Help, I need to decide which model to order.

I'm still not sure what the DRY Container does exclusively that the WET Container CANNOT do - to warrant spending the extra $125-$150 - but it sure sounds pretty cool!

one can spend around $349. - for the tried and true 4500 MODEL, which is a wet container, blade and base + (w/ 5 yr. warranty)...

<or>

the SUPER 5000 MODEL (w/ 7 yr. warranty) for $499. which is the same as the 4500, but adds a whole other container and blade for "dry" ingredients, which you can make bread flour with and I don't know what else - ?

I called Vitamix, and the sales person is not familiar with raw cuisine- so she could not tell me specifically what I would use the dry container for besides SAD bread recipes.

Also, someone said that - as a raw foodist - the dry container might sit on the shelf and gather dust...

I think some of you use this additional dry container with special blade- can anyone tell me how it is useful and worth the money for a raw person.

thanks kindly~

I bought the 4500 about a year ago. It does everything I could ever want it to - it is used in raw food restaurants too. It's changed our eating habits so much - all for the better. Really smooth smoothies & soups in a minute. Great nutmilks. I'm so happy we bought it. I got it on e-bay for $300, new & sealed in the box.

I have the model with the dry container. My husband bought it for me for Christmas last year, and I thought to myself, "as much as I want a Vitamix, what in the HECK am I going to do with a dry container?" It sat and sat, UNTIL I want raw in March. Now I use it ALL THE TIME!! My favorite is to grind flaxseeds, but I also grind nuts, and seeds of all kinds. If you don't have a need to grind those things, then you probably won't use it.
Hope that helps!

I have the wet container only, and it grinds flax seeds and nuts into nutbutters instantly and easily.

I've never had any need for the dry container, as the wet one works just fine.

I use mine everyday.

Alissa, sells them on her site for $369.
