View Full Version : Level 1 Certification
I have a friend who has the oppurtunity to take Alissa's Level 1 Certification for $200. Can someone tell me more about this course? It looks like it's for those wanting to be a chef?
I've read Alissa's information page on it - but I was hoping to hear from those who have taken it. All help appreciated - thanks in advance. *Ü*
Hi Deb!!
I've been teaching it (http://rawteacher.com/eva) since 2007... took it with Adrienne Martin (http://the5050dietplan.com) earlier that year. After Adrienne's class (which was my first raw food class ever!), I was totally inspired.
It's simple and doesn't have the kind of info you'd expect for a "chef" certification ~ but the recipes are great ~ and people always seem to enjoy it. :) I've never had anyone leave feeling like it was not "enough". It's a great INTRODUCTION to raw food and way to meet with others who are jumping into this journey...

Wow, $200? That seems a little steep. I only paid $125 two years ago for Level 1, and I live in the San Francisco Bay area.
Where is this class suppose to take place? I literally felt like I was buzzing after my class! It was so great to be with like minded people and enjoy some raw foods. The recipes that we made were all in Alissa's book, so since I had already owned her book, I felt like I already knew everything the class had to offer. However, it was great to be able to share my knowledge and tidbits with the other attendees.
Yeah, it is steep... could be a private class? $125 is definitely the price set by Alissa for the class... but I have charged more for private classes so figured that was the case...
I don't know if it's private or..?
Would you recommend this certification then for someone just interested in learning more about raw food & prep - but that does not want to teach it?

Hi! Can I chime in? :D
Level 1 Class is wonderful because it's hands on and doesn't have complicated recipes that require Dehydrating. It's a class that you will walk away from inspired and able to make RAW foods yourself! I recommend that Class because in the 4 hours you really get a feel for the lifestyle. Alissa has made the recipes simple and totally do-able for children! Trust me, this class is 'da BOMB!!!! :D
You don't "have" to want to teach to do this class. It's for anyone just wanting to eat RAW too! But, if you choose to teach it sets the wheels in motion for you to do so through Alissa's program.
Thank you so much girls, lovemyzoe, Eva and Renee ~ I appreciate all your input to my question. That's the responses I was hoping for. I have passed the information along to my friend. *Ü*
And thank you R.J. for your email - I tried emailing you back to thank you but my email was returned. I hope you read this, I appreciate the time you took to write! *Ü*
