronger despite my memory (lol), and I'm happy about that. I think the chia seed is helping too!

Hey yo everyone!!

It's been a very deep day for me. And I learned something very special today, which is self-forgiveness and be guilt-free to shine the light in me the coolest way possible! Here's a poem....

Our Deepest Fear

by Marianne Williamson

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Yes, that's how deep my day was!

GoodCat ~ You'll see how strong you ae when day 90 arrives!! I threw my scale out a long time ago. I just go by how my clothes look and how it feels on me. You'll be in great shape in no time by eating raw food and keep pushing play!!

Juiced 1 half grapefruit over mushrooms.
Dash of sea salt
Generous amount of cumin spice
Stir well and let it marinate
Cut celery into thin strips then cut into bite size
Cut two very ripe avocados into cubes
Cut 1 cucumber into strip and cut into small pieces
Add all into bowl and stir well.

It's nice to have plenty of raw food on hand to not backslide. I took that advice from Alissa's first book. Always have plenty of raw food around.

OMJ ~ Are you getting the hang of it, now that you've been doing it for awhile?

GoodCat ~ My hips and upper back got alot stronger from the 1st round of P90X. So I'm hoping it'll do the same for you. I do a quick full body stretch after kenpo and plyo and would do it after cardio too, but haven't done cardio yet.

Bud ~ Did you ask awhile back if anybody was stuck at the same numbers? Like if you can manage 20, do 21 or 22 the next time around, then once you get the hang of 21 or 22....go for 23 or 24 and get the hang of that and so on and on.... Plus maybe having a daily green smoothies could improve your numbers too. Good for the muscles!!

Here are some of the things I ate today.

6782 6783 6784

The first one is So Alfalfy which is a small box of alfalfa sprouts, 2 tomatoes, dash of sea salt, 1 1/2 lemon juice, dash of olive oil, and generius amount of cumin spice.

The second one is Sweetest Cantaloupe which is half cantaloupe, 1 peeled lemon, one small apple, one mango, water, and generous dollop of raw honey and mix well in Vita-Mix.

The third one is Apple Lemonade mixed of one apple, one peeled lemon, water ,and generous dollop of raw honey mix well in Vita-Mix.

Have a great night everyone!! :heart

I pushed play today! YEAH for me! I did Pure Cardio, I have to say I really like it because you just go until the end, there is no resting and doing the whole thing three times in a row, but getting faster each time!

Hopefully everyone will be pushing play sometime today.

So far I had a GS with protein powder, chia seeds, spinach, banana (frozen) and strawberries (frozen). Going to the grocery store today!!

Hey whoa - yea, I'm getting the hang of it and I'm getting stronger and seeing myself be able to do more reps each time..and while the soreness isn't AS bad as the first week, I do still feel the effects the following morning!

Bud, becky, keep up the great work!! :cheer:

I love that everyone is still pressing play and bringing it! :woohoo:

Here some of the stuff I had today!

Advocado Love ~ half of Alfalfa sprouts from small box, 6-8 mushrooms, 2 ripe avocado cut into cubes, 1 tomato, 1 1/2 of lemon juice, lots of cumin spice, good dash of sea salt. dollop of honey and a good dash of olive oil/ This was just sooo good!! First time I made it this way and will make it again!!

Get Them Pears ~ 4 over riped pears, 1 mango, 1 banana, dollop of raw honey, water, Ice cubes, and mix well in Vita-Mix. Very peary good!

Sweet Carob Sauce ~ add amount of honey into bowl you think you'll use, add a spoon of carob powder, it's better to add less than more, mix carob powder well into raw honey in bowl and add mor if needed, once that is done... add a small dash of olive oil to give it a very creamy texture, stir very well. This is a perfect dip for any favorite fruit!! And perfect for the sweetest tooth...

Yeah, gotta do the leg, back, ab tonight!!

OMJ ~ Right on!! :hippy

Keep it going and everyone's doing great!! :excited: YAY!!

Did Back, Legs. and Abs!
Doing Kenpo today!!

And discovered one exercise that will firm up my booty really fast and good by the end of 90 days! Feel like that is one area that is not really focused on and that that Tony could have added the Butt X as how he added the Ab Ripper X in. Kenpo and Plyo does work out the buttock along with the Leg and Back workout.

You know the feeling like your abs or biceps got a good workout? Well, I found this one exercise that will make me feel like I did a good workout for my booty! Put a folded towel into making it plush enough on seat of the chair, lay belly on seat of chair, feet touching floor at distance in between, then lift legs in upward motion bringing feet together. I just started doing this and it feels like lifting weights for this area.
Tony did a really really great job covering every area of the body. The buttock area needs more attention like how the stomach area needs more attention, which makes Ab Ripper X great! P90X does a good job for the buttock, just would like to see faster results like I do with the rest of my body.

Has anyone tried the Brazil Butt Lift and if so...Were the results good? I'm a little skeptical of it, because every workout that targets the butt never did get results for me which is why I think it would be extra great if Tony did a dvd that focus on helping people to improve that area, because he really knows what he is doing as a fitness instructor and help people get results. Not some whoo hoo instructor and no results!!

Have a EXCELLENT day!! See ya all later!!

I wish I had Kenpo X today, instead of Back and Biceps! Damn those pull-ups!

But to quote John Wayne - a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!

Whoa, that picture taking is a great idea, but my fridge is nowhere near as beautiful as yours(I've got stuff in there growing new stuff!), and my culinary skills are questionable to say the least.

Cheers guys!!!

Hey everyone! I was wondering how long each DVD of P90X is? I may have a chance to borrow it..and currently the Insanity DVD's are only between 39-45mins. I know when I get into the second month they do run a little longer. So I was just curious if I was going to have to get up earlier if I borrow this DVD. Thanks!

Just popping in to say GREAT JOB everyone! SO excited for the new orders, the continued effort and the fantastic energy all around!!

Last night was rest day and while I FULLY intended to do X Stretch I fell asleep on the couch. It was a long week and I suppose it took it's toll on my body. I woke up fully dressed, lights on all over the house...in the middle of the night. Not even sure what time I fell asleep even.

Today starts my recovery week...which means Yoga X. We all know how I feel about that work out, it's my least favorite. HOWEVER, since this is my recovery week, I've been advised to follow instructions to prepare my body for Week 4. So...I'll do as told, but I'm not happy about it. About to walk the dog and was contemplating doing Yoga X afterwards...but the longer I sit here the more I talk myself out of it. Perhaps I'll do it this evening. We'll see.

Keep pressing play everyone, you all are RAWk Stars and I'm proud to be among you! :throwhearts:

I took my kiddos hiking today and I did it P90X style. My little one (whose almost 5 and weighs 45 lbs.), couldn't walk much because of blisters on her heels. I ended up carrying her on my back for about 2/3 of the hike... and it was a 2 1/2 hour hike

A friend of mine who does p90X kept telling me to ..."bring it" ...lol...
Well.... I brought it and did great. My legs are a little sore and so are my shoulders, but it was still very fun!!!

Have a great walk! My booty is still hurting from legs and back the other week. I clearly wasn't clinching those muscles tight enough before. I'm on my way to buns of steel! hahaha I was looking at that Brazilian Butt workout a few weeks ago, going to wait and see how this P90X thing goes first.

I did get my Yoga X done yesterday, thanks to monk and all who encouraged me. It wasn't "as" bad as before...but yea, I could've done without and I have to do it twice this week...UGH! I'll just have to suck it up.

I will admit thogh, there were some things that I was much better at this time around, which did feel good. And once it was over I felt good about it.

Keep PRESSING PLAY and don't forget to BRING IT!

LOL..thank you guys....

My hips really paid the price for the hike (carrying 45 extra lbs.) So today I did the Stretch X instead of Core. The stretch really seemed to help and so I'm glad I chose that one.

You all are encouraging me to try the Yoga X again. Maybe it will grow on me ..lol..
